Thinks he's not John Murphy show. These keys that John Murphy show. And good afternoon we are alive at one bills drive we are here until 3 o'clock John Murphy Michael Donald Jones here to talk some bills football and if so we view. And we subject join us 8030550. Is the number from outside buffalo still free call 18885525. If he. Or you can join us on Twitter at Jimmer show. A good show coming up today coming up at the bottom of the sour all the way from Green Bay, Wisconsin in a break in their practice day. Jacobs Sharma is gonna join us Jacob's job as a Hamburg New York native who will join us to talk about preparing for the NFC championship game is the putter. For the green bay Packers and the holder those of field goal attempts at won the division round playoff game three kicks a I saw somewhere down where that was a record. Three kicks of fifty yards or more in the final minute of the game last Sunday to give Green Bay win of course one of them wiped out by the time I'll call. On what pretty amazing and Jake jumped handled the holds which is you know no small feat and I mean you know everybody in buffalo in this whole area this thing I was unaware I guess until the last couple weeks or so the Jacob John was on the packers' roster. So I didn't know him he got under the radar and of course I blamed our producer Jay got to blame it wouldn't about it and I know that's. How to handle this year but Jake jumped gonna join us at the 1230 Hamburg native will be on the line this. Like from Green Bay we'll talk with him about his incredible journey to the National Football League united used to look over some of that you can probably appreciate what it took. Organic matter to me news he'd bounce back and forth. Between two teams were a few years come before landing. This year with the Packers and and now for him and the bounce back and forth between those two teams and now be with the Packers and being indices it was again I mean that's like. He has a much the same rod probably is has asked me when was in there he just had been promoted and now you know he's a coach is kind of like that rising for him now. For Jacob so I'm I'm excited former happy form I'm excited it's also about the whole thing that you he's gonna join us it to 1230 today. At 1 o'clock today Chris Brown will join us bills insider from Buffalo Bills economic wanna talk with Chris about his. I thought remarkable in every that he did it kind of got lost in all the Sean McDermott news. Over the weekend but Kristin and I think an animal remarkable interview with the GM Doug Whaley with we had a on the show yesterday at 130 with several. Interesting that things that he said about that. You know hiring process for Sean McDermott. What went into it his vision for the future his view the roster and we're gonna talk more Chris Brown get some insight into that but. I thought Doug Whaley shed some light on where he seizes bills that franchise is right now Donald enough I thought it was a but that it was a really fine you're gonna talk more Chris about that coming up at 1 o'clock. It was a good limited you know and and you obviously key and coach McDermott shares the same and ownership they all share the same vision. And you know they want to build on that vision and so is a good thing that they are all in lockstep right now they're all seeing the same things and they wanna do with their way. What day it really is the topic of error or at least part of the topic on our Twitter poll and I guess is we you know the bills have not done that. And other than yesterday they hired Kelly skippers are running backs coach they have not added any other. I'm names of the coaching staff roster yet so. Absent that we thought we kind of take us have to step back and take a look at the overall look at the Buffalo Bills and wanna hear from you and that is our. Our Twitter poll today. On this buffalo bills' roster should look at it and you kind of evaluate where they're at where they're headed and the next steps they might take where do you think the strongest point. On this buffalo bills' roster is right now what do you think is the strength the foundation if you will for what they happened and what the might have a moving forward. You can fault us up on that we'd love to hear from 8030550. The number were told free from outside buffalo 1888552. By fifty. But it is also all are out Twitter poll. With a over 200 votes and so far what's the strongest part of the bill's foundation 30% of you say it's the defense of life. Obviously with the big names like Marcel Darius Al Williams and and others up front. Right behind at 29% say it is the offensive line obviously with you know pro bowler Daren reaching impact neo and Eric Wood and some of the others. And right behind that when he 6% of you say yum. It is the skill positions wide receiver with Sammy Watkins running back with the show on the court 15% say it would be something else something other than that. So let us know what you think really curious to hear what you think about the strongest part. Of the bill's foundation essentially what the bills can bill that moving forward that really I think is the approach that. Doug Whaley would take and by extension with the new head coach John McDermott would take what are we building on your what do we have in place. And what's the strongest part of our foundation if I had to pick I would I think echo the offensive lineman Albert in terms of good players you know at least one Pro Bowl performer Eric would probably yeah. You know a marginal Pro Bowl performer. According Glenn I think on the cusp of Pro Bowl contention good players all for the most part all the muck under contract it relatively decent value and and there's no real a gym and office of mind to me that might be the strongest part of the bill's foundation built upon what you think. And I think the the biggest thing to look at what that offensive line is the backups that had to step in you know Roy. I am and and Cyrus on those well you know those guys to step in and be starters on this team so I think that is. Probably the strongest point of this office of mine especially in the run game and I do think that they need to work. A little bit harder in the passing game just to make sure now once again. We don't know if that was has a lot to do with the you know Tyrod being laid on his throws holding the ball. But it did seem like he was getting a lot of pressure and that's the one thing that they need to improve probably in the run game and that is a great office. So let us hear from you what's the strongest part of the bill's foundation as they move to the future 8030550. The number. Told free from outside buffalo 1888552. But if you or you can do it on Twitter. Wanted to hear me also about some of the elements of a play you some of the the comments we're gonna talk with Chris Brown about a variety of things at 1 o'clock including isn't bwic Doug Weight lately last week that. Some of the elements of that interview including the vision for the future. Where the bills go from here which it got architectural weird. Doug Whaley the GM talk about it last week. Bomb the question came up towards the end of the interview last week with Doug Whaley about. The construction of the team and you know how it is a Doug Weight leads to view this team. With coach McDermott now in charge and and words that start what is the foundation on which Doug Whaley is ready to build upon here's with the GM NC Chris Browne leak this week. Let's say it's gonna start with the core values instilling the core values in our players. And in this building. And starting from the inside and working out it's not going to be quick fix he knows that we know that and anything that's. Going to be sustainable for a long time it's hard to do so the work ethic now only from. Ownership. Down it's going to be permeated through this building but it's also going to be permeated in that locker room. These guys got to know and they will know that there is a standard that we are setting and everybody. From again owners all the way down the players to everybody administrative staff. We have to try to strive to live up to that standard every single day you walk through that door. I think that is the essence of what wait at least vision is switched on McDermott has. It's signed on for and Donald I think that it's the core values affected. You know they're not really interested in a quick fix to make the playoffs here they're interested in their building a foundation in and maybe most importantly building. Upon the foundation that is already in place which goes back to our our Twitter poll you know I think they believe that they have the elements of a good foundation. They wanna build upon it they don't want to necessarily. You know blow it up start over to a redo his many people I think get outside of interpreted you know this looks like a a total remake I don't know that it is that I think it's kind of look what do we have in place I think they've tried to do an honest assessment of what they have in place. And again echoes or Twitter poll what do you think they haven't placed what is this one of the strongest parts the thought of the foundation the bills have in place. Right now how can they enhance that. Add to that and build upon that moving forward for long term success not just a a nine at ten win season and and a playoff berth with long term success. I believe that's what they're Doug Whaley has in mind I believe you know Sean McDermott said here around. Last Friday and said that Terry Google said that there. First words out of his mouth when he took we talked to him last of Friday. You know one of the reasons they went to Sean McDermott was the wanted to build long term I believe that's what's going on not this early. A tear down you know burnt down. And build it up from the ashes put more like look. Here the bones of what we do hear the bones of what we have now let's add to it and built for long term success. What is an this is not a rebuild that it is building upon what they have right now and it's not going to be. You know one player comes in here and takes this team to the Super Bowl you know in this this team this organization. You know I obviously everybody wants to make it to the playoffs in the drought and we all did that. But if you make it to the playoffs in the drought and in the next year. You're back to the same old bills what are we talking about you know so they wanna build this being the right way so that's your consistently in the playoffs consistently. Making it too. The AFC championship you know getting to the super bulls possibly went in the Super Bowl that's been long term vision in order to do that you have to look at the foundation look at the piece that you have right now. And just build upon that and keep adding those different pieces might have said it's not going to be. One player's gonna they're gonna happen at different pieces through the draft and different guys through free agency. Over you know a couple of years now you might end up making it to the playoffs and but. In the meantime you need to just keep on building an athlete that's what he's. I think you know when people interpreted different ways which is why we wanna bring. And we will be Chris Brown in your 1 o'clock to give us his take on his interview with the Doug Whaley bit. And for instance on Twitter Patrick Dicky says it sounds like a tear down. Which could be the road to its success all the band aids we tried to never panned out your thoughts I don't know if it's stared down I don't think it is a carrot out I think that would Whaley said. And when he talks about instilling core values and when he talks about the foundation that they haven't places that. Look let's find out exactly who we are in terms of what we do well now and build upon that I don't think it's you know let's burn it down to the ground and and restart. Now that they have some decisions to make as we don't know we'll talk about them over the next several months about. Player personnel most notably quarterback. But I don't think that. I think they're trying to build. The they're trying to build upon what they have a supposed to turn it down I don't think it is a tear down view and no. I think it's only Denver and now evaluating everybody on this team and he's looking at OK this is the scheme long term that I want to have mrs. Ordered it or is organizationally. These are the guys that I want to have in the building right. He's gonna look at that and consider that the foundation of this team and there are a lot of guys that will be on this team and they are the foundation of this team whether guys that are veterans. Guys that were rookies in this second year there are points apiece is on this team that will then I'm sure he's gonna look at and say these guys back and work with. Now we need to do is add more and more talent around these guys and not even just players but as everybody in the building they want the the entire organization to be saying the same thing everybody to have the same vision. And so that's what to do right now you know they're just trying to build. A found that it is time to build upon that foundation. A couple of tweets on this and again we want to weigh in on our Twitter poll or even better give us a call at 8030550. York. Pull free from outside buffalo 1888550. To 550. Eric turner says the foundation is crumbling. Is it. Is it I know that it is Eric call us up let's discuss I'm I'm open to listen to that argument but. You don't have to finish with a seven wins in eight when a year ago nine wins a year before that clearly there's some talent here and not enough to make the playoffs. Clearly there is. You know enough talent to it to be competitive they have been now for three straight years. I guess I'm looking for identification and what fans think the foundation is where you think that the strength of this team is in and maybe some. Direction on what it might take to add on top of that you know and and and Sean McDermott I'm receiving is charged with the finding out exactly what the foundation is what he can build upon moving forward but I don't necessarily I don't agree Eric turner the foundation is crumbling edges. I don't know that it is we've got a coaching change year and upheaval on the coaching staff the personnel department remains intact I think they've done a fairly good job of acquiring a talent here template that needs to be developed. I think the organizational structure is not crumbling despite what you know the national narrative might be but. I don't know let's hear from you don't real like it yes it is. Going to this also comes back to you know we talk about what the office coordinator search you know we're gonna talk about this a lot more with brownie but. With that often to coordinated not to look at Ford guy that can come in here and say. You know I can take this into the playoffs this year they're looking forward guy long term you know a guy that wants to be here. And wants to help build upon the foundation right now so that's why he's taking his time. To find the right guy because he wants to make sure that the guy that he finds has the same vision isn't. And that's loses. 8030515. The number toll free 1888550. To 550 your view you know after agreement assuming many to. What's mr. August part of the bill's foundation moving forward it's their Twitter poll that's what we elected here from new Omnia telephone lines a couple of tweets on this. A yankees tweets and slap lipstick on the pig it's still a pig here now I offered to pay. I I you know they haven't bottomed out here in in three years you know. What we are on nine wins eight when seven wins. That is it crumbling is at a pig that you put lipstick on. I don't think that's what the goal in fact I know it's exactly what Doug Whitley it's at. He's not gonna do that's what John McDermott said he's not gonna do as far as the question what is the bill's foundation of the tweets on this. Bob team checked weeks and great question she is the difference. Com I'm assuming he means or would I don't know that's a long term injury don't think it is rate. It was a broken well. Now according. Back. Yet there's some answers. I'm. He says Darius is suspect to the extent that you can't count economy only played half a season I would agree we. But there is real develop their attitude activity Donald do the talk to the new defense of like coach here go to waffle and and talked album art so Perry's just in passing and all of I don't know what he's got in my but he he just said to me with a smile on the face. I got to plant remarks. And at that that's a good as he needs a place in us the lead someone to get its attention its that you can't. Be off after the season for selfish reasons. And just can't do it so I'll quote waffles at me was. Very content and new year are you are one of the stars obviously one of the best. You're this one of the stars on this team one of the stars of this franchise one of the faces of this franchise so you can't we need to be able to tunnel and you weekend and week out every single day to be at practice to be you know in the games to be in meetings to be on times everything we need to be able to tell you because. We're gonna keep building upon this thing upon this foundation and we keep talking about. That means we're gonna bring you probably younger guys up through the draft and they need to be able to look up to you just like you look up to a Kyle wins right now you know so. That's probably his plans as they did him understand. This is your talent. But we need you to use your talent not just on the field but to inspire the rest of the guys around you and that's what helps the entire defense in the entirety. The time his long Casper Marcel Darius at. To you know play the coming young guy card you know I'm and joining me is that I dreamed it to be a player and I just I think he is part of the foundation on which they like to build for. For a variety of reasons including his his contract and how difficult it would be to move him. But Doug Whaley sat down with Chris Brown the other day on that day interview which we played it in its in tired yesterday it is up on her website it has been up on our web sites and over the weekend. And one of the things they talked about was the coaching search and and maybe the qualities that Willie was looking for in identifying and presenting his this election is coach to the ownership here's what Doug Whaley told Chris Brown about that. The main focus we want it is a guy a coach. That had core values. But also looked at a long term vision we're not looking to just make the playoffs. We were looking for a coach that agreed with us that we wanna build it from the foundation up a team that can consistently compete for championships. That's Doug Whaley talking about how the coach was identified long term vision. Which not necessarily means you know there sacrificed in the 20s17 seasons but I think they they don't just wanna. The impression I got from the interview and we'll get more from Chris Brown on this at 1 o'clock the impression I got was that. It wouldn't it won't be enough to stay in the play after. It won't be enough tested too and this week on eleven wins ten wins in 2017 and make the playoffs. And then retrench inevitable part where they wanna make the playoffs clearly of the drought notwithstanding they wanna make the playoffs in 2017. And onward you know and I I think that's important to consider when you think about what Sean McDermott's job is and and what Doug will release approaches will be four. I mean you'd you'd have to think about it that way you know you make it to the playoffs. And let's say you make it to the playoffs and you end up getting blown out in the playoffs and then. The next year you go back to you know seven and seven to nine wins and you don't make it in for the next ten to fifteen years we're gonna be talking about the same thing. You know it's another drop in May 2001 won here in minutes another drought that's not we want here you know we want the team and organization that we consistently see. In prime time gains we consistently see. In the playoffs consistently see just like the patriots had been for the last 100 years ago for the last like ten years you know. Is in the playoffs every year. You have to have the mindset that we know we're going to be in a playoffs now is to the point of giving over the hump and get into the super balls that's the mindset that the patriots have. That's what he wants to build here and in order to do that you have to have the right players. But you gotta look at what you have already. And then build you know outward from there. What's the strongest part of the bill's foundation right now and what should they build upon. Moving forward give us a call Wayans and our Twitter poll 8030550. The number toll free 1888550. To 550 or via Twitter. A couple of tweets on this back to yankees who tweets and tear down think you'll find people are OK with it. Maybe but you know what I have to it was true calling yankees LT gets good ideas. I don't think from what I know Doug Whaley. I don't think he is thinking what fans would be okay with what fans would accept. I think they it's a concerted effort to to build it the right way to not have a quick fixes we said a minute ago. To build at the right way even even if it down alienate some of the fan base who say why didn't you. Rip it down and start over again because I don't think that's the way to approach and I think they believe. They have a foundation to build upon and that's the obviously what we're talking about on Twitter today and I also believe they feel as if but it's just a couple of fixes to make this happen but they they wanna bring in the first of all the right players the right coaches which where they're in the process of doing right now. And moreover at the right core values as Whaley said in an interview with Chris Brown the right core values to build upon in the future like. This is what it means to be a Buffalo Bill this is what it means. This is how you approach the off season this is how we handle training via this is how we practice this is how we play on Sundays I believe. That's what Doug Whaley talking about not just personnel. Not just a coaching staff all of them very important but the core values I think they're trying to establish that. And that's why they brought in John McDermott and I think they they can do it without tearing it down. To agree I mean you don't you're not gonna tear of this entire team down because you have real pieces on this team we don't know you know the free agents that we're talking we don't know what's gonna happen with them but you have other guys that have come in here through the draft. That will be a key part of your team moving forward. He just happy you have and office cells with tops and scoring off yet and number one rushing team off the have a very good offensive line you have a defense of line that's a good defense of mine now understand that how was getting up there and aids in. And the on the team. Combined with some key veterans on the team and so you need to build upon those guys you need to is keep adding new talent. Around those key pieces that you have right now so that you have a core group that will play together for years to come and message you want we talked about last week the Seahawks. You want a group that's like them they've been playing together now for five or six years and had been in the playoffs. Consistently every single year if not their right around the playoffs you know and it's because those guys have been playing together so long. They have the experience together if you keep oranges you know one time fix gonna bring this guy for one year. You never have a core group would guys. That's playing together and understands how to play with each other every single year and yeah if you keep doing that. Just like you know hiring a new coach every two years you know you never have. That continuity never had that consistency and that's what you need to to keep make it into the playoffs and. His call from John and did its job welcome. Gut warrant on that they what which of these guys everyday I wanted to tactic you tackle that in subnet that I really thought was important. Not written up the points so. Trying to keep it together they're trying to hold on does something well they. The most important factors. If you catapulting down you are over correction with the people that we have more of those arguments start over Berkshire's book starting over with a single. Players who have. So many years deleted there don't eat so even if you start all over brand new. York film you're still within two years away from probably is retiring in major players what gridlock on the money CNET so. Keeping what you had eaten continuity with the team together. I think right now most beneficial in they can do and one other thing region is important I think that that position on the scene right now these. I'd be right back and the worse it got to be our situation what linebackers they got that we see exactly it's been great and I. Okay thank you John from Vegas I'd at its worst it's race right now. DB. You know overall the entire DB as a unit corner back to safety just don't know who's going to be on the team that is snapping that's the big question mark. And wide receiver. Being the wide receiver group you know you don't know when you're gonna have on the team makes it only person you do know if any lock and so. You just don't know what's going on in those who skill position group. The call from Scott and talent host welcome. You know guard spot or two sports where per foreigners. The strongest part of the bill's foundation is the single strongest. Part of the Pittsburgh. And it in their since we've let's redeploy and the fans that struck out it should. They come out every week they they spend their money. They never turned their backs of others are strongest and he should. And marketable job I keep hearing you talk about general sale are built on oil front offices and that and some figures this team is a loaded with al-Qaeda. Which are on the court Sammy Watkins. And maybe intact need every team has reporters there are they couldn't. We do not have no amnesty and that's where we haven't made play. Since. You know seventeen years or whatever so I don't understand where you keep bringing in this L. Alarming coming X explain what I think in which got I think that they have talent that's pretty commensurate with. That the record really and I think incidents at this pretty consistently all along back when they were seven and seven in the season it's that this is a 717. They play like the 717. I think they have that amount of talent mediocre talent. There's some and that's get -- quarter pole you know like what's the strongest part what would you build upon what's the strongest part of foundation I do think there's talent here. And it is pretty you know in the compared to 31 of teams in the NFL it's pretty much a middle of the road you what you would agree to that. Here well I I don't know what the record show that but I mean there's. There's so many teams in the Albert have so much more virulent anti he even you know. Deemed under. Its just. I keep clear about that Errol and other from opposite rod and some such great L. I don't think they've brought in peril added well I guess that was just by for our I agree they would call. When messages there's there's injuries play antsy in the news because we know operate as I tell you why a lot of them camcorders. And every team has entered. Yes they do so every every team at the plate and they bring up. Till then they get the job done. Sometimes we do most times we don't so I don't injuries as a as an excuse. I think I Allison David Martin says that you say. Most times we don't well say that tell that to Lorenzo Alexander words background. Among others who were pressed in the service this year right right Preston disservice because of injuries who I think did do the job go ahead. I mean you know every team does have injuries that every team doesn't have. You know like a point to stars going on their team go down in one season you know you don't have a Sammy Watkins. You're number two were out wide receivers consistently in and out of the lineup. You don't have was so McCoy who's the key to your offense go now for couple weeks you don't have you know your second round pick go down. And I don't injuries play a factor I also think in this meant maybe Amylin Scott on this. Part of the job of the general managers to back your roster wrap it you and I think I did a pretty good job of that pretty I'm not tell you there's championship level talent on this team Scott but. I think the record fairly accurately reflects how good this this. Talent pool was on the buffalo roster this year seven are gonna break when we come back we're gonna hear from Jacob shalom Jake Shawmut Hamburg native frontier rights of graduate. You beat graduate who has the putter for the Green Bay Packers are playing in the NFC championship game on Sunday. Jake jump up ever coming up next it is John Murphy Joseph presented by Novo from one to strike and this is Buffalo Bills treaty. With more of that John Murphy Shia. Back to the show John Murphy and Donald Jones we will resume our discussion on the Buffalo Bills for the moment to. And you can have flown in your thoughts and comments on that but. The NFC championship game coming up on Sunday the Green Bay Packers headed to Atlanta. To play the Atlanta Falcons in the winner goes the Super Bowl joining us right now on the subway fresh take up like an important part of the Packers play out piece. Jake jumped from Hamburg New York he is the Packers punter Andy joins us on the subway fresh take outlined Jake John Murphy and Donald Jones here thank you were much re what does. They give revenues I'm. Really happy to be here. It Jake you know I know you grew up in in Hamburg you went to UV and bought both the so you had a girl woods' armor we've been. It. Nice nice the heat just set me up take you to look at the first question and doubt to set me up. I tell you what I am a fan of uncle Joe's diner down the road here and south western and I understand that's where he used you've had your first job when you're a teenager. It and it sure they're this sloshing in move my way up the bussing tables and his Red Cross the street basically not mean that kind of walked up there rode my bike sometimes for a could actually drive really. When it when my kids were young we go their like every other Saturday morning I love that place. Definitely eight they appointed times in stuff my face. And as you work hard enough to make it up to management that an. Jake tell us the story though grown up a bill SpinRite you as you said you grow up right down that's the street you grew up following the Buffalo Bills here right. Yeah always been you know my team in you know rope lodged an arm and cheered them on our break unfortunately in. But you know grew up watching Brian Mormon and you know he's kind. Collateralized and really watch it broke down film and you know just diet are built stand. What did you see from Brian Mormon on film and how how have you used that in your career and your NFL career. Just the power had behind his leg in the I knew ahead track background in that part of the reason why joined track for a couple years and high school on just to develop mile lake strengthen. On I was just audition such great honor just had. A lot of power great direction and consistent too you know and I mean I feel like you peak became a fan favorite and you know I Iraq does Jersey do and that's kind of cool to be able to have my islanders announced. Yeah they had yet on answers. Did you like the true. Specialty art. It now tell us a little bit about just surrender you went to bust state terrorism and you went to university of buffalo. And then you ask where you went from. You went back and forth between my three different teams that you tell us about that a little bit. Yeah I mean. Earlier this movie. What the update for years. And I kind of let me decided that out there are gonna go to school there but I was gonna play that up playing transferring UB and I only walked you know Richard a year and just candidate wide receivers scout team. Just. You know they're also they're under and we had a coaching change and I was able to switch the unearned. Ended up finishing my two years not disparity guy under the full right scholarship and so 2012 gaming expecting now might get it somewhere where I'll go for like a rookie minicamp or something but. All 2000 KB. 2012 game and nothing happened with any team. You know got a job and stuck with my training and I went down dude come vine and Phoenix and that's where the browns actually saw me. And really jumpstart in my at a career and they brought me for a couple months. Released media had to work out with Tampa Bay and they did sign me until the end of 2013. And and then it started the whole back and forth game between the Tampa. Jets Tampa jet and then finally the third time was the charm with ample and that my percent of the semester. Took Jacque we're talking about what two or three year period where you were not in the NFL but you were trying to get in the NFL right trying to. Work other jobs I think buffalo athletic club right and it just hang in there long enough how how long were you prepared to give it. Actually took four years for this five cuts the final. It and yeah worked at Bob let let a club and it's gonna do a little bit of everything there you know selling memberships stand training some people and it worked out perfect is out either worked out or after and then kicked before after and just really helped me stick with my training in. And that really gave myself no limit settlement so I was gonna make it happen one way or another and I'm like he can't ignore me for too long Suggs does not that the door and down. You know finally. No one the browns picked me up you know I just. Finally getting in there is no just please give my name in the system and then going on multiple teams you know getting my name out there even more and you know out of just finally land last year and get that first seat under my belt was just huge and there I mean now here I am in with the Packers and be playing in Nancy championship. Right so I was just about to say use you know you work different jobs. You went back and forth between you know no disrespect to Tampa in and Cleveland and also the jets which you end up landing. And Green Day one of the premier franchises in the NFL franchise that seriously around in the of the playoffs is not in the playoffs every year. What was that like to Miami air obviously you signed here what August 30 this year. Yep I mean it's they're incredible feeling I mean grown up as a kid I mean it's so been a die hard bills then I mean. Mean what kid doesn't think you know Green Bay Packers for NFL football you know I just and just the whole winning tradition in you know Lambeau Field I mean that's just. Which of its own harming the environment. Just ridiculous than. You know when I got that call and knew I was gonna be coming here is just. I was is that kind of in shock as I actually thought it can be going to Cleveland against first they called in. And then the next day is my agent told me is green beta echoing me and I just like. Caller I know he'll let go. Is really exciting. Now I have right now name rules of I'm not sure you've heard of embodies another dad went to UB insects in me right now seeing you be stand up. Do you think you land out in Green Bay and you have another guy out there from UV Jane starts. You guys have a pipeline in Green Bay like what's going on between Green Bay in university at buffalo. I don't know I mean maybe should that cold blooded connection in. I mean that's the kind of oil first thing that came here. Some people are saying little beacon on in the snow or kick in the Mike. I've seen some I think that's an all around him in. I've grown up doing it thrilling afternoon I feel like it's really something that Bennett did. Benefited me in really helped me groan and arms become upon landing in Iraqi kind of kicking off conditions and I mean cold just another day permit. They chum on the Lima this Green Bay Packers potter getting set for the and FC title game coming up Sunday in Atlanta it Jacob this year and I know you kicked departed most of last year Tampa Bay but. What you've done this year in the success you've had. You feel like you have now this year maybe establish yourself as the NFL potter that teams will always take a look at regardless of you know the circumstances around you on a particular roster. Yet yet definitely think so you know I mean to get people see that the under my belt now and especially be able to come out here in Green Bay and kick the way it did in you know like like it said in the cold. And good and consistent basis now. In the really feel like. I got my name up there. Good down like amongst coaches and other teams in. You know so I think people know who I am a little more and you know know that I'm good reliable in a consistent potter so. You know and I mean just got to just make you want to work more and you know get better and better and just keep if my name out there. You don't get the I received dealt with Lambeau all season long but you're you're kind of I wonder if you Gillick again to break. In the post season here you kicked in. A jury world last week had gone to the at Georgia Dome and if you win you go to use in a plane reliance that stadium I mean you got a chance to kick endorse the rest of the way here is that a break for it. If he didn't get spoiled a little bit you know look at night. You know definitely. You know on the outside and some of the conditions that we had this year's you know negative degrees here single digit. It's a nice break on the body and you know 99 hitting Iraq. But in the policies geared toward. You know then he's and then. You know definitely be able no that. Our last games they're gonna be indoors here you know and I'll bet falcons it was but I mean. Very in the down in Houston you know can be indoors again is so look in the take care of business this week and a continuing narrative. Now obviously you've been kicking you know very well this year did a good job this past week but. You're not taken too much with Aaron Rodgers at the helmet quarterback so was it like being on the team with him in on the sidelines watching him do the things that he is no. Incredible and I mean. And he always that I can see it on TV here here Bowden and I mean when he here and see if firsthand and on the field just to be the thing that he does and how it moves on the pocket and just make. Extend plays and make just. Brady throws than you know I mean he's got all the guys around them you know it's just enough. Full team effort but I mean he's not just the true leader of the team and it's just really cool to be part of it and now an awesome experience but. Yeah I mean any time I'm not really punting but I'm holding more it's always the good things so it's will be holding a lot more that game. Speaking of holding. Tell us about the sequence at the end of the Dallas game my the other day and and really what your kicker had to do when you're part of that operation mean woody at 350 yarder more field goals in the last minute and after the game the other day Sunday. I mean he trusted 56 yarder and you know. No we thought those you know as. That's Pollock gamers that they go to that game and the only three potential game winners who. We we got that one and then you know they tied it up and the page other we're just like you know we're gonna come down to us again we're gonna win this game though. In our nation has its own routine it you know so we just kind I work with Bret my snapper and you know we just kinda. You are thing you know snap and hold in May and kick and that pairing is mine and we go up there and we know that they have a timeout left. Is pretty similar to the Chicago game it is same thing edit timeout were like we're gonna be snapped in this either way. If anything they called time out fine you know making just gonna get an extra kick for practice anyways so. Got that first corner and you know. This so called the timeout and making trust that person or it just kind. Same exact thing (%expletive) I mean as we work for all week and an off season long in you know just another wrap in I mean. Second one was a little. Area thirdly is. But is this snuck in there and I mean as just. An awful feeling it means all licking his come run down field like that in no you know just the really hard fought game. Know a lot of emotion than I mean her make major in almost kicked it in the game like that is you know there's some special but the end is really will be part of the. Speaking of emotions Jacque we're watching the video here in my buddy Alex Van Pelt who used to work here. Basically cry like a baby mining and over and then hugged Erin Rogers did you catch that later to see that video and what's up with that is that it's okay. Stay. Emotional game I'm not that you know they're all excited than I mean we are. Now who you dollars and locker room after two and I mean it. Is. If we're trying so be it is is that type of game and it is well worth the. To go matches before it went to go when you have a guy like Aaron Rodgers does he always keep you guys that feeling that. You're gonna win the game just because you have him on the team. Oh yes I mean with that when we had a 35 seconds left that they've added up like we all do as I or you can feel the arranged so you know we're gonna make sure we're ready though. It's I mean when he called and going out. Emits he's only need to around the table is just kind of we all the data was like are right let's do this in. It's just great to have at that leader like that. You know police and our team and we believe it and you know just. Our whole team just really stuck together together and really cancel out all the noise on the outside and the most important thing. I mean these last few games you know toward the end these and then post season so far I mean just the knowledge huge team effort though. I mean looking to do it again here in Atlanta. When asked you this about. The fans out there it is John always talks about the packer fans how nice they are out this of you guys weren't doing that well in the beginning of the season. Where they still the same nice type of fans are where they let you guys. They get a few more here in years get a little frustrated I mean you know they expect that. Take care of business than you know we expect their stuff do the same you know I'm the worst thing we can do it letter fans down so you know let that bother us and you know we wanna get those. We in the you know keep that energy flown in I mean once you start really getting rolling you could just feel it and especially Phoenix stadium I mean firemen. It's just the thing though. I mean. The fans have been awesome and I mean we understand the frustration early in the season but I mean that's that's football and you know I just. Can't listen to Q much though and you know just an ethically you know and ourselves and you know we'll you know let game Atlanta against the giants was the environment was. Just insane and by The Who they have ever seen. In the football games so far and it's just awesome to get that type win or less game at Lambeau and you know there they've got her back and you know it really reminded awful lot just you know the fan base but he. Just the whole homey feeling. He'll behind it and you know I'm really enjoyment timing green bit. We're all jealousy particular family our friends from Hamburg you be coming down to Atlanta this weekend. Yeah. Get you people you know had to get my parents down there of course. They come up to a few games. Led be able to get them appeared Lambeau watch field and you know. Figured opportunity championship. Got to get him down there you know though. It's that's against funniest support and just really looking forward to view the. What were reported congratulations on your success and on your perseverance really to. To fight your way into the league and then there hang out and not your plane pertinent to the Super Bowl where as I several jealous of your Jacob really important thank you very much. Really appreciate and they began Bradley got. Okay Jake jumped from right down the road in Hamburg frontier high school university at buffalo potter. And as we said he'd he'd bounce around 464 years waiting for a chance and now he's a fine in the NFC title game. If you're gonna die with a pamphlet I would I can identify with a pap like that there's so many guys in the league that that really can identify with that type of pat it doesn't just come easy everybody's. Obviously not a first or second round pick you know there are a lot of guys in this league that. Went undrafted and and bounced around a different tees and end up landing on one team and it works out it comes down to. You know the player itself. And continuing to work but also the skiing. The team that they go to and if it's the right fit as another guy like that James Harrison. You know look at him now what 3738. Years old still in the lead getting it done he got cut a couple of times early in his career you know and now he's one of the best in the game. Thanks Stuart. And at a sports update from one bills drive John Murphy Donald Jones here and are one buffalo broadcast studio it one bills drive and joined right now by. Bill sits at a from Buffalo Bills that I'm Chris. Round Chris good afternoon thanks to a minor today through things we're here to talk about a variety of things including we want you to weigh in and our Twitter poll and talk about I guess. You know with a coaching staff with no news that today about coordinators or any the other vacancies we will talk with you about that but. I I felt it was a good data kind of take stock of where this roster is where this a football department is a week after. John McDermott was named as the new head coach and you can really interesting interview with Doug Whitley last week which I think when opener Webb said over the weekend so. I think break for five days old interview which I think that kind of under the radar because of the coaching hire but we played the entire interview here on the show yesterday it's been up on the web site for several days. And I thought Whaley had a pretty good blueprint for where he sees as football department moving forward. Yeah I would agree with that in. You know I had the opportunity to actually sit and talk with duct probably about a good 1015 minutes before we even started rolling camera tape and you know I I kinda had a sense of what his vision was before we even started doing the QNA. So I think a lot of what's been interpreted. Strictly from the interview is in stark contrast to how. I interpreted talking to him of course nobody else was privy to. You know what I was talking to Doug about you know for the previous ten minutes before we get started and I think it. And gives me completely different perspective on a lot of what he said well I wanna put one X. Or from the interview which again we had on the air yesterday in the entire nuclear up on our website right now and it deals with. You know where the team has right now in terms of yes the seventeen year playoff drought the expectations for the coming year and and kind of building up the foundation they've already established here's what Doug Whaley said in answer to chris' question about. You know the level of patients from seeing results is what the general manager of the bills had to say. To the fans I say we recognize the seventeen years absolutely. The were asking you to recognize we're trying to build something for the long term sustainability. Of success. And I can't give your time frame as you won your two but I will say. Every game like coach says you'll see a competitive team out there. In position that won't be themselves and be in position to try to win and you'll see the growth in the team. They may not reflect in the wins and losses put as you go I test. Agree that the way were building it was coach McDermott I tests will show that word came grainy ten attraction to our ultimate goal. Now when he says he wants to build this thing from the founders of from the ground up in your mind what does he say. I don't I think he's talking about the philosophical approach of this team this organization. I think that's why and we hurt Terri but analysts say it. When he introduced shop here we were looking for a person with a long term vision he wasn't talking about x.s and knows personnel. Even coaches he was talking about a philosophical. Approach. In. Crafting a perennial contender. In the National Football League. And Sean McDermott I think just in maybe the brief exposures that bills fans have had to him it's clear. At least it is to me that this is a man with a plan. A guy who's very methodical by nature. Who seems to have. The steps that are down the line already crafted. Maybe not finalized but. There's a list there I mean he he's got a B and C detailed. To the letter. But DE FGH I. And will be home and shaped. Refined. As he history being seen and I think that is what it's clear that's what Terry to rule was looking for this we don't put Doug Whaley was looking for. A guy that could come in. And only be a head coach that could improve the product on the field but do it in a way. Through a philosophical. Approach to how you pull a team together. And get them to operate. With the same mode. And that's gonna carry through the organization is well it's for me being here. As long as I have covering this team this is the first coach that I've seen hired. On you know he's got a good football Reza and we all know that those four top ten finishes with defense and all that stuff but I think it was. A far more important for the put rule is for don't really for Jim monus who spearheaded the search to find a coach they had. A long range. Vision that could be accomplished through changing the philosophical approach the organization in terms of how to build a winner. You know and talking to Doug Whaley. Prior to the time when the interview began. It's clear to me he believes he's got. Foundational pieces here in terms of personnel so when he's talking about foundation. You know in the Q&A that we had together I didn't hear him talking about personnel there I heard him talking about. The philosophy of how we're gonna run this thing. Is the foundation that they wanna build now. Because they believe the foundational. Philosophical approach of Sean McDermott and his vision of how to build a winner. Coupled with. The foundational pieces they have already here in terms of personnel but you're talking about Ronald Darby and offensive line that you could argue is four fifths. Above ever I mean for those five players are clearly above average in some of them are young promising players that are gonna get even better. You know foundational pieces like that coupled with Sean McDermott's methodical determined. Disciplined approach. Is going to generate a winner. That will not only be ten in 61 year and get into the playoffs but win year after year after year after year. Chris Brown bill sits at a Buffalo Bills that common studio whether you're welcome to join the conversation it. 8030550. Or 1888550. To 550 Chris went numb. When Doug Weight Leary and when Sean McDermott talk about the long term vision some people interpret that as meaning they're gonna sacrifice the short term and some people think. All right they mean they're gonna tear apart and you know burn it down and Starr from the ground up did you get that impression from Whaley talking to him over the weekend. I don't I didn't get the sense that he's talking about scorched earth or going back to three in thirteen I mean. Verify no you and I were here for when. The salary cap purge happened going from the 99 season to 2000 or 2002001. As it was where Phillips there was a Nate. You know is jettisoned and any high priced veteran on the roster was also was scrapped as well and that was scorched earth in 2001 they went three and thirteen. I don't believe that that's what he's talking about again. I think Doug Whaley the general manager who believes there is talent this team. And we were talking about this guy's in November and December when this team was struggling to stay above 500. This is a team with talent on its roster and the biggest problem is that talent has not been maximized on the field. Be it through player development be it through steam and that falls on the coaching staff primarily and that's why I think they were looking for someone. Who could philosophically changed the way. The team operates the organization operates in terms of their daily approach whether it's in a meeting room on the practice field. See our offseason in the offseason doing the right things in all of that stuff. It's very clear to me that Sean McDermott believes there is a right way of doing everything that's involved. In what ultimately ends up being the product on the field. And I think that's what Doug was referenced saying they needed a long term vision. In reshaping. What the approaches every day in this building whether you're a football player whether you're a staff member whether your coach. There is gonna be a universal vision here now. Going forward and I think that's probably the biggest difference from every other coach that we've seen come through the door. Since Wade Phillips not necessarily deterred him. I don't see it now and it's not necessarily. A one player can fix this thing I mean it's. Now it's that now and Doug said that in the interview he said this is not going to be. A quick fix so I think some people's they probably taken a step backward we're gonna blow the whole thing up it's not a blow up. In terms of the roster I think if there's anything that has dramatically changed here. It's going to be. The image in which. Sean McDermott believes things should be done. Front every facet of building a team into perennial winner it's clear that he knows and he said it is the in the press conference I know what it looks like. I noted smells like and know what it tastes like he's been there. And I think he's bringing that here with him and quite frankly I think it's something that this team sorely. Sorely needs when you think about. The lack of success over the past decade and a half plus. There are a lot of players here who don't know what winning is about at the professional level they've never experienced and and I think it's different in the pros and it is in county there's a lot of successful guys. From the college ranks but they have not won squat here. And I think Sean McDermott's gonna bring that kind of the vision. Which will philosophically build be built from the foundation up I think it's a philosophical approach that don't really talking about here and Sean McDermott is the ringleader. Our Twitter poll deals with this issue what's the strongest part of the bill's foundation we can invite you to. Win and at about 625 votes and so far what's the strongest part of the foundation for the Buffalo Bills 34% of you say. It's the offensive line 29% say defense of line. 23% say skill positions wide receiver running back 14% say say other lest I work in a phone call here is he calling from. Carolina yes it's a go ahead. Yes I yet don't get it but yeah I think. Is part is that deep offensive line. I mean they could at the game that we played it. We did you assist our. We're good defense. One in particular view. Whether it was per second or third down and you know I don't think it was atrocious. Especially that hurt Miami. Well you play well in the first Miami game or the second actually for that but they have put their right there the defensive line is a perfect example of what we're talking about here. You know we've talked about how. The talent on the field has not been maximized. Through scheme coaching what have you got Marcel arias Jerry Hughes and Kyle Williams. All of them had double digit sacks. In 2014. Mean is a team that went from 54 sacks in 2014 to 21 sacks in 2015 a franchise low. So. Are you gonna tell me that because they only gets violent sex all of a sudden marshaled arias. You know Kyle Williams in Jerry Hughes two of whom are multiple probable talents the other guy could make an argument. Going to the Pro Bowl after back to back and say season's suddenly they're no good anymore though there's talent on this roster just hasn't been maximize and I think that's why they felt. In a philosophical. Change. Of approach is what was necessary in the new coach that they hired sought someone who had. Also the intestinal fortitude to carried out day by day because it's going to be a grind yet trying to institute that. In a place where success has not been experienced not been tasted in any way shape or form. And when that doesn't happen. Players on this roster who may not be as self motivated as some others it can be a heavy lift. So they needed a coach that not only had division. But also had the intestinal fortitude to carried out and if we know anything about Sean McDermott in terms of all the racers that everybody's done over the past couple weeks. He seems to have that. Am glad you said that too because I get it you know coaches are very important in it but it's not x.s and owns in solely. I think it's also about it's I guess you call it motivation but it's about creating an atmosphere where. I'll say you don't get a half season off because you can't. You know adhere to the substance abuse policy yes I'm talking about are so there that should not nor I hope it doesn't happen under Sean McDermott. They're camping atmosphere where that is accepted or acceptable or. It certainly is detrimental to the team I mean that's part of it I think you know matches x.s and knows as far as coaching and leadership but created an atmosphere where that. That just that kind of stuff just never happens to us. This too early you have to have the atmosphere the thought process that. You know you're gonna make it to the wells because every single day you come to work and you work to do to the playoffs right in with that mentality I know. We're gonna make it I trust the guys next to me everybody's here is is working hard to do it here and we know we have the talent when you have that. So McDermott has to do now is to bring that type of mentality back and it's going to be a crime every day to bring it back to guys that are making. You know a hundred million dollars guys that have been in trouble and things like that this is not how you get it done you get it done this way I didn't have seen and that's what he's you know. Got to do now a couple of tweets on this gruesome on this issued John Africa I don't tweets and are we in a rebuild and then David Marciano tweets and please ask him you I guess to set the record straight. The bills are not starting to rebuild everyone is convinced so. Are we rebuilt and no I guess I don't. So we are the the only thing that's being shifted here is that again is the philosophical approach of the team. Which is going to be and Sean McDermott's image com. And it and maybe. Maybe the organization the cut just as little as a couple years ago was guilty. Of falling into the trap of let's just get a coaching here taking Guinness in the post season. And maybe that's part of the reason. There Rex Ryan was hired let's get a big name coaches into the playoffs before you can take its roster make the defense a little. A little bit better if not hold steady and bring in the offensive coaches capable of getting offense on track because. Let's let's face it a few years ago the offense was the side of the ledger that was lacking. And he comes in. And the defense takes a big step back. And the offense improves as plant so you know that the scale kind of tipped there there and the playoffs we're not. Part of the equation and you know maybe that's maybe that was a little short sided and I think. If that was in fact the viewpoint. And in hindsight looking at that. I think it it could have gone in a in large part to why. We see this long term vision approach being adopted. And Sean McDermott being the face of. Chris Brown bills insider from Buffalo Bills that come. Joins us in studio series Paula west Seneca go ahead Paul welcome. I got dead requested one. The problem with the fine in the offensive coordinator eventually do a better quarterback problem. Number two. Have they reached out to frank Reich discharged because no I in the third question is that offensive line coach. I'll Laporte blew his name is she's kind of a madman and a battle may lead to you is the best I'll go with today's Italy or Canada hang up a little. Okay we've got three good points arm. You're gonna you hung up and I are we have problems faced with pirate an offensive coordinator yet Chris I don't feel that it are we into the process now. All indications that I've been able to get and gather is that this is going to be a methodical approach here I think. Sean McDermott. Knows. The importance. Of that role on his coaching staff especially knowing he comes from the defense side of the ball. So I don't think he's going to be making. Any hasty decisions. With who he feels is going to best fit that role now does that mean he's content. To wait on. Maybe a couple of other candidates that he has in mind who are still playing football and coaching football now. I would be surprised if that is the case and so yes you you can hold your water weight on that until those guys become available and you can. Talked to those guys and see if there a better option and maybe some of the people you've already spoken with. I think we also should dismiss the fact that or by the way there's about five other teams that are still looking for offensive coordinators also. And and there's no. Race to the finish line it seems in terms of who they're looking for readers so I think the it's important to not make a rush to judgment. For a title that's so important for this team and I get the sense that coach McDermott is taking that methodical approach weighing everything. You know talking to people that have worked with John McDermott been around John McDermott and I know you've had a lot of interviews here on your show two guys. This is not a guy that seems to make any decision lightly and he weighs. Everything I mean he is detail oriented to a tee. And so I think. Knowing the gravity of this decision. I gotta believe he's going through with a fine tooth call. All the caller also brought up you know the uncertainty about Tyrod Taylor future I would think it's obviously a discussion point I don't know that's. The problem is we I don't know that there's a problem iron and offensive coordinator here but certainly if I'm an OC candidate that's right at the top of my list it's not the you know it's not going to be which office to a pickets which quarterback to get to work with them and can I have some input on that would you agree Chris. I would agree with that and I think you know people like rule one of the animated call on Tyrod Taylor I think they got a if you offensive coordinator here and they have to know what kind of offensive scheme they're going to be running. You know was Tyrod Taylor skill sets suited to that. You know because if it's not it's. You're gonna make that task even more difficult. To produce consistently and I offense let alone win by scoring points consistently so I think there's a lot that still has to be added. To the puzzle here before you can make. A definitive decision. At that all important is and that decision really does an actor made until what march 11 Seattle what's the rush. Now I'm aren't as important also point out that that decision. Might not necessarily be about the money and the money is not that be when you talk about quarterbacks in the sleep while you need that guy at that position that fits what you're doing. I mean yes you can kind of no pun intended here tailor make you know some aspects of your scheme to fit the player you have at that position. But I think also you know if you're coming in here and you know you've got out West Coast scheme. That you know largely goes horizontal with your passing game. Is that necessarily the best fit for Tyrod Taylor maybe he's better suited for Bruce aryan style offense that. You know uses a lot of play action takes the shots down the field. That's for the offensive staff coach McDermott. And the personnel department to determine but I don't think you're gonna be able to make an accurate determination until you know. Hey this is what we got the playbook. This is what our offensive coordinator likes to call. And these are bread and butter plays we like to use if not every week every one or two games and is this the guy that can execute those on a consistent enough basis where we can be in position to win football. And the other the last point about coach waffles come run in the coach via a while who brought in the coat off the defense of line. I'm sullen Donald this Chris had a conversation with coach waffled two days ago now. Could guy I mean he did yell at me which is it's a I think a lot of people are forming their opinions based on the hard knocks clip which certainly is part probably part of this picture but. This is an experienced guy I guess I'm reluctant to. To characterize the guy's whole you know being based on. What a couple of minutes on hard knocks them mean you know I mean colonias question specifically for you but to say the guys yeah others. Rivera I mean you look at the defense of climate data out this is an expert out there pretty pretty talented and pretty good consistent defense sublime when all of those guys healthy on the field so. Whatever he's doing. It's obviously got it done where he's been you know Selena look forward to this team avenue mapping could dialect Marceau terrorist needs again. And an I'll just say it is and down you can affirm or you know denied but I think. The most important thing that a coach has to get across to a player. Is I can make you better. No matter what coaching style a coach has as long as he can sell the player on the fact that. I know enough about this game and maybe specifically about this position reckoning your better players seniority are. If if they can convince the player of that. You abort you make me better because about a better player on the field more and produce it more and then I make him more money. And that's you know that's something that Rubin says you know I just I connect to this couple weeks ago right you know he said just teach me don't tell me though yeah let me just teach army it's show me how to do better and if it's like you said that you didn't make me believe that you can make me better. Then you have got to file your vision I'm gonna follow which you say to do this is what you tell me to do I'm gonna follow that but if you just come and you just yell every day every day. That's not getting through to the players today. But if you teaching it will get to. You had doesn't grow for hat sizes for no reason. I had you know guy and just the shame of it is. I was talented enough to get there without all that stuff it was a really good when they hit seven under fire early in his you really wouldn't hit 700 home runs. But he was up to five tool player and I was a five tool player and then you know you start. Going to the needle in all the sudden he can't run like he used to it. Let me team play outfield is just it was and is tough to watch me with that kind of talent to mess it up that way just in. I'm Stan this first Clements too don't you think people come. Put less stock in a pitcher who might be using steroids as opposed to slugger I think what hurt him was how long he played. And was still effective at an advanced stage. Despite a huge number of innings I mean act guy. When when you're 21 and your kitchen 230 innings geared nobody blinked and I when you're 38. And you still put 200 innings up there you people in there like the way that loads doesn't jive with you know how old you are right now so. You know and there's I think we've all heard the story or read the stories that say you know each GH helps with recovery meaning refer again for a guy that old. You know use that stuff and now suddenly. You're feeling good after three days rest and you're like holy cow I got a whole another day before I got to throw again this is Greg. That's what they're much more peaceful thing for you when you guys I believe baseball Major League Baseball is better now than it was mr. Europe because asteroids that are essentially. But he wouldn't argue that. I think it's it's would be better in a while. Ago what they don't talk about as much all I just think the players that are more skilled and its matches you know four run home run three run home runs its. It's more active basic baseball more first to third. They have been on these battered. Once insisted that he market. And a runner if there aren't a talk football if you 8030550. Tool free 1888550. 2550. Talking about the bills where there you can weigh air reporter Paul Crist is with this for the next few minutes there's been a pretty constant stream of candidate. Report means. Reporting on candidates for the office coordinator position Chris. Latest names came up over the last 24 hours. A body Alex Van Pelt Green Bay Ken Dorsey maybe. I'm not putting much stock in any of these reports going back to what you said about coach McDermott and as sort of style and what he's trying to get done. What are I I think coach return right now is the equivalent of playing in the field have he's he's playing the field anybody who's available that he believes. Is of potential interest to him for this position. I think he's talking to now. And it's my contention that there are other people that he can't talk to right now we're still working. That he probably intends to talk to at a future date when they do become available and that's why I don't think there's any rush. To get somebody in that post just for the sake of doing position. This call from my Kevin and Cheektowaga Kevin go ahead you're on the year. Guys I'm really close and was parade of picture successful defense coordinators that have to they deserve it. But then all of a sudden they think they know office. Is there any chance this new guy is gonna give B office to somebody knows that and keepers nose out of it. I think that's why he's taking so long to really you know are the right guy because he wants he knows that he knows defense now obviously he's a defense coordinator. So he's obviously watched offices but he knows that's not his lane and I think he wants to do is be the head coach you know he wants to give it to a guy. Who he can trust called a right pleased that we can trust to manage that entire office. And I think that's his plan in this holding. Now would disagree with that and you know I think when you come from a defensive background. The trust level in the guy that you appoint offensive coordinators all the more important because you really argument that guy the keys to the car. And that's not to say that social terrorist act in a sit nonsense of meeting rooms during the week we're seeing in the game planning sessions on Tuesday. But. On the whole. He's trust America to execute the offense produce. And make. The players on the field better. As you move through the course of the season I mean that's gonna have to be you know offensive scheme that gets better with each passing week I'm sure they'll be peaks and valleys through the course of the season there always are. But in the grand scheme of it I think. He needs to have a guy that he feels he can trust implicitly. To maximize the talent on that says the ball on this. Call for a mile run and lack wanna hello run welcomed here in the year. I desert and every good man I am personally honestly I'm the sort of ability that we diplomatic approach. What the youngsters we drip of marriage you know all of the other doesn't still. I think wonders would jury funerals West Coast. I think when global news that news and world. Well particularly maybe importance. Well am I really sort of director said it well. Absolutely I didn't know that you can actually. Goes through it will work with Kim and ultimately achieve four years. And attempting to use I'm wondering. We already would you let them appear in the long run this into offense and a but it went over rebel army offense and there. You know there's. Considering what we've got to do it again. Interesting and I think brown brings up and actually point Chris and Donald that the you know as we said that they haven't made a quarterback this is in yet you would think the selection of an offensive coordinator will. Facilitate that decision and and maybe there are certain coordinators and there certainly arm certain corners who would feel better about tyra than others write a certain style that you would want to play yup that's me. Goes back to work on is that it depends on this year's scheme you know what is that they want to run so if they feel like they wanna run away school's office. You know they might not feel as good because you need to do to meet all the the rules on the feud need to see things on time the runway schools often and often if you. One run an office like Arizona. And play action the little ball down the field a little more screens and wide receivers and as you might like. Tyrod you know he can run that type of thing and I think it really just comes down to the scheme that that often when Sean McDermott given any clues Chris on what type of offense he prefers it the as I haven't seen it. I've heard it from them now so I would say no no this. One night and that's a yet you know that's why you take this methodical approach because you wanna open your mind to just about anything. That is out there and you know if you are gonna wait. To see how this team could potentially fitted the quarterback you currently have on the roster. You know you wanna hear from those people you don't just want to look at what they've done on tape you need to talk to those people to. And get a sense from them as to what they feel it's best position his call from Shawna what is so go the direction on your on air. Question about. Puppet of coordinator why he has been mentioned what's going out with Chip Kelly has there been any. Rumors are updates of and looking for. The capturing the availability of what what do you guys think about him possibly becoming. An option for our offensive coordinator. He. Chip. I don't know. And it's not like public I don't know that chip Kelly's style offense works in the animal that's been mistreated. You guys because I mean work yet they did last year. It in the last year were. You. For the in the league when. And he ended well. Oh. Was full armed with well missiles and you're that close of trade and Bradford came. So it hasn't really look good on them over consistently over years ago. And I just don't know there's a couple of guys on this Ross won't. Occur occur. We think it. The key guy yeah well the Chris some of the other hires and the profits of 71 of all. That some people match in this I don't ever prop this is Sean McDermott step not the office of coordinators have a problem with him. Filling vacancies on the offenses while before it's coordinator view of yours. Adam profits to it's it's yet some people sit up higher. Aligned coach when the court because the the the O line coached wide receivers backs whoever you end up hiring before you deals the it's been adopted now learn. This scheme and handles the ones than you know what is your job as a coach your job as a player. The winner in the scheme that that off with the corn the corn and once that girls there sergeants a players are already here. They don't know what's been there that there you have to learn it coach's name. The three hires on profits OneCare steel Kelly skipper from running backs route or the tight ends. But he stick out there Chris anybody Mcguirk steal it I do remember retreat gap is. Minority coaching whitbeck in. It was a panel to go spells coaches unless there was like in name I recognized the former player for example I think he was one of the first. In the first years that the Bill Walsh minority coaching fails which is why that but he but he got my attention he is in a program pretty good. And forward thinking program and it looked it works has been in the league for years years. I think going back the question is asked to position coaches. Develop. Yep tee to please its via the learn the playbook when your job as a position coach is to develop the guys in that position. You know so you can hire running backs coach because his job is to develop. The players not to run in the scheme knows his stuff to learn the scheme he's that in. To the defense of coach Lisa Leslie Frazier thing pretty widely applauded Cruces is really. Yeah I mean he's a guy whose philosophy is rooted in. Preventing first downs if you look at some his schemes. Over the years maybe most notably in Minnesota. He's a guy that defends the states. Maybe more than anything else well the steaks and deep yet so you know he might. And then the conventional approach to that is well let's just nickel and dime you underneath all the way but I think he believes that the air pressure schemes. Will be effective enough to get the necessary pressure for the negative plating need to get off the field. Over the course of maybe ten to twelve play drive to your plane and Leslie Frazier defense you might play 67 he plays a game. But I think they play it that way nothing cheap enough and deep and let's try to prevent the first down at all costs. And and work to create long down and distance situations or pressure can get home they the most encouraging thing. At least in terms of what we've seen from McDermott's history as a defensive play caller and coach Frazier is. The the defensive front is getting it back to more of an up the field type of approach. Marcel arias was clearly not happy last year standing in the air and grind and plane to GAAP. And haven't linebackers behind him. Make place that he wants to get up the field and make plays himself he feels he can be an impact player Kyle Williams same thing Jerry Hughes sane thing. And now Shaq loss and for all intents and purposes going to be defensive end to same type of thing a guy that wants to get up the field. This scheme will allow those guys to do that. In much the same way that Jim Schwartz's team did in 2014. Rush for let these guys who are talented and know how to penetrate especially on the interior get up the field create problems and help the guys on the bank now. You think these look in the do you look into. There's philosophical approach to you know just handling the players we know that when you hear people talk about Leslie Frazier. They compare him to Tony Dungy Mike Tomlin type coach. Does that have any bearing in the decisions are am and help these guys up in the instances. Well yeah I mean I think when you or when the head of your defense. Is the calm cool collected guy cool under fire. I I think that resonates with the players especially on game day when. Maybe things aren't going right you've got to come up with a adjustment you know your defense of play caller. It's not getting bent out of shape he's already formulating solutions. And I think that some of the reason why. You see an assistant coach like a Mike waffle on this staff because there's your counterbalance them because there is gonna come a point in time. Dog days of the season week ten week eleven. Practices in operating with the crispness that it needs to plays or not being run as close to gain speed is possible. And that's when. You know your bad cops are cracking the whip saying let's kick out there won't be Fraser's job to do that'll be waffles job to get guys in line. You know some of the other defense Bob Davidge there to the other defensive coaches to say hey let's pick up the pace let's get this done right so we look good on Sunday. So I Kenneth C Frazier is the overseer and then. He's got his foot soldiers was his system. While Apple's envious liberty and them all because hard knocks right right we just had a coach who was our next liberty and I. At least isn't about it let's go get a snack cart Chris thanks very much extra jump in its Chris Brown bills insider Buffalo Bills that I'm seeking catches were anything on the website. He broke it up pat centric games told me today he's. Are there a little backdrop worker through we did get. You know maternity unit quarterback middle ground and I hope we lose their operating. Also a difficult but if they're not they're Micah Hyde took a couple that got Florida. Okay I'm all about right she's here I loved my some play in his rookie year in a pre season game against buffalo it was pretty clear that. Ryan she's here was a special talent and I think based on what they did in Kansas City. It's pretty obvious that the up Pittsburgh defense is really good at least have played really well right now drew green it. Yeah you know bigger question about featured some other view as the parlor Europe today a statement read about from my night there just right there either early lead early ball up the he denied dark and that points against. You know the ET and that's struggled kind of cute it will blow up the we're all Mahler like Taylor guys like that retired but with the start to play a lot better than than that I can't wait to Iran right now I think the pity he turnovers Bernie wants back. You know he was passed more a few hundred yards against them that are so other would put it all together that it parents say no matter little mention all the young guys. But some experts are picked it out over the years in the got a delicate and there are some. A hoot about them starting lineup now where out of my. Nate you know I don't. Don't have the pleasure having an article relentless you know issues I think at the blame them producers no one at bats. No but I want to ask you about but Dupree who seems like he's really coming into his home. Later in the season I'm Peter was injured early in the season so now seems like he's really coming on right now what do you think about him. The Bible bit it yesterday you know received early loose you know he he went a little wider lead at last you're good if you count slider and he kind of you know Obie can't have a dipping gold insert insert will comparable. In their mixes it up with the cart owners and a gap with that kind of stuff what Rick Alec work. On the outside that to write yet yet sports Kurdish putrid you have a pet in the first that was beat him but we've seen in kind of make an impact. The last couple weeks put pressure announcement last week. But I thought brought operating you know as for respect in our Brady well last year it looked in the odds to beat that out but the. And it what are we to make of it James Harrison's. Career Renaissance here you know I mean he was cast off by the Steelers or at least let go by the Steelers just a couple of years ago and hearing is now to answer actually CEO post season teams in sacks in plain and an extremely high level. What are we to make it this is this a system that some consumers Israeli. James Harrison still going strong and his advanced stage. Not because a couple of the book you know it again I think the you know my overall depth or this group all kind of come together like at that you know. James their sentiment and we'll we've care kind of the appeal over from Maria. You know look look to royalty income couple years ago but. Our identity as a kind of matching all matching and you Weller in get the thing with game to lose you know you could look as torture. These are used to originally. But I think that also kind of preserved. Got more debt the tank now. Read you know you're if you don't start the game overall but he planned Islamic got old all the all the guys who would fight them the the other. Parliament to turn their bodies and and but he fell back our bank and I obviously no real meant whatever or purposely. Now I wanted to ask you does do you think that. You know he's not really guy that needs to play with a simple and children he doesn't need any extra motivation for any game or any practice. We've been worked out at Fordham warned that the team lands back from the game. But do you think he's playing with a chip on the shoulder. Being that he was involved in that study where they were talking about him using steroids possibly being suspended earlier in the season. Yeah I am epic Uga Uga packet that being dropped well offered you know are obviously huge name James bigger lead than this. By himself in nobody's ever been you know they kind of vocal performance epic violation. During his her long career you got that thing elsewhere are operating are true they go to official. You know those side of the ledger. You know we know we'll look for game yet in the fifties and Uga Clay Matthews. And agree prevail and it did kind of represent they're so. You know pretty accurate the prospect for the league to try to make it to the big show. You know other than their regardless there drew up. On the line with Nate Davis he is NFL writer editor for USA today come in a couple weeks ago and eight we have the big. Blow up about the giants receivers you know before their playoff game go to Miami this week it appears the the story of choices the is the locker room video posted by Antonio Brown is there anything. Damaging really about this that did. Impact Sunday's game is this much ado about nothing I think even Roethlisberger said it didn't amount to much right. If Adam had to dictate the or earlier in the week Mike from Dayton peace. A Tuesday you know bent it'd be separated Tuesday Wednesday ordered with Antonio Brown. It's Fabian yesterday. If nothing bad call against there was salt water under the bridge. And you know in the locker about the practice and Antonio Pittman are doing stuff no matter what walk into a walk all about Wallace states. A joke or was he made so certainly have not detected about the tension but in your locker room was very trite. But he about an hour later talked to us up upstairs and as Erica after all that. Yeah. He definitely was in their commencement at right before he went. Through the crowd. Against an irresistible. Bit. I get appointed finish San Antonio Brown. Are you just very contracts so I think that the get a generally you'll but it's a war reform for a moment guys greeted opener looked go to partner. Of your said the league was just really excited that moment because November last year. That got cut by the illegal it's not a perfect and get back but he was happy to be like game but I haven't even got rejected it. But I'm glad to hear that because it I told Donald couple weeks ago I think the Steelers might have what it takes to work. To beat the patriots on Sunday even though they didn't get it into the end zone this past Sunday in Kansas City but. If you could forecast what would what would a Steelers path to victory looked like this Sunday in Foxboro may want to think. Well you know it's interesting our secure that the committee even if the watchers can't patriot it is this one that are pretty healthy you know there are open to different builders greenback. A cup super ball and he would be a big addition opposite they get them. You don't thought you know that what it is no or you know it's trying to pick away but your best player beat them another way it was me it would double cover late Jumbo. And Antonio Brown so attribute the fourth element the patriot I'll have to bring themselves to gather wanna take outburst. It will be employing what I don't know brought the playing great well I think they're written really two compatriots to current human garbage truck for people ordered. Your paycheck out or no but the book will build the record our way to division one double as it. Us. Comments are I'm gonna take different. Who lost the battle on the order out. But he. Now I agreed out about one double b.'s overseas. And I was the one that leads me and it could be looking at a slightly. Up at the one of. Live size to be in those seats in abusive game and apparently talked to I mean these two offenses are amazing right now we know Matt Ryan is is playing out of his mind air rises plane. In his mind we know he musically like this what do we expect him out of that game this is I'm I'm expecting to shoot out you know fifty plus points. Active Dugard appeared I mean though the vote on the scene he played gravity of the Alaska has the ball wins and now that with its problem. Last week against the cowboys and Packers what a ball and you know it happened that's got to think you know. That this could definitely be a track meet every game as it goes right right down to the final pick some clock but it should should be on a lot rude or walk like that too. It two or vector walked in and as much talked about Aaron Rodgers and we're on the table in the winning streak they're on your Matt Ryan I think we topic probably one million BP is playing just as well or wherever. During their five game win streak perfect pass through Europe 130 recently and about the pits are well we'll see that compress the you gorilla fund bought it. Gotta confess to the four quarterbacks and in the final for the Sunday. Met Wright is the one I know least about the one that I've been least exposed to probably does work up here you know and AFC city but. What what makes Matt Ryan well first of all where is he bad in this level play this year in what makes him so special the way he's played this year. Coping with them I think I think you know this is your two for him our culture and office Arctic last kind of a transition year. For them deeply you know with a down year for 12050. But obviously it aptitude this year but last year we tried to force people all. A little bit too much to Julio Jones product out of trouble. You know that here I think he took more and more comfortable able it Arab gulf war that point guard mentality. There's mines here and really you have a weapon. But distribute the ball that are this year without stomp out of the thirteen to repudiate. And ruin your mergers duke Kevin Coleman running game. It took over the right back for him that the Garrard more regard for cats and go back there Brandon Marshall market seers. They've really got you know a lot of you know the guys that you'll be in my. I don't think the country that aren't the country's gonna watch the knob but catalog you know it's. It's not really team that you that you watch you know them on Sundays and I mean mr. in Atlanta is not league team that you spent some. When you look on the other side of the ball and you look at Jordy Nelson possibly or probably not gonna play in this game. Is that gonna hurt the falcons going up against an offense and Atlanta that can score a lot of points. You know apparently by Jordy Nelson is you know when when they are that can't get. Hurt. The Packers were struggle a bigger run or ten for 32 yard back into the since he got hurt. Is that they they scored 72 point Aaron Rodgers Patrick whatever forties or early touchdown but he can't say that the better you know without Torre also. But the TSA has is that it really missed them they have been able looked out out out objectives Yugoslav points to its opt out of this bank got. A little strong moral certainty can have irreparably hurt toward neutral player but do you look it doesn't I'm not the key. We can make certain future Packers not quite what to do it out is that the the grew up. Lessening eight what do you got one in these games to be made predictions. In the paper anywhere else yet. Yeah you know my in my. Might have predictions for the playoffs started were worked out from the patriots are bigger given us a couple Mike he played air that you want with. You show it yet innate factors that a few minutes with us today we appreciate. Are you Nate Davis is the NFL writer editor for USA today sports you can catch them on USA today in his. Recent piece ranking the NFL's hottest players headed in the championship Sunday. It's pretty good read to any hints is this it is one of the defense of players. Among its top six anyway. A lot of the focus on offense which shouldn't surprise anybody against him yeah. Think that room on different topic you'd think that day cooling is coach of the year as. Oil and really about it now view. I think it would be and more I would say so yeah I mean to bring their team where it was last year to where they are now I would I would say the we give back and we can get back in the post or on the we can do that an agreement that got a top. Protects an a for joining us on the subway fresh take outlines subway eat fresh let's take a couple of phone calls Irina Orchard Park oh Irene welcome to the show. I met her eye on I'm wondering if you either you or gas and had any. Hot and and somebody get their nanny even thinking about it they do or cabinet like at C interviewed. As the offensive coordinator. My I'd is. Alex and pout I know we can't be tractor right now but. I would like to see him maybe it's considered. I would too they can't talk to Roma. After the jester game on Sunday as a matter of fact and Alex has got the credentials to do it obviously the resonated duties it's been the one year thrown into the offensive coordinator role here in buffalo I think did the best he could and under pretty difficult circumstances yes I would I would hope they would have been considering how emotional hugs at that for us but if Alex's is a piece of work he loves buffalo I know elect an actually. Traded text back and forth with in my early in the week about. The championship game and I think you certainly being guys that I would consider why why would you think hiring so there. And why Alex for your wife and help. My iMac hasn't actually been patent tickets for over 53 years and lead just that we get thinking would be a good fit for the position. I mean these he's he looks like he would. Fit with the new coach and and he noticed stopped and I did look like this seem Becky and buck well. You know for me. I don't really. Know who I'd like to see I'd like to see a guy who comes in here. Key stat running game intact but improves the passing game I mean that's what everybody wants to see but. I would like for them to keep the running game intact and has a lot to do with. The quarterback amassing got to be number one in the league in rushing. But that you want that team what was so McCoy and might give this lead to still be. The years in the league in rushing but you need to improve the passing game so I need I think you needed a good play call or someone whose creative. As someone who can you know hope to develop these quarterbacks that we will have on roster. And Alex Jimmy you've played quarterback that's his area of expertise he coached quarterbacks here in buffalo and is he moved through the league in Tampa I believe in. But any known now the quarterback coach Erin Rogers quarterback coach in Green Bay is you don't hear it while I mean what do you say to knew anything. Well you did agree. If he boys that are and you get a great player somewhat yet the coach. About the argument that maybe Alex it's. Made Aaron Rodgers better than in particular where you know I'm just saying I I would necessarily say. You know I don't think Alex is Melanie and increased. My hosting environment and those souls and why does Belichick get credit and for what the patriotism and remembrances. Tony. I don't request. 8030550. The number toll free 1888550. To 550 will take the call here from Bob in west Seneca welcome Bob your in the year. They threatened to element. Join it was and you show. Basically three questions. One. Whatever happened was kept once met these you know coach that Brooks broadened. And wish he'd be considered for any position within the organization. And also. The training. Training met its in the way players are trained. Go through the training process. Is there a possibility is that whatever methods you are using. Is contributing factor to be injuries that are occurring that seem to be similar nature to multiple players. And nor does the turf. Player role than it is this the recently replaced. I will look things up and listen to hear answer there. OK and there's only two or maybe the turf made it three Bob thanks Boris protein stepped oh. I think they're all still under contract and they've not been officially released. I've and you know I I'm not have I don't really know who's. Potentially in contention stay on with the next staff that includes Catherine Smith so I don't know where your future lies I I know the I believe that coach McDermott has the option to retain it if he wants sort of hired new people so launchers that many of them again nothing's been officially announced on this. Many of them maybe some of that money being re going to stay up it would have to go through an interview process with the new head coach. Yeah can you share in the light on this. I believe the same thing as yet I do think it. There's still under contract and I would think that they're gonna interview all of them in and decided they want to all of them will vote there it is some of them gathered people were still here. And just see if they wanna bring them back or not I'm not sure you know what's going there. Training staff come. Yeah why would you evaluate training staff in the methods and again fresh set abides feminine and the coaching separate head coach absolutely. I would think you know this goes back to actually our original premise at the start of the show about. You know the foundation in and building upon a foundation I would think if I were that. Incoming head coach of the bills that would wanna say you know who who is the training staff whose district in conditioning staff. What do we do with injuries not in an accusatory way but it. Make sure that it matches what you wanna do and certainly that's within your right that falls under the purview of I head coach I believe. You know what do we do offered training what do we do for strength and conditioning in nutrition and and what do we do for the injured players in the trainers room I've certainly hopes I certainly would imagine that he has so it is Eisen and and and the Ecstasy if he's good with what goes. And everything we talk about. Bringing in a new coach in new head coach all of that stuff falls underneath his umbrella you know all falls underneath his philosophy he's been in other places in the scene how you know we we we made it to the Super Bowl and this is how. They lift weights here. You know we've we've been two different playoff games in this is how they would wait years so I like it to be done this way and if there's doesn't it tick deterrence that here orchestra and conditioning coach is here. Don't fit his philosophy but yeah I would think you know they would make a change but I'm sure that's something that he's of Nigerian right now a long way off with the coordinator along with all the players on the team caught. So. In California I'm Rick Karr had. Made guided. Bartlett also multiple. That there I really like the and he buried all the for a oil nickel or your belt Ryan has. Although all are at the gate everybody Tokyo but yet they thought. And how the heck are you would be better than I did so editor 40 number or whole world at night. As a particular out well. That I'm very happy about it but what about the Tyrod Taylor. I don't know what everybody's. Back to speak about it is expecting your quarterback. And he's done everything you know operable the weapon. The Packers 25 point game. No doubt be get its. I think I applauded the F or buffalo generally don't wanna her streak and it can go to one of your streak. If you put it that we're gentility that's what are your that they market. Is though that we that it. Last. We're losing anyway a couple of things come close to the mountains. I don't know if I agree with Rick and everybody temperament tyrant that that's not the senate and I get from the calls taken. And the people we talked to I don't know that it I don't think everybody mr. Chapman is back I think opinions are pretty evenly divided on whether tyra is a guy you know. I look at it like I don't notes aren't so it is a franchise quote I don't knock you've seen this I don't know if he's a franchise quarterback for the team not. But if you're building something from the foundation. Up. Are you bring in another guy that's the freeagent. You're probably gonna bring in a quarterback he's gonna you you want to draft your quarterback. Who you feel like him be the franchise guy or you have that doubt our rating on the roster and the Tyrod Taylor or cargo to own so. If it's not gonna be Tyrod Taylor as your franchise guy and at least give him. Some money that's my thought process on it. I don't know what's yours is you know as the I would. I'm open to that. I need to have a better alternative recorder America and tyra before right upper back and as you pointed out back when brownies with us our morning. The moneys even factored means it's. You who's the best option. For the kind of long term. Range view that we we talked about at the top of the show tyra that guy does that coach feel that way that's important is the new offensive coordinator whoever does feel that way it's critically important as well. I don't believe that decision has been me management and have been me so. As out of this season has remained until March right hole and a moment anything is not going to be the guy in necessity its in its cargo move forward and and as cargo latins has learned. Under the under fire you know you have to learn to acquire I mean that's just how apt to be if it's if parents I was not going to be on the roster. And help to groom a cargo zones how to groom somebody else. That person's gonna get thrown in and it. It came to it can be great like that taxis and for it to be our policies that quarterback as they were bombed them. Rick in southern California's first point about Rex in the field into the defense absolutely right and people who wonder why isn't Rex Ryan here if you do wonder that then Rick you hit it on the nail hit the nail on the and it should say is the defense. You know that's what happened the defense under performed two straight years. And that's why I'm here we want you re engage by it and that was formed to underperform and they just had too many different issues throughout the course of the season when guys not being on the food that I mean that stuff right here we sit next to. To Doug and ownership and you know it's it's tough the watts you know it's tough for them to watch it as well like why can't we get this stuff street. Did second to last game in the season you know this this plea we have ten people in the field that knocks this out of playoffs so you know that's what that's what happens. They are Twitter poll is still alive for the next that point five minutes or so when you're welcome to join us on that and join us on the phones as well. We're talking about this bill's franchise where they stand what lies ahead we're do you view the franchise. We talked with Chris Brown about this based on his interview with Doug Whaley yesterday. The way they talked about kind of changing. The set up a little bit and the foundation and we want and what you think. Is the strongest part of the bill's foundation not necessarily be apparent things down a bill that enough but. What are you build from what you build upon. In what the bones of the bills football organization that might be that's easiest way to put a portable. What is the strongest part of the bill's foundation is pretty close vote 770 votes in so far. 34%. Say the offensive line. 31%. Say the defense of line 42% say the skill positions wide receiver running back 13% saying something else what's the strongest part. But the bill's foundation what do you believe. It was a college don't think it'll 30550. All free from outside buffalo 1888550. To 550. Targets are active trying to which are the showdown that was set. Wavy via bills a general manager and interview conducted over the weekend with their burial Chris Brown bills and sent from Buffalo Bills back now. Bright topics I encourage anyone listening to go back to a Buffalo Bills back them watch if you missed it already. Among the many things they talked about was that the plan for the future that's what we're talking about the foundation and what is the strongest part of the bill's foundation moving forward you weigh in and then on the telephone with. On the one thing Whaley said was the long term sustainability. Of success sustainability currency that's what they're trying to build yours let's what Doug Whitley said when Chris Brown. Asked him about the you know the patients and when you begin to see results in the futures were Doug Whaley and his. To the fans assay. We recognize the seventeen years absolutely. What were asking you to recognize we're trying to build something for the long term sustainability. Of success. And I can't give your time frame as you won your two but I will say. Every game like coach says you'll see a competitive team out there. In position that won't beat themselves and be in position to try to win and you'll see the growth in the team. It may not reflect in the wins and losses put as you go I test. Agree that the way were filling it with coach McDermott I test will show that word came green tech trash into our ultimate goal. Doug Whaley with Chris Brown over the weekend a couple of things from that Donald and I wanna hear from some our listeners on this was. The the focus is on long term which does not in my mind and Chris said it necessarily mean that the short term is is. Thrown aside you know it's not as if they're saying we're gonna Karen Parton. Built from the ground up I believe and we both of talk to Doug Whaley about this I believe that they think they have a framework in place that they need to build and now they need pieces clearly they need a lot of pieces. But I think if you listen to Whaley comments that he thinks. Maybe the main piece was irony Sean McDermott. And the focus on creating kind of a core values and instilling core values throughout the entire organization football department and otherwise but I don't think he's talking about a tear down. Her regal view I don't think he's just talking about building upon what they feel they have already you know just adding pieces and so. Ultimately it's a long term vision it's not a short term fix and so they want to. Make sure that they take their time and did all of the right people that they wanna do it in here. They're not trying to. Just go out there and and did a Tony Romo and Tony Romo can take is that Clausen one year and then the next year he's not here. And this team progresses and ankles back to. You know whatever it's been seven to nine wins and you don't make the playoffs again next year they want to build something that is that as a court. Like a core group of guys in the same coaching staff the same philosophy everybody has the same vision something that they can. Make it into the playoffs every single year. And the focus is not making it into the playoffs the focus is getting to the Super Bowl and winning the Super Bowl so that's the mentality. That he's trying to instill not to sub par on the players but upon this entire organization and upon this entire fan base you have to be patient this thing takes time. It's not a one man picks they have the deal the roster will talk with you that about that on the phones at 8030550. Or. Troll free at 1888550. To 550 or on Twitter and it's part of our Twitter poll what is the strongest part. Of the Buffalo Bills foundation 775. Votes in right now and it's pretty evenly split 34% of you say. The offensive line is the strongest part of the bill's foundation 30% say. The defense of line. 22% say it's skill positions wide receiver running back. 14% the other two got a few minutes left to vote on that are chime in on the telephone here is Percy in buffalo Percy go ahead you're on the air this. But I didn't it actually quit yet they can dominate on the air but that's. All right. Got a big hostility that he would live he got every day. Diploma wanna comment on what I think is on Atlanta bill you hit the net. Most clearly got to beat the defense that lined. You know marked a period where it back to avoid re most likely button marked a period. And Kyle Williams and then you have your use an old little things seem so well lately he'll have a little political and Alexander. But he's still got Shaq Losman I was I think you have the development bringing my waffling here. I don't think most certainly that is on the that adorned a martini can build upon because. Yeah you see you're acting like a giant had no great deep into the line. Linebackers and secondary were you know there are OK I mean no doubt let. You know I that they had Thanksgiving evening Dan O'Neill. Here's what the middle linebacker when I wanna duplicate it patriots. The court you know start by any name. But just Fargo all you know they'll probability. He. Look at tried to build outlook you know in the future I think that we have the talent you know future ahead of a year room. Doug Whaley can certainly evaluate talent that shirt so you know got to put it in good position have players. That obviously coach in my development right away your Donald don't talk about like you know public important development it. I think boundary you keep that as a focal point here in you know not yet permeated throughout the rent that building here it can succeed. That at the green and you look at that defense line. Anderson's strong pieces on the Lorenzo Alexander and even a dialect at the office. Out ten enemies and plays now moving to a afford three. It's like brownies it. He did it allows guys to get up the field in me please candlelight the dolphins were this year it allows these guys to give up the field to make plays and do what they want to do with the feel comfortable Shaq. Kyle ourselves. It's scary. Come to office even if you can bring back elucidate dunes cold shows signs of this guy can be very group or even though he's a veteran. You know he can be a solid piece on that defense of line a guy who can get up the field and make plays in a 43 type of defense. I think that is a strong part of this team. You know he you you've got to have the right arm Beck has behind you and you still does that add depth to the. From the north so I want to welcome. Yeah I. Earned my point are here. Donald talking about where elite comment then. Followed it and you know building for the long term at the goal is to win the Super Bowl and all they stopped. Talk pork raw. Or all that goal you get to the playoffs. Spent a playoff. In senior. Aaron and I go well hole. How many until they jobs or it should apply in a hundred per cent. I don't care they get the first round next year Angela or they're not they. You know at the top flight ops. Bachmann to stop it that's not a bad idea for all not at all. Which is settle for a playoff berth there are you willing to and maybe take a longer view in the Super Bowl. Championship. And it got to present penalty it would be about it. Bet a lot you know or all of the guys aren't all. Brand in Italy and I want our seventeen year. About why shots. Only built our hair out salary cap. And they have been laid off or seventeen years all of Ortiz and it is a lack or did you not paying. There and here we're gonna feel Super Bowl match Lott should call. Well it's your logic and I don't I I I'm really interested in apple he suggests because. I don't know I don't think maybe I am certain it would beyond a percent but I wonder what. Most people would think it looked in order to win this rule you gotta get to the place else we know that's a a necessary step but I don't know about would you have been happy this year if the bills that does snuck into the playoffs with everything that went out of they'd. You know if the Miami kicker doesn't make a 55 yard field goal and if one of the game goes another way in the bills picked up two extra wins and and maybe get in the playoffs that way you would have been OK when that you would think that's. Brian. I would in Bangkok. OK with that they are all well. All are well I guess we were saying it is you gave the standard in the open. Shot at Victor. Mediocrity. For being here. Well we're out there are I thought that they admit it to your report by that joke go wrong that. Now I'm gonna tell you you're wrong and I've been patient with you but we're we're saying whatever we want by the way. But they have been mediocre for the last three years anyway 97887. And nine before that they were worst in mediocre. Com so you're wrong about that and they are not the jokingly I'll and a this a buyout. Are you satisfied at this team makes it to the playoffs they get blown out and then you go on another drought. For another 1015 years because you brought in a bunch of guys that were here for one year didn't we be talking about a drought again. So what are we talking about. What what I thought about it making the play I thought they think Don it's not. Impossible. For Oliver and reproduction. For a year I don't care about the senior after the war. The whole goal but court and the war or else that lap at an entire and. Not well. You're entitled your opinion but certainly we thank you for calling your viewpoint is in direct opposition to what Doug Whaley has said in. And what they're trying to do here and there is not to just make it the one year and then be awful for fifteen years that is completely. And you're entitled to your opinion and I here yet and I am and I love the passion by the way about. But that is directly opposite of what they're trying to do here what Whaley try to do them what McDermott serenity. They are looking at a long view they are not interest him in a short term fix at a couple of tweaks. And it believe me it would have only taken a couple of different plays this year to get into the post season and last year also as a matter of fact. Maybe a pass interference call in against Jacksonville a year ago on the bills are. In the playoffs and I don't know that if anyone would view that is the kind of a program that you want to build here I think what Whaley talking about is designing and building. A program for long term. Sustained success forever that means in the NFL it's difficult to do but I think they seem to be committed to it the doing that long term and not just settling for. One year in then fifteen years of misery but. Again in and you look at. The teams that that make it in the playoffs it a unique you know it's still a mediocre team like you just got in because you division was. Sorry. It's so it doesn't mean that you're a good team you just squeaked in because everybody else is just has that issue. So you can't be satisfied with day you have to want to get in the playoffs every single year. And want to keep beyond just make it into the playoffs and beat that team that on that's winning the division for debt making it to the playoffs let's win the division. Then you know you're gonna make it to the plasmas not to squeak in and while Clark we want to win the division every single year so we know we have a home field game in the playoffs you know that's what. That's what the goal isn't to get there it's not a short term thing like I don't understand why. You're satisfied with making it to the playoffs for one year and then it doesn't matter what happens the next fifteen years after that would we talk about another drought. Ethnic communities and I wouldn't last certainly I wouldn't stick around that long to wait for another fifteen years com. Incidents in question and I do like his idea. Things that aren't yet. There's the weird desperate for content but find out from fans you know would you be satisfied with just making the playoffs awarding wanna go with this maybe that's a a good topic for the next couple weeks and we should point out there is a little bit at a Phillies today were collateral time but. It deals with the oh Oakland Raiders they have a file the paperwork for the move to Las Vegas and that it's it's a sad day in my mind Donald because we've we know we talked a lot about the chargers the other day in and their move to Los Angeles that came up just a week ago and now with in the space of a a week really write it just about a week here they wrote the raiders. The league issued a statement and inability to statement earlier this afternoon. Today the Oakland Raiders submitted an application to relocate their franchise to Las Vegas. As provided for under NFL policy. The application will be reviewed in the coming weeks by league staff in the stadium and finance committees the relocation of a franchise requires the affirmative vote of three quarters of NFL clubs and he 24 votes. And it was Andrew Brandt out our show yesterday and said. It appears they're gonna get the point four votes in March when. The league owners meeting. You know it it's it's really looking that way he has looked in their way down everything all indications are this team is probably gonna. Be in Vegas I am I believe tirade where he said Vivian Oakland for what the next two years while they build that stadium up there Vegas but. This team is going to move it's looking like this team is gonna move to Vegas and so. You know it's it's I don't know I only know what to what to think of three teams moving in the course. Is there any is definitely gets it and that is that stadium and open is. This is not the right solution it's on long term short term this is Leah. A short term fix that moves into it obviously expanding big market in Las Vegas. I don't the gambling aspect doesn't bother me at all. I'm sure they'll be successful Las Vegas and it goes successful virtually every word goes with Tom. It's just not good to leave long term I mean look we've had two. Charter members of the American Football League in 1960. Switched cities in the last week. You know I mean that's nuts it's crazy it's not the way it's supposed to be tonight bothers me. A lot. Back then yeah caller you know. And just to bring out one more TJ battery the Dallas cowboys' depth now with cowboys. Everybody says they've been walk in mediocrity for years they've been making its about the movement first so what do people still talking about they Cain went well so. It's the topic today I'm reading some of the tweets and people are article and Wayne and. Both sides of that argument that the color brought up so yeah.
