He's he's not John Murphy show. I robot that John Murphy show here at one bills drive and our lovely one buffalo studios I GO once again filling in for her this week. Who is down in Houston Super Bowl 51 here with Donald Jones as well and Donald I we're hanging out last night got to sort of was received at college basketball game I was calling the game. You know due to play by play Europe in the stands with the good friend Neiman Roosevelt you know at some. It's interesting game go to watch rover it to Obama Irina over you be good game to watch still anybody went to it you got to see 192 point scored a college basketball. That's pretty loud us that's wild. And always talked to name and about the university of buffalo. Football and basketball sports in general Amare as likable man he would you be if they do the Youngstown State I write it right all right. But lately does go back for the man it was fun it was a good game yesterday the last time I got to see you be played. Was in that tournament with a four Wesson your teens yet. And it power you debate for and they lost the kinesis this is like a totally different team and I expected them to yesterday going into the game I was like now. Knowing message of Michigan had the number one leading scorer in the country I thought they'd end up beating UBS. I don't know but. They shut down I should say technically he's owners averaged point five they want a winning game but the cool thing about that kid. He went to Youngstown State he started off his career there as ray so you can always say that name and to let see we get these. At these guys I said as a dad doing too well you must have been to do. I think any coaching changes why he he one of Lehman it was fun last night was good to see you out there are not good to see neighmond do that you'd now I know one he's played in the CFO does he. Stick around here during the offseason live here in solving mom does laundry and stuff. Yes that's bad though he lives OK Elizabeth government of they've been together for a long time. He he's here during the offseason he doesn't go back appearance of the sprinkler. Then it was one of those guys that's like a merit leader in buffalo now that he's in Canada though he's like I like Canada and I'm like a little bit and so he's talking about time it's on the stay up there may be in the Hamilton area. Where is still close to Barlow what not to you know. Which are in Canada even if needed that he'd be back. Yeah because at that that's what happens guys here all the time guys come back all the time it to the people always come back to buffalo I came back the name is talking junkies and renowned now know that we're happy for his success no doubt about it was a it was fun last night. Where in a fun show today for of course we're gonna head back down to Houston John Murphy standing by. He's gonna Phyllis on and on what's happening during this week leading up to Super Bowl 51 New England Patriots. And the Atlanta Falcons and Merval come along and he's talked to a lot of people over the last day or so as he did. Yesterday we'll hear some of that sound for Merv what it is not possible that you want as these two teams prepare for Ross are gonna talk a little free agency today because. Retired and speaking of college Youngstown State you went through the process. Today is national signing day for college kids and it's a practical stressful thing for kids to cool thing for kids schools and they. You know watch this whole thing evolve it's really evil that we can that we touch and that but. The same way acting. You know Donald free agency is involved a lot of the ways that signing date has which become a huge frenzy that's what it is free agency in the NFL and I tell you the NFL when I was growing up had at different ways of having read it and our full blown free agency guys basically for years UW team. You go on but interesting how it's turned out so. We'll talk about that college free agency and a belfry concedes is a free world I guess. It is the users of freeware. Listening pilots college recruiting. Is crazy now. And that the way that they are recruiting the wavy that but aides that there they are targeting these stated this is just amazing they're targeting these kids in middle school some time of the evening under the net there had been a funky it is being you know the number one. The number 15 grader in the country it's like this it is in the fifth grade like you know him that he'd like this sport once he gets that high school but then when you get the high school. And you go ruled that whole recruiting process it's alive and it's really a lot because you have so many different schools coming in. You know you have to media started to call you because you're one of the top recruits as the deal with so many different things. And it's just like free agency I think one of the problems with. Athlete today. It is how they treat the athletes. When they're going through the college recruiting prize Marino and we devote there college recruiting process they'd bring you in and they showed the world what they really do when you get there. They take you out to eat you can meet certain people. I mean our balls bringing Tom Brady and impaired Jeter actually you can beat these guys just to get you to come to their campus now when we all know when you get here. You Simon at the bottom line is total different ball game what you get on campus I mean it's nothing like when there recruiting you you feel like with the Dodgers sign up you know from. But because they did you so much when your being recruited. Now when your freeagent. You expect the same thing you know and so you expect them to. Fly UN arms even if you're. You know a certain level sometimes why you went on a private jet or something like that and take you out the Eaton to show you the world and they wanted they were. You know players expect a lot of money you know I think it all starts from. All the way back in high school when you be recruited for houses this. He pandered to Noah says notes he had exactly. LeBron James it's all about that when he went to Miami part of the reason was he never got the college recruiting experience he wanted to kind of have that free agency recruiting experienced. I go off and do some of those things so we'll get into that they we'll talk more about. National signing day will piggyback that. On NFL free agency which opens up by the way march 9 technically that's when teams can start to talking players and things like that. We will head right now down to Houston however where John Murphy is standing by the those that lets go I was Super Bowl 51 and you know Mark Kotsay one of the things I've heard recently in for me I think I say oh I hope they never ever do this but who knows they might. Talk about renaming the Lombardi trophy to the ballot check award or some sort of some sort of trophy for him because. He's been there so many times now he's won this thing so many times. I hope that doesn't happen but I know that he is a guy that set could really put his stamp on this award if he wins another one. While at first effort at. Really of them changed the name you have a problem party troop we develop he gathers and there's been there's been a little bit of a movement on that. And well I if I get a vote I'm not favored the ethnic at a at a Bill Belichick but I mean Vince Lombardi Islam party in you know. I'd I think it's a boy I'd be shocked if something like this happened because you know. That there has to be some sense of history right for a professional football and notes. You know it's ever evolving you know the rules change that lead the nature of the game changes but c'mon I mean when the NFL achieved its it. You know got on the rocket right to popularity than it is right now Vince Lombardi was was the major wanted to meet the major guys that that you know. Foster dad with the stewardship for the year Green Bay Packers in the 1960s them that would be at the chain by I'd be shocked if there were anything to that now. You know Bill Belichick is in the middle of out of the middle but he's in his career right now and I anticipate that when his career is over there's going to be plenty of time. To rightly acknowledged what he is done with the and when the patriots over the years. He all favored yes you would think he is offering coach what is. Reputation be tarnished by some of the allegations against a patriots no doubt maybe that comes up when his name goes before the electors for the pro football hall of pain. After he's retired from the game but there's funny typed that I wouldn't. You know youth is Bill Belichick he's just there bill Parcells used to say you know let's not. Make the platform again just yet I mean bill Belichick's going to be in Kent Ohio but I don't know if start memorializing him yet he's healthy right and admit something. Now now now he is in now I hope that I hope they don't change that either I would not last see that but where is she where is he in the annals of pro football star's head coaches and even coaches over over people forget. Of course he had that suitable 2.5 victory. Against the bills as the defensive coordinator we had one. Up shortly before that as well when the giants won a beating the Denver Broncos have to as a coordinator and then how already for that coach he's lost a couple of echoed coach this is his seventh it's his ninth overall he's. He's got to be up there where do you put on UC a lot of these coaches come through the best of the very best bill Walsh's of the world Bill Parcells. Lot of those guys should know Don Shula what they've dealt where do you put Bill Belichick on that list. Yeah he's you know he's other mount Rushmore rate of all time NFL coaches along with the names you mentioned. A Shula especially George Alex I don't think you can forget I mean if you're talking about mount Rushmore what is four people on mount Rushmore so let me name for. Alice. Don Shula. Bill Belichick. And then who Bill Walsh Jose lost I don't I don't know maybe there's 45 yeah when it but you know it's it's an interesting debate you know the think that. I the kind out of Belichick spam but I do it Meyer's body of work in the thing that I think one of the admirable things about it right now is that easier. You know get his team ready to play in its I was talking in my body but Sochi today is the play by play which the patriots and you know they're it's. As crazy as it sounds it is suitable business as usual. With a New England Patriots which he they've been down this path before they know what it's like to get ready for super bull they they've done it over and over organic and to his credit Belichick's not here. You know soak it up accolades wondered about his place in history Belichick is here get the steamer needed to play in and most likely to win. On this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons and I think that really is is gonna go when it's often done of people sort of evaluate his victory here. That's going to be part of it you know the way that they just focused other business senate. A week to week day to day basis Belichick was was asked the question here in this Houston this week. You know Odyssey continue. To get his team to produce at an extremely high level and here's what Bill Belichick did say about that. There are now for a citi's worker especially beats work and you know so. If that usually look to do don't have a lot of great people and greets. Players were car they're very. Cooperative compliant they've been great attitude. About teamwork and plan on selflessly and working on selflessly so. I don't really doesn't feel like work. Try to give their for an opportunity do their jobs. And a lot of people would do very well great coaches you know great group of players a lot of respect for all so. Try to stay out of the way and let them do their job and they'll do pretty well. So ballot check right there are talking about you know preparing for the game. And he's getting ready for another one here got a belittled EG look at the other side did Quinn has actually been in a symbol he did win one with Seattle Seahawks obviously. He was also in one a couple years ago where one of losing that's gonna help them as well but. For a guy like Belichick he knows the pitfalls of this week. Former PO he knows what to watch out for for his team. Boy when you get their just a few times it's got to be a lot easier to know what the routine needs to be whether it's one week or two weeks how you wanna set everything up that's got to be a bit of an advantage as much as he's a great coach that's also going to be an advantage to know how this week is to unfold for your team. Yes I mean your rights Alan you know that's the routine that they've been through here over and over the years and see all these many years and it's them. You know I I think. We talked about it yesterday when. When we talk Brian Cabell about how you know it's it's a group coaching group that's pretty stable. And so they kind of know each other's role and know what they're going to be doing a regular basis we get ready for this game and get ready for the the season. You know week to week basis noting about Belichick that I think bears mentioning that them. You know date they have personnel people clearly in the did some good ones that Veoh in others but. Bomb for the most part Bill Belichick is his own general manager in terms of player acquisition and and finding players and a brilliant players on guys who he thinks will fit the victory the patriot way. One of those players is they're really good contributor now Malcolm Butler at the big play miserable couple years ago. I wasn't a huge Malcolm Butler in a couple of years ago when he played as a rookie but. Over the last couple years I've sort of been converted and and mark Kelso was helped me see a bullet to as far as welcome Butler and what a solid quarter is a good cover guy use this is a guy who was the you know an undrafted free agent out of west Alabama small school a couple of years ago and you know now look at these he's a really good solid corner in this league and when he talked to the media this week here and I used to the Super Bowl. Bill Belichick talked about how he found welcome Butler and what he thought of him when he first saw him play in talent. Not a state enters invest in the draft. Oh when the draft is over there or the number of players that weren't signed that we still had interest in. We invited Malcolm for. Rookie minicamp and we had probably. The ten to fifteen players like that that had finished college career that word. Not sign with a team that we're essentially there for. A trial they stand trial over that many can't hear it. Along with our draft choices and the players that we had signed after the draft we also a couple veteran. Veteran tight players that were with the team owners certain categories that we can have there so. It's once you saw in the off on the field after the first work out. It's pretty pretty obvious that we felt like this is the type of kid he wanna work with them and he was obviously raw technique wise and all that put. Teddy Kennedy wanna work within you know get a good training camp. And you know got a little playing time here in the year but. He kind of really we we song firsthand when we actually solved in our building. In that rookie camp for years ago three years ago. Bill Belichick talking about the process of finding them Malcolm Butler and yup that's part of his job to part of what he's done pretty well. They don't. You know it's funny he. In buffalo you have a tendency to look at the the the patriots move some people do anyway and say well how'd they do that out of the find him you know even Crisco and they get him etc. They do make personnel mistakes that you make their judgments on people's of that character judgment sometimes talent judgments. And the one way they can recover. The best way they've recovers by having the great talented future Altman quarterback Tom Brady have a guy like that who could play like that on a consistent basis. My belief anyway covers up a lot of faults when maybe you miss an intrepid or or misfire on the acquisition of a free agency I think Tom Brady. Covers up a lot of of missteps that they might make it personnel. Amer we're talking about two coaches that have been in this in trouble a lot. So we're talking about the Nobel attacked and you talk about Dan Quinn both of these guys understand. The process and especially when you did you'd Super Bowl week and you don't really change. Your week to week dated date type of operation as far as practice dazzling and all of that's also all of that stuff goes. So what's the schedule for these teams right now today is their practice going on today how's that work. Yet they are practicing today. My producer here chip Matthews tonight spent the early part of the morning over at the Atlanta Falcons year the falcons team hotel which is on the upside down you know Putin's all spread out all over the place and actually. Falcons. Media availability today. Anna was a hockey in animal you know him well. On the west side of Houston so oddly players and hours there we have achieved talk with the trio there and you have a statement. Players and our meeting with the media and in the practice and it's. Idea incidentally the patriots the first crack these. Years now obviously if there were last week. There bases. And they went and you think that the ball in the installation has been done back Altman users Russia but it is practiced for both teams today. Very similar moral on Thursday here at Super Bowl with them. Media availability in mourning for the incident practice exceed the patriots their practice on jumpers and then. They meet the media. 3 o'clock India and so. Yet it's pretty much these two days similar it and writing no media availability. But the players. Fridays to use the the Russia dame practice court appearance in and play in on Sundays. It's apparently good team is that we over and talking them out and talk with a week in Atlanta and Houston rather. But talked with would be tree we talked with a guy. Who's been you know to spending a couple of coffee literally with a builds years ago makes him back. Offseason trade bills. A place in the pre season game at Detroit and memorable game or for gambled and you look at. That. Outside it tasted octave equipped with the general managers in them to meet. Of course. Regarded as one of the best young in me you know anymore personnel waiters and GM's in the business and an interesting short dialog and identifying game when he had coaches and the working relationship between general manager. And head coach obviously it's working right now the mountains between being in vitro but I got into what that relationship looked. You know week and we have been depleted buffalo a week about the 53. Charges if the tree. And it was it seemed eager to meet Europe's Ahmanson. And working relationship between. Coach and GM and those elements ultimately chose well obviously the falcons haven't discovered the secret. You know secret formula but they don't separate right and they're on the pretty good programs but it was. Instructive anyway. It Demetris to meet them and some of that. As well. Amer is there any big injury news or anything like that coming out of your the one of these teams. Off the injury report so the first one of the week we'll come up tomorrow I don't know that there's anything. I'm CEO William Jones had told right on into the NFC championship game you'd think. A week of recovery time will serve him well but bubble look at the danger report and some come up later this afternoon after Libya for studies of this week's practices windup. All right our thanks a lot we'll check back in with you coming up a little while from now on we're gonna have a lot more this week as well we'll hear from some of the players down there and especially guys that so we know here mob like in the teachers who look forward to that thank you very much. Okay thanks art that is John Murphy is Super Bowl 51. Out in Houston and. RG stadium have you ever been to that stadium yeah we played down in Houston he did it what. That's right that's right. Them see juice onto that term thinking that was in 2012 that was 2012 at least the Mario's return. My heels return your arias return and a lot of us I do remember that he as funny that I am I didn't even think I might I don't even remember if I ever thought about Mario's returning to Houston. And I just said it. I forgot about Becky now I do remembered I think was a struggle offensively that day and it was a low scoring game of art number it was a both going game our members Stevie got hurt in. Into coming back in the game. And resist it was knew we were going back and forth but it was Wilson again I do remember. There was a game in Houston the bills played several years ago Lee Evans head to. Like 280 are touched on the one game and bills won the game at the end of the game on AI GP Losman touchdown pass it would like just a few seconds left I believe that was a memory but for me the biggest memory is pat what's that movie before me yet will very biggest memory was actually just a couple years ago go down there. It was a game where JJ watt picked off you BJ ran it back but. For the sideline I mean. Here's the deal with the state education urban them explain it. It is humongous. And it is a huge. Stadiums we talk about. Things we want buffalo where we're gonna get these stadiums someday maybe we will who knows. There have been a lot of people speculated got to get something like that got a huge retractable roof he can have it you know this huge stadium. I want some like that off that thing is unbelievable lead and too big for me I think it's that. Placing wanna answer rubles that's what you want about any place but here's the thing so you get these tickets we're talking earlier about maybe people go to the game ninth tickets the third deck. Is really really high it's like matching another deck on top of what you have anywhere field it's the highest stadium. I've urban upper press box the press boxes Ohio I felt so bad for Merck and we got there that day I'm looking now like how are you gonna call the game the press box was so high. So that I get down there. And we do our checks of the microphone and stuff. This is how high the stadium is where the press boxes and how far away on the opposite sideline with a bills are right to do my job. I connected to a good signal. To the guys' backs I had to do the whole game from the Texans sideline reporting on bills and injuring herself. That's how high how far you are away I just didn't like I wouldn't like something like that here I think it's good for the league to have a stadium like that it works in Houston and I think it would work and awful. I mean. He's more intimate here. You need something more intimate and quite frankly I mean where they talk about doing new stadium downtown there's no room for something that size down that's correct it you know so I don't know where you put something aside you have to. Knocked down a stadium and keep it out this way. Right here for for you to have a stadium of that size or something like Dallas and Jerry world you know did they do new falcon stadium. I flew over that stadium the new one a couple of weeks now next year they'll split and I'll. Man its union rights as you do so it's almost bigger than the Georgia Dome is right now it's amazing you know these stadiums that they're building right now I even heard the the vikings stadium is nice in the Super Bowl is there were an accident. To give it could be next year I don't think it's not quite as big some of these but it's super nice and I amenities right flight path glasses and that's right answer and even Lucas Oil to really nice stadium it's not overly humongous and really get. I like Detroit's Ford Field but this stadium in Houston the thing that always sticks out to me. How high up you are how big stadium is it gets loud but I didn't I didn't like and I'll say this about fans remember going to old sabres games at the old odd. And how. Up the top you were in the oranges in battle at the old audio the looked down at the ice like you're almost overhanging the ice it was very steep and a lot of it's like that in Houston to link your super high near overlooking. How is thought it was too much. I don't like that now I got outs and move anyway and then it's out of others announced loyal and the fact that if from that city first wrote. The football game from a sitting in the suite or from a standing on the silent like the right what you're doing. I probably not going to be in our rather watch a game on TV people asked all the time talk on the ovals that is suitable and I'm like why like why would matches watch it at home right around people that you know I know family and friends and weaken laughed and do everything in plastic commercial I'd rather watch the games. Once he hates when he runs for a slice of pizza right I'm not paying 900 dollars. Where thousand dollars 2000 house was of Baltic I could sit at home and watch his game Ortiz. In the brain generate as much in the break up I how much it paid receivers in the two cup ticket 99. Globally in the future he might be here we get back in my PM for my amateur at town. We'll come back though we want to free agency today because it is national signing day in college. And free agency in the NFL and national signing gamble evolved into some pretty big things I want to get your thoughts on that we've it would pull up at John Murphy show on Twitter what she called me 8030550. 88552. Back fifty. Has the evolution of free agency in the NFL. Made it better or worse for you as far as it being in watching the game in the college talk about here today on the dumber you show. We're back with more of that John Murphy Shia. Really go back out to American is that just a little while south of pot with Donald Jones here on the job Murphy showed thanks for joining us here on. And that's GMTV of course WGR Sports Radio 550. On the radio dial what was signing day like for you did you have all the bells and whistles I mean he didn't totally huge program like in Alabama or LSU but tell what was it like. Are you. Signing coming out of high school. Simon date for me coming out of high school. Because I don't know what to do it goes OK okay so. I didn't have a beat jets recruiting process though what was that like four at the recruiting process ahead. Right wells how's it offers. Them. So I went on different visits and all of this though get five right. If five but you guys and going on official news and make him like him as a team that's. I'm so you know you I do want to different visits. And and it came down to action deepened Oakley and house process because my green eyes. I'm going to lets kids agree lesson for us vote incident in school right now that's. Akamai and they're going to listen to them directly. So you know I go to do it how is now coming at a junior college I had a son and eight. You know whole sign indeed deal and we had my. Like eight guys being in all signing on the same data different schools it was cool for us we all sat at a long table. We all had our school at the woman married you know Gaza Goldman missing is the oklahomans them with the jacksons and I want to Youngstown. So we I mean we had guys going all over the place. But mine's personally was my bittersweet reason being was because I committed to Ole miss them about it. And the code to staff was fired. And new coaches came and Indian news tonight he would want any guys suited housed at that time you know he just one high school recruits. And so I lost that's ousted just because of that and then I had to go to Youngstown State and it was like I you know I'm happy because the winner but as soon be known as he CSI audio of those weasels hole bittersweet day. And I had a couple of my friends that would legacy Norman Oklahoma Michigan State and I might ask a vehicle on the one middle schools and I'm going Youngstown State. Number when they ended up in the though it's. You know battled but you know right now. The way it is Mets on and is really like a spectacle like I know. And I have a cousin right now he's going to be seated next year. He missed it has like 60000 offers is one of the top. Recruits in the country for next year's class and just when I watch what he's going to right now is amazing idea you really is amazing what these kids have to deal with and coming up to sign and I went through. The process I know we're sighing Gary who was in the war recruit last year who committed to Michigan. He meant he went through so much with all of the schools and any had to deal with. The networks that wanted him to sign on their network and it was like it all to see. Did you announce on you want to announce on our and Chrysler where and so he's you know juggling these networks. And I'm like why doesn't even matter might want to deciding who live moment and be done with you know you and had to deal with these networks that that's what these kids to deal with that you know. They'd they'd be played his All Star Games they sign they'll have you know five act in front of them they may do is hoping inspect the glossy video as a key is that. You know they they act out these full videos and it's how they're announcing where they go it's amazing what these kids are doing now it is like you I get this school and saw. You know that's five star athlete right now so everybody has the hype when you just as amazed as to the. I and I agree that I think it happens is because of we know this whole thing a lot of these guys they do get in this situation again later in life because no one to treat their paper so much right. And they never said don't do that that's why they don't learn. You know how so what are the best advice you get these people these kids is surround yourself with people who are gonna tell you know sometimes don't you know who are gonna look up your best interest. But you have a son who's heavily on and I maybe someday he's gonna go through this process out there about twelve years from now he could be could be do this what what kind of things would you as a dad. We'll be looking out for it to try to help along the way. We know for me and I speak to parents now that are going through this. And I told you about mark president so many spas that offers then he wanted to commit to a certain school because it's his favorite school and I'm like that's not the reason why you go to college because it's your favorite team grown up now that we're not making that decision. We're making. A school decision football is second in you disown indicates that make football decisions on love the way the coaches made me feel I love the stadium. I'm of the girls that I saw campus and I want my visits. This shouldn't be about that it's about the school. What is it you wanna study in all of you know the education part of in the football a second what happens news. You have so many kids that come from the inner city so many Tuesday come from nothing and when you have these schools coming in and their pampering you. And sometimes even giving you things giving your parents money doing things like that. Like you say once you'd you'd end up at their school and now you're going to be enough though. You feel like you're entitled to all of this right so for me. My devices more towards the parents they're not institutes for parents to understand that when you're when your child is being recruited. Buy one of these schools the coats is a salesman at that point. It's his job to get the best recruits in there at the end of the day the coats is the one that's making five success million dollars a year it's his job to win this is up to make money for the school and so. Your child. Is a piece of you know that's cool an extra piece that he's going to put in his toolbox and it's it's always put in his toolbox to help him win and help him make more money. So don't allow that post to come in here and just sell you on anything that's not like that gold here and understand. What it is that your child needs if it's extra help if it's hooters whatever it is you've got to understand the full the full scope of what it is it's you're getting yourself into. Don't allow any of these coaches and say what would you view this as far as like we'll give your car we give you. I'm telling because once you do that you've now soldiers soul and if you like you see it all the time these kids get in trouble for accepting things. Don't know that sometimes they don't you know it's because of where you come from a lot of his parents never what the cows and cells they understand the recruiting process they don't understand. Howdy to fill out asked reforms like that's that's what to dealing with us financially by the ways of you know is on a lead. People don't understand. Any of this stuff so when you have a person a coach says common man and promising you the world. You're going to go for it. Its sales you know I mean asked is how it is and so. For me their vices just understand everything talk to different people that have gone through a few if there is going to be somebody you know that's been through recruiting process at some point. Talk to that person don't let these house vote is coming there and so you made the. Your high school coaches they've been around they can write about in the vicinity of holes you know you know they're supposed to do that not all are on the same page that they've they've seen these things happen. With themselves. You know going through this with other kids I should say you know it is and they see in the that they go in the that c'mon. It's the same thing we've waited. It's coming out of college going into the paroles. Now you do with agents ray Anthony's ages come in and for me I had you know 1520 it is common app in the right and so they all like a what do you mean. Will he be right now union card in your phone you need this and I'm like OK you know what. What do I have to do to get it's like what's what's going if you're gonna give me a car. At some point I'm not to pay you back by what we're talking about right now. They ages come in and people on the stand when you go to train at these different facilities down to Florida California all of that stuff. It caustic agent wanted to 30000 dollars that you have to pay back once you get drafted. So you're in the hole already. And you haven't even been drafted yet you know also to understand everything that you dealing with before you decide you wanna sign on agents will come in. And say you know we take representative with the concept. Now you I'll give you 1% minus phone contact and I gave you. 5% of my endorsements don't don't just let these people sell you on anything and that's the advice that these you know until the things that these kids are dealing. No no doubt about it and obviously go from one stage the next stage and then you more people more money it keeps adding up to it no doubt about it they were rated down to plumber who is standing by won it once again in Houston Texas and he is a special guest with him and one that I think bill's fans are gonna be familiar way. Becky said Allan Donald yep where here at the super cool and use it and alongside the great pro football hall of Famer a sixteen years in the league. Secretary Cory used the Buffalo Bills that would date rape with a built for four. The local hospitals alternative pay back Opel. I'll realize that I was an eight time pro ball alternate. I'm out of an attempt alternate but I don't think it is an alternate yes there are I don't now guys the Arctic and solace in that the fact that they were pro ball in you know that comes out auditor pro all right it accompanied James often parents you know by now he is also on the sidelines Sunday for the Super Bowl the asylum reporter on the Westwood One. Radio network it was revealed that you're usually Sunday Night Football and I put all have gotten it yet in those games but alas that eight years it has been a blast. Kevin cook is my partner rework the Waller workers' camp and Arlen. I start it would days them and it it has been a lot but we also ask her up on it Arafat not order a couple times yours might Sunday road game routine. Get the plane. Get from a road game get home to buffalo 730 Yuri pop on the radio and hear you guys announcement and it buffalo. An offer saying that if you get. Get it for thirty minutes that that's about all you can take me on that but what you wanna keep up with the game yet and what I think we try to do it if we are we throw the score out there's so much. They get beat you can't pick or ego what what's the score up and and you get irritated there's somebody that they use the score after a couple but you know this yes and the other thing. Ever want to while I'm in the car that that somebody to a radio game and I hear analysts go look at that. Don't have that he turned down that in the view at all. You've got to Tel oh Q well yet you are two radio guy look yeah say they're gonna flock to the upper a couple of minutes making the rounds here at the radio row. James this matchup you know coming up I've heard a lot different opinions most people believe the patriots should evident in his game what do you think. It it's so hard but you look at the patriots in enormity you don't like that make about historically you don't use you have a matchup that. From an original play very often they go well back in 1989 this happened. The patriots have reached the Super Bowl history this team. Really Tom Brady Bill Belichick six times in the game. What each time it's been a one score game. It's not like the patriots have played in as a bull and they've won 35 to ten and an outlaw they have been in one score games where it's come down to. A last drive in the fourth quarter if you go back to the Seattle game. Got the ball on the one yard line. I'm on the Seattle hotline and I'm going to bimetal tech list of seahawk players that I can interview once they win this game. And a look at Marcel lift that they would much my youngest son Daniel was there for a minute how when he was a senior. Marcel elected one of the few guys or one and I'm wanted to get that he'll talk to NASDAQ Stock Market with. I go over to chairman. Well with a David play with him at Stanford Doug Baldwin I've got a couple offensive linemen that that would make friends during the week. And then all of a sudden. Malcolm Butler stepped in front of a pastor Russell Wilson throws ago. Who buckle a Butler. Limited run yeah Olympic when the games start he was like the fifth corner. And the guy who was it at the nickel roots opened up in Bill Belichick put them and now he's he's the go to guy Anderson in there may. Some people make it Belichick might borrow a page from super bull point five in terms of ball control keeping the Atlanta office atop the field just as he did against the bills back in January 91 I think what they're gonna do. The offensively is there going to be multiple and by that I mean there's going to be some three man pastor. There's going to be some five man answers there's going to be some four man look because what he doesn't want to do he doesn't want. Matt Ryan quarterback in college and and the coach to be able to go look at those Polaroid that they this is what their deal. And this is what we're gonna plan to do the next here. So he's got to mix it up that's when I think I have to get to go to practice today. But I know I won't be come back and they'll that's what I thought right this could you just don't do that right that make you sign that the letter when you leave practice but. I just think that they're gonna turn to a lot of different things defensively and that's rademan looked more practice so that when the game starts I can say. That's what I saw in the game but it's funny when you're doing this and you've been in the business partner. We don't the polls the little things that people tell us until they happen but we we don't going to take. Watch the third play of the game Beckett they got a lead Dekker coming up you can do that might be James you got a busy week and you get sideline in the simple on Saturday due aria pro football hall of rapidly but you're also in elector for a new quietly. But a couple of current hall of famers so yeah like yesterday about the narrowness for the first time and back game. Couple months ago we got a book of nine people and in it was this that 94 guys and so we're spoke to Whittle that down. It's 45 and so they figure out a form within ninety war guideline you select 25. Will be at a rookie. I messed up I think that it won a thick mane of a so that they they called back and I think you've got to take one name off so I take enable. What happens they're the top. We had that would point six while I had the vision to realize that we're gonna go to what he thinks and that's when he five. We go from 46 out of fifteen which is where we are now we have the three contributors worth that's ghetto of its senior Kenny easily. Paul Tagliabue. And also Jerry Jones are connected QBs category. But out that fifteen were then gonna go to ten. And remove the five and with a five that we vote on those five that they can get 80% they don't win and you need a minimum robbery. But I would think after all that hard work. And with realizing that there is not to back the law of great players who aren't in the pro football they've you don't put in three. You don't what it for you to put in the and it teams so it's great to see yeah I would not by. We you yeah umpires aren't out yet I'll. This isn't the end. The beginning to the F quite often all the favored joining us from Super Bowl in used to let it affect you. I thank you very much Merv Donald I gorgeous marveling at James Watkins track accomplishments as well he was a huge tract guy. In college won the 1978. NCAA track and field championship. 26 feet eleven a three quarter inches it was when data but who cares and he long jump. Also a sprinter 200 meter aspirin or twenty point five year and that he looks like. And with corporate there that he can still get after seeing. How the guys doing the Waverly may be with the leafs at right now and Goldman it's Italy and how's that working out doing that. You know we talk about Betsy that's the other thing a lot of these guys BC James right there you watch in the TV sides of his. Moments in buffalo he was he was one of those first real big down on the field deep threats he really helped decade on offense move he opened up a lot of things underneath. For Andre reed who can get downfield himself obviously boundary wasn't the kind of player that Lofton was pinned on the field. He did a lot of things that popped up helped Thurman Thomas the tight ends underneath as well he's he just ran by guys. I mean you've got to have. You have to have that guy who can do it down the field yes you'd and we solve we've seen that firsthand here in buffalo when we didn't have Sammy Watkins on the field this year it I mean we can do anything and how many days a week. Might fit into the boredom filled at all today and what does that include does that we you don't have that that deep threat. That can catch the ball consistently. It makes things hard on the offense you know you have to be able to the right in the team vertically so that you can work everything underneath you know also. We have Sammy Watkins here. He need to have another guy that gave them a field an and and a guy with size the guy that can and a guy that can catch the ball consistently guy that really threatens the team. And then you need to have good solid possession slot type of guys that can work the underneath stuff you know sending rockets to run routes as well. But we all know what he's buried cadet and that's giving them field so if you can if you can put those type of weapons around the quarterback and if the quarterback is going to be tyrants know this offense will be amazing. Who will be an amazing offense you know and in. For me that's what they need to happen need to bring in some more receivers guys at the back and get them feel like James Lofton. Well you can do that I'm telling you this offenses cores. One of the biggest memories I haven't James Lofton I was a season ticket holder for the bills growing. And I just had to look up the game I'm looking up now I go to a go to pro football referenced great for the stuff I look up the actual gamers remember this game. They played the bears at home in 1991 this is the bills' second school year. And James Lofton caught a long pass. Any turned around and he walked. He re backward in the end zone talking trash to the DB. And actually it was up he's like they were call me old and I went back. This old guy did this do you he had four catches 122 yards and. Yeah yeah that's what happens right yeah I think it. I drove an inordinate effort and I I went for my start of newly released in the world animals yet he'd changed everything is part. Well it gives off there was a guy that's a lot of these really lost it views while it was first got to really be that kind of player out there lost. We'll take a time out we'll come back. National citing college free agency the NFL's come up we're gonna talk about a lot of that today let's Rex Ryan sets of adjusting things that were published yesterday about the Buffalo Bills. Party shots of you talk about that next dumber and show. We're back with more of that John Murphy GO. I was just showing Donald video has recruited him as Aubrey solidly go Google it you want you you know two bit whatever oh my god. This is what anybody can think of that that it now we did it he's on the national stage is it agrees national stage he's. Now these cameras in front of these hats you know the way it works. He says I've announced my job my college choice I am going to any literally puts on a Michigan patent says I'm going to University of Miami. The back at at at the it's all we thought hear what he has to be going in Miami that are I don't save our own status grabbed the wrong. Now he actually ornaments on the Michigan in what does that Miami and missed on national TV mystery but that's because of. Everything that goes into it in the pressure these guys aggregate tongue tie I feel bad for the kid but that's part of what we've talked about here the. It is is that's exactly who we're talking about these kids are dealing with so much. Not even realize and his kids are seventeen. Some of eighteen years old. You have so you know so many different schools come of that year I mean Euro on T national TV with cameras of from the guys not the same as you know when you have a local newspaper filing your something like that when you're just at the school there on NASA TV you know is probably you know hundreds of thousands of people watching you. Announce where you're going. That as a lot of pressure you have your family behind you and all types of stuff and you a lot of hat. That's Michigan a city University of Miami it's there's a Larry but the man you got through that and it is. I will had a Franken Woolley is those who want to chime in here the drummer for sure what's going on frank. You guys do. Obviously picked up jetliners. He's certainly I just lost your first Arctic Circle please rankings aren't paying allies adapt or no doubt. Cover your having to up the I bit my reading. Attica state. You know property damage and but we all questions surrounding the bills in the upcoming C like this article and add that. Our coach drew up. All coaching outfit called I'll try to Q who else the guys who maybe I might or weakest borrowers. All like weathered out we viewed it yeah. A restricted free agent. Like Al brought jeopardy or whoever. Tyrod Taylor citing the graft. OK real quick so Alison Jeffrey is not restricted free agent and lastly he's he's a free agent they made placed the franchise tag on him though which would. Essentially make a restricted but he's he's going to be a freeagent. OK but. At what point. It was easy to all of these watches capped the arc hitting answer I assume fighter that you'll get a. Okay not necessarily so here's let me give you the exact dates on when teams can actually start doing this column. Teams can begin. Putting franchise or transition tags on players on February 15. All right they have. Until. I believe the deadline is march 1 was from February 15 march 1 you can say. This guy's our franchise guy this guy's Eritreans wishing I you can put the tag on them and if we do not do that in a guy hasn't expiring contract. He becomes a free agent starting march 7. You can call the agent you can talk to the guy you can start doing dealings you can then signed them officially starting march 9 does that make sense. Okay thank you I'll open OPEC cleared up all that so from the fifteenth to the first is the windows of the bill so let me put him they'll storms. If the bills wanna franchise tag Stephon Gilmore which I don't know they're going to do. They can do that starting February 15. And then up until March 1. Let's let's not kid ourselves and we all know that. At the com mine at the Senior Bowl places like that agents and teams will start off the gas it happens with it we know that they all teams do it all ages do it. You will start to talk so that you can. At least get to market value out there you know to so. You know Tyrod Taylor's agent is going to find out you what other team on life you know find out exactly he's got to find. I'll be there we'll talk to people it is it is the ultimate. Let's see weak weak tampering and bad and that's really what it is and we'll take a timeout Merck still it instantly got a lot more from him coming up. We got Rex Ryan to talk about he's talked about the bills. To the New York Daily News and also. Free agency and sent signing it all goes in here today we'll talk about it dumber you show.
