Thinks he's not John Murphy show. Peace he's done John Murphy show. I don't know I should start the show like crying or being excited or what here my last day after the fourth night of filling in. For John Murphy. I'm gonna have your your Dow Jones what's up means you have to have some fun we get we're gonna have some fun today but of course I'll be back at some point I think. You know let's say it and completely screw everything up for everybody out there and like we know hot that due back anymore. I don't think that have you know except the broker has been at the is that okay for the last who I think was at a fund two weeks I've enjoyed it out thank you very much you made my job a lot easier here and I know people that really I've got a lot of great feedback people vote here in. In you speak about some certain topics that we brought up so I appreciate it Merv did a great job at the Super Bowl last week of course but. I've been here filling in for Merv last week in this week today's my last eight billion you'll hear from me of course still on WGR Sports Radio fight fifty. And along the way here on this program or elsewhere I'm sure but so let's have some fun today got to wrap things up in style. With a plot of kind of things and topics I wanna get too down but really wanna hear from you out there today when we wanna hear from you. We're gonna give the forum back to the fee instead of 3055888550. 2550 what I mean is. If you missed anything at all over the last two weeks you wanna talk about you wanna call about you have any questions about the bills free agency the draft. The team all that kind of stuff. Feel free today put our producers to work make them answer those counts 803055888552. Pipe it be without miles are gonna get into. A pretty cool topic I think battle is a place we can take this a lot of different ways and we're gonna get a lot of great feedback on Twitter and where you get some calls on this I think. And that is NFL rules. And procedures and when I mean by rules and procedures it is. Not just typical rules on the field like other things that the NFL can do and procedures and how they operate. Everything from a number of teams in the league to. Powell holding calls should be administered whatever doesn't matter all that stuff. I don't think it all week and we've been bounce and some things back and forth all week and today I think is the data really didn't do it Ali G luckily what you'd change about the league what you think would be. Beneficial for the sleep in the reason I came up with this. Idea my head this week Donald is. I have been listening and I agree by the way to the huge. Outpouring of frustration. Up NHL fans about the NHL offside rules and the review that's been going and how people wanna change. And I know my colleague WGR Jeremy White talks a lot about the 321 point system that should be changed in this morning. They had Craig Constance on and he even said he believes that should be changed a lot of things that need to be changed QB change. Throughout sports. In baseball you saw this new rule. Gonna have right there where in. An extra innings they wanna start. Somali office second base or right and to speed the game up so that may be you get a a runner too early on an extra innings so we don't go 141516. Innings right. It's based on news of long and I played baseball. I cannot. Sit in watts a full baseball game are even if it's tough for me even in the playoffs now you get later into September into October I will watch a game maybe one game if it's you know to do to. Two good teams playing but for the most part back and watch and so. It then they can do to speed up a baseball game. I'm all for me and put put a runner on third base with a runner at home played every every one beer and to speed up the game. While they're at that's an idea for baseball what about football what what things. Would you do to help football to change the game for the better that's we'd like to hear from you today whether it's something dealing with a specific penalty or replay. Or in game operation or in game. On EO I don't know procedure or just lead procedure a league rules. All those kinds of things that's what's on the table today I have some things I wanna go over with Donald and with you today that maybe you can chime in on and say hey. You know that's something that I'd like to see change it maybe you haven't even thought about 8030550. Is the number 888. Like 52 pipe it also today we are gonna speak with Brian Mitchell and Brian Mitchell is a really good football player and Eagles and Redskins right and done. He played the early two thousands for the Philadelphia Eagles. Which meant that he played on a team that Sean McDermott was. On the coaching staff and David Coley was on the coaching staff the people who TO. That's a good question I thought about that he I don't think he did because he was gone like O two world three I don't know teel went to the Eagles in total. 04 they may have crossed paths for one year. So we'll have it right on the last we'll look at these I don't know he's he's come up at the bottom of the sour actually at 1230 but he did. We certainly will. You know ask him about you know playing TO and whether or not he deserves to be in the hall of fame but we'll get that as well you know David colleague suggesting. Because we're gonna ask Brian Mitchell on him. He was a quarterbacks coach at southwest Louisiana and Brian Mitchell the reason we're bringing amount. He was that southwest Louisiana he played quarterback Brian Mitchell moved from quarterback in college. Two running back in the NFL but his quarterbacks coach in college was the bill's current quarterbacks coach David Scully but David Collie went to the NFL became a wide receivers coach ray. So. I'll ask you Donald what do you feel you were player. And you saw a coach who switched positions as a coach but he had a lot of experience. Maybe be coaching running backs and almost any coaches receivers does that do you have any less respect for him in any regard. Move. Aaron. So when I got here to buffalo and pat first of I've never had a true wide receiver. Coach I never had the money you actually played the position we all know that most coaches or a lot of coaches that's Ian and it felt. Never really played full on wages grew up you know their dads were coaches and so they were kind of grandfathered in if they knew he knows all those of boys club and most a lot of these guys never played so for me I never had like a true. Why receiver that ended up coaching me that it really teach me to ins and outs of playing wide receiver. My coach is here and and it's not knock in those guys but they were one of them was attacked a tidy and I believe in the problem with the BB. And so it's it's not like something that's uncommon. When you see coaches that played a certain position in coach a different position or UC coach is that close to certain position their entire career and now they're coach is something else. This coach is quite frankly move around like that's what they do. And I think personally I could coach the good coach a good coaches have been able to view if you know how to coach the game coaching teaching anything in that realm to me about relating to people. That if at that that's what it is. Now he may have to gain more of your trust as does he know what he's talking about. But once he does I think as long as you relate to people and you can communicate what you want I think to me that's the best coaching. Now here's the problem in the NFL the problem is that. They don't teach in the unit so the coaches don't teach what you mean by that. A lot of coaches don't teased actual position all they do with tell you the place like this is the place so. You get in a mini camps all they're doing is trying to make sure you know the plays you know all of those you know which is supposed to know on the field. But they're not teaching the ins and outs the intricacies of the position like assigned to allow taught. These wire receivers how to run routes and things like they don't do that most coaches in NFL don't do that and so that's why it doesn't really matter these votes moved from position to position because their job really this is not a place. Allow is that because they feel that everybody who's at that level should already know all the technical aspects of the don't need to teach. Is it is it because there's no time to teach because of the way that this practices are structured and how much interaction you have why don't NFL coaches and by the way I completely agree with you. As a former high school coach ice to go to NFL and college camps and things like that watch. We did way more teaching wave or teach you those grassroots levels than these guys but I would expect that because. At that level you would think maybe they already know what they're doing. Right yeah I guess that's what they think I guess when you get here and when you get to the pros they feel like you're supposed to know how to play the position even when it's your entire life you played it for a three or four years in college. And we need to hear you suit you suppose that now and if you don't know. You bet it is learnt trial by error you know on the field you have to learn how to run routes and things and quite frankly do they have the time. In practice no they don't have the time but that the people who. Who take it. The most I take it serious the coaches that taken series will take the time it will make time and say listen. I wanna really teach you how to run routes and we need to do it at this time when we really don't have anything going on disliked guys are watching film we need to sit down and talk about. Running routes we can watch film when you running the route and we can go out on the field. And actually work on it just like they were doing what part of don't the last coaching staff had taken at a time to teach him. The position in and playing quarterback. Coaches need to do a lot more bad but. Coaches at this level. They've got a lot of them don't kickers like a lot of them it's they don't have the time door in the season to really teach. And they're really just trying to cover themselves sure. There are a lot of coats is that just wanna cover themselves in mesa that they have a job and so all I need to do is make sure you know the place and a man. Well I would say though that if you do have those coaches are willing to take more time to be teachers and I devote themselves to helping out with all the little technical aspects with that would help I mean right and especially guys it's about when we we always hear Donald out. Developing your guy developing a cornerback developing a wide receiver whatever is and that the development. Is supposed to be the development I think. You know a lot of times the players have to actually develop in the offseason. Mike when you might go back in. And actually learn from a wide receiver coats or learn from a quarterback coach and guide beckoned teach you. Different things on and that's when they expect the players learn because when you get in the season it just don't have the time the really teach him to things that they need to teach you but they do need to take more time. And teaching these guys you have this posted the wide receiver position for me it quarterback opposition's. Quarterback wide receiver. DB these positions that. Really stand out when a guy doesn't know with technique in news is. So you look at the wide receiver position. You have so many guys that come out of your their run for the fourth report before the has always talk about how this guy just plays its priority and eons of Gordon the first round. This guy doesn't know how to play football like he doesn't know how to run routes he doesn't know how to. How to lean on on BBC doesn't know how to uses uses Hayden users' eyes and all that stuff and now those are the things that you have to Pete's if all he knows how to do was run fast how far is act and give him and how much better does that make your team is partly to team much better. If all you have is a guy can run down the field. So why would a coach teach a guy. How to run routes and be Savion route running or how to read a defense as a quarterback why would they teach them that year I just don't get it right. I understand that they don't have the time during the season but they need to make more. No doubt about it in and here's the other thing I will say that. One of the differences between going from the lower levels for the higher levels from high school college the NFL. As you grow up the latter especially NFL of course it is your job they also expect you to do on your own when you get home. When your high school the only time you're really teaching but all on the football field you're not expecting Beckett go home run route to his backyard you know because that's his job he's packet and paid he's got homework he's got history class he's also playing probably trumpet in the band. And if you go to a concert or something. In college they have classes as well but of course it's a lot more dedicated to get more football time something like that when you get to your level to the NFL level. I would assume part of the reason the coaches may say. Look I'm teaching at a place it's partly a T you go home and got some of those things like however you do that you know why you're getting paid. Think this is your job every day when you leave the facility your job doesn't and necessarily. And I go home. I job goes with me because I've to write columns at the watched film on the bills I can do a lot of things it's my job it's my lightly it's what they get paid to do. For NFL players for baseball players whoever it is when your job whatever it gets you get paid to do it when you're away from the facility. You're expected to still work on the things that make you better at your job when you go back the next day. That it not not necessarily priceless maybe when you get up to those levels. That's also like coaches say that I mean you'd like I can help you a little back and show you some things you've got to do that. On your own to work out go to the field house after practice and work with a couple TVs and that you can work better off getting up press coverage I only have an hour practice. And we don't have time to do that an hour. Now the effects still remains that if you have a guy. That hasn't learned what he's supposed to learn an offseason we'll guess what your team is not any better because he didn't do what he's supposed to an offseason he still technically or your team is still getting paid a lot of money. So that's your job at these things. So as a coach you're the wide receiver coaches the DB coach doing a job just like you expect the players booted out I'm sorry your job is as the coats. Not just to teach the plays but teach me. What I'm supposed to know about the position and that's my issue with these coaches moving from position to position and I understand for a coach himself. It helps out on their resume to say out coached quarterbacks are coach our receivers I make those DB's I been coached linebackers you know it helps out. And that's what goes to show that everybody. Has all out for themselves in this league it's all about. Trying to make yourself look good it's all the players wanna get paid to coaches want to move up and get paid a lot more money. Me because according to become head code exactly all those kinds of things I I do think though Donald have a date better knowledge base of everything around. The team as you get older you have more experience around the different positions I think it does help you in regards to how you deal with the room the offer to staff the entire staff if you understand. If you've coached let's eagle from coaching aligned to I'm tight ends and it which isn't a big shift would it's a little bit of a shift. At least when you get it offered to meeting you understand what he'll line coach is saying about how his guys have to do certain things and you could fit it into your guys. Maybe when you're younger and you've only had the experience of that one certain position you're only looking out for you and you can become a little problematic or and you know. As selfish in the room thing about your only your guy which I know it's what they do a lot of times but. At least it gives you a broader sense of what happens with the team I think that to be good for any team. I think I think that could be an act and also make an argument that you know you can do. A lot of things good which you can do anything great because you do and so many different positions rank and you might be OK it coaching line. But if you end up coaching one position your entire life would guess what on the best thus the team's coach Wright that in this league because that's all I've been bill. You know it's funny bring that up a special teams. John Harbaugh was a special teams coach before he got the ravens' job and he was a good coach right away and I believe one of the reasons he was a good coach right away. Is because as a special teams coach he dealt with everybody on the roster he didn't just deal quarterbacks he didn't just deal with defensive backs. Every day at practice he dealt with guys who played defensive line. And running back and linebacker and quarterback or whatever you know maybe quarterbacks are plea specialties we get the point. Or maybe their older so they have to. But I think that that also can really help you that a special teams coach actually has more interaction with the entire roster than any other coach John Savage and add your. And coach that's the truth because there's so many guys that make the team just because that's right there's so many gap I mean if you're not a number one. You're going to be plants that the teams in some form of mass. And some have even the number one guy's number one wide receiver in number one running back might have to place the special teams right so the special teams coach yes he has an Iraq that everybody. Across the team now. When you look at I don't know how works and I which you look at. Mr. basketball and you wouldn't take. Patrick Ewing and it's now want you to coach starts. Right you know also wise in football that all these guys move from Christopher this. Allow and it's as a good point it's interesting but. Agassi football's more of a sport where they can. I think they cross over a little bit more a little bit differently because a big man's way different than a point guard noted how they do cross over a little bit but it's good point at a now. We'll see but anyway there there are a lot of guys do that around the league we see it was legal in college at dollar team to team and they're gonna change positions that a lot of times that's how they do get. Have an ability to rise up the latter but anyway it's just a topic there we can talk about that that piggy backs up what we brought up yesterday Kyle Shanahan called plays. And how much if you're just focused on one group. You know at the CEO we got interactive with and everybody on the team. I'm gonna be very interested to see Sean McDermott calls plays or Leslie Frazier calls plays I don't think he's necessarily decided or he has he hasn't told us. But at least he has a guy Leslie Frazier who's done it before he's been a head coach. Personally I would love to see Sean McDermott be more of the CEO would have Leslie Frazier called the defense under his guideline. Lines this is my defense you call it that way I think that's the better way to go. That's that's the best way to ago you know this is this is what I like to see in a defense this is my defense I want you to call the defense. Not necessarily exactly how I caller. But these are the guidelines this is what I like to see how the other had sat in case only the top do something wrong and I might step in and say. I don't wanna do that you also just understand that and and for coach McDermott he's a young coach he's gonna have to step in. In front of a guy like Leslie Frazier whose experience in me going there for awhile you know and so it takes a strong individual to be able to step in as a rookie head coach to step in front of a guy who's being potent defense but also been Hickel to mislead you say no we're not doing that you know also. I'm from. When you look at Sean McDermott. It seems like he can get that done yeah Tom but it also seems like he has the right approach. Just hiring the right people to do ended up. Speaking of that he has completed his coaching staff the bills have finalized. Their coaching staff under Sean McDermott are 26 coaches total. I believe under Rex Ryan or about six more than a 32 so quite of the quite a bit of a difference there when you think about it but there are 26 coaches. Excuse me. On the bills' coaching staff Sean McDermott has completed his list and that included three hires basically made official yesterday. One is the offensive assistant Chad hall. As I said a couple of weeks ago we knew in urban reports Jeff hall would join the staff. He was he's a young guys never coached a forsee didn't think he would be a position coach he's not an offense of assisting that for him. Foot in the door will see what he can do to help out whatever chuck McDermott acts asks excuse me on that side of the ball. On the deep and decide Jim sound Otto has been hired as the defense of assistant as well and then bringing back the assistant to the head coach who also was for Rex Ryan. Is Laurie Young so those are the three coaches that I came aboard yesterday that were made official. Chat off it's an assistant Jim sound out of defense assistant assistant to the head coach Lori young. The only other ones beside Laura young who was an assistant to Rex Ryan who remains an assistant or Sean McDermott. Did he cross that is the only main. On the field football coach who has been retained on this staff the special teams coordinator. Other than that the head straight to conditioning coach and his staff have all been retained Eric Seattle. DM the burden mark collector I hope I sit there and wash your ams are icy marks wrong apologize hell loot their hand Jason knows mark so. Those are the people who been retained for a full list of that. Go to Buffalo Bills dot com Chris Brown has a right up you can also go to WGR pipe at the dot com. I've written up as well but this is a brand new coaching staff in all respects doubt except Purdue crossed in. And the strength conditioning snap and an assistant and head coach. It is I mean. As it is something that doesn't really shock me you know because new coaches when they come and they want new coach they want their own staff and they also want their own players also even if summit thermos atlas and I wanted to I wanna go at this Hamas and that he's still in this but if he did say I wanna let this whole thing. That wouldn't shock me because that's what coaches do they want their own guys that they feel. Fit their system now at the end of the day we know with the business. You can't just cut everything you can because you have guys in the contract and so on and so forth but. There's like we talked about their gonna evaluate everyone on this team just like evaluate and all the coaches. And decided we wanted to bring back and we want to let go he's going to evaluate everyone on this team and decide. I can work with this guy in my system or not and that's I would think that's what they're doing right now. 803055888550. To 550. All right what rules or procedures in the NFL would you change. To make the league better we've already had several Twitter responses. Come our way thank you very much we appreciate here we go let's start with. Justin who says and by the way we want you call on this and tell us we think what some of these or Kamal what your own Justin says no penalty for kickoff out of bones. Less hitting that way and you were touch backs. Major setback is spotting the ball though so I don't know hold a seat less hitting and you were touch backs so no penalty for kicking out of bounds he's saying. If you allow them to you that we would have less of the problems that occur on kickoffs which result in injury. So you know and know how they at a kickoff out of bounds so I kick it off. It rolls out of bounds of the twenty you're at 45 threats that know just like other politicos want it did the kick off out of bounds kick off out of bounds to take it where it is. Garrett with them and I think in my. And I think it's let's that puts more pressure on the ticker. Knowing that affected his lot of downs are gonna get it they're gonna get at the Ford that's right like this game is really it's this approach also and so it's all about pressure. Rightly everybody has pressure on them to do every right thing and so you know we're gonna get into what I think. The rules should be or what rules what needs to be tase about the NFL and it's gonna come down oppressor for me and I talked about this a lot. On this show but for the kickers. I'd like I mean I like the fact that listen if you kick the ball out of bounds they're gonna get at the forty that's pressure beauty ditches up. Let's go to another one this is from Tommy I like this suggestion. Get rid of the automatic first down on illegal contact by DB just make it a five yard penalty if the results of personal results a first down. To get rid of the auto contact our auto first down on. Alien contact so in contact with different capacitance me I'm a big idol might defect that passed an affair it's you get the ball. You know as a spot now writes oh they did just well. Let's talk like that on a second but let let's just say for second before we get to that this is just the page he bumped down to part on the field should be automatic it is right now an automatic first down. I don't like I agree with the I agree with this it makes it way too easy to get an easy first down. When it because basically any penalty in the defense is pretty much an automatic first down except for offside ethnic or illegal procedure preached at. Any penalty during the play that I can think of is an automatic first down why. You know of its first in its first and ten even a fighter penalty just make a person buys. We know what DBs need to do better what did you may be their coaches should post him up allowed back at app after app. That's maybe what I got you know iris you're gonna defend that if so what do you think about the pass interference rule would you rather go to the college rule. I've been on the Yahoo! how is refusing I don't like the spot as a wide receiver and even like it I as a wide receiver I don't know like I don't like defect that you can you can throw the ball up to destroy a bomb. And as a passer appearance on the one they get the ball and wanna I don't like. And I happen to. Yet but that was that was in the end zone and you definitely interfered got to do right you certainly end zone. That's tough ones so but I agree I I tend to agree on this sixth if I go back and forth. Com. You don't future Obama guy is wide open and experts in the DB descent I've gotten I got the ages drags him down. You basically annually given fifteen yards but he should have a forty yard reception that's for me to swallow but. But I recently sticky tack calls it like I can't believe that schema for forty yards. A free for your item is gave the ball at the one arm all right put that to keep that are like yeah I think. Is it only be a fifteen yard penalty automatic first down fifteen yard penalty. 803055880. Fact that the two packet you get a lot more here to talk about on this. Come your way as far as the rules and procedures of the NFL but before we do that Brian Mitchell. At 1230 which is on the other side of this break Brian played for the Redskins and Eagles but. He was also coached. As a quarterback my bills quarterback coach David Connelly at southwest Louisiana sees it tells a little bit more about the coach the bills are getting to tutor their own QBs here on the job Murphy shows up to Roger Dow Jones will take time out. We'll be back after this. I welcome back of the John Murphy show for tonight no go right here. From one bills drive an hour one buffalo studio south of pot GO here today element former Donald shields with me as well where bills wide receiver. On the subway fresh take hotline at subway eat fresh. We have former NFL running back return specialist Bryan actually joins us today to talk a little bit about his former coaches now current bills quarterbacks coach. David calling Brian it's Al it's Donald thank you very much for joining us here today. On a throwing it or. Pretty effort to get thinks what we do these days man. Art that. You know he didn't about the issues speaking to break open off the boss know you're not about it and don't bisons are. You know I'll. It the sort out there at least there are every year we would really took their part this or we get it actually uses it. Recruit really from an. Old. Now. To keep movement. Four and therefore you will realize it's that you are. And AME east she's a picture you making it still play a little bit Brian I'm telling you that. I. Happy Brian you were a quarterback in college right and how that transition happened from you from quarterback to running back in return specialist. Well. The department yeah Bill Gates there's. It accurately crowd where he would run the ball wherever it in my forties although several current. Peru with 47 Kirk. Not your own. Our children. That would be that it is open now. All. Well it won't guys that it we did so well it was because Rome. Well let All My Children. Brian we look we're looking at pitches right now Maine like back in the day. Not really has them all like big huge pads all ministries. If it's are so it as a light feuds in the Dodd and I really. Well they don't want to have big so as not good. All that much over the known that I think. Got debating whether they belong in the east where. I had like potentially certainly in my career that decline. Although they won't put to task force would be an affordable Marshall in effect for judicial affairs for more extreme government so this. I never had a special in its. We had what they've been you know I like this course I think it records. The they have not made so where I was which shall. So. You being a guy that went from quarterback to playing running back. You see it happened so many times when guys are coming out of out of high school to college or even college into the pros where they basically force guys it's a.'s position is that something that you. You know you you're OK with that are there ever any instances we like many since force I got its days he actually can play quarterback. Work the they are they if you want to do this because. I believe the pro game is getting more useful at all and so. The book I was so it was possible. Though he's now also qualified eleventh and you're not strictly social. Our complete surprise to golf I was evidence recorders. I have a daughter now it is because there eight days it will force a lot of guys were going. You know I read more or like some sort of also it would announce a lot. Our quote. I think you will definitely. Gifted if they'll want to stick where they're. Critical to kill those off with particular contract we are all such overflowed its. It was kind of I would sleep I dream and there was to a friend of bill artery open indefinitely that they got booted out the. While you were a darn good NFL football player one of the best all purpose. Players to come along really over the last 2530 years yet amazing career with the Redskins. And Eagles well before that. Southwest Louisiana which I don't all of our listeners know that is actually now Louisiana Lafayette right to change your name that's their the raging cajun still that same school. Federation so we know and take a. Right and outright but when you're there David Collie was your quarterbacks coach as you played quarterback. I he's cents when on the NFL he coached wide receivers for a long time and now he switch him back to the quarterback position here in buffalo what can you tell us about your former coach David Collie. I think you quote they're it is what that meant a lot from that the quarterback. Thought they could play quarterback himself instantly. Or bowl quarterback in college senate bill. And their dog will be equivalent it is the ability regulators how we're sitting with two you Japanese ex. In the upper what is. If that would be too seriously doubting their buffalo. And outlook are a lot of debate it was better perhaps art is out. It aren't quite well and I was up in the past because it was different day here. He said he only their coaches Google later. They're here. Because it is definitely it will work goes. That was getting. I got to recruit we're just goma that comprise the night it will try to let David. Even though because he plays are quick. So that that situation right here bleeping bit who opened the quarter we got beat by itself. You get this guy out there to a fancy this. Got my own if Clinton spoke with implicating him every position that coach. No matter the level of its we've got a lot so I expect to reduce they've been what was it. Hey Brian what do you think about we would do is debating in the in the last segment about coaches in the NFL. Now we all know that those toll plea quarterback he's he's caused a lot of receiver. But he played quarterback when he you have a lot of back in college to coastal record comes. Which have a lot of coaches in the NFL that never played a position and the end of coaching that position would you feel about the only thing about it. Well for being jealous because. You know players. Go to telco. And I had a quarterback or they'll play. Any college football hall caught on pro football but he always told me. If you don't if you have a lot of them about what our belt we are never did it. You know I I I I think you don't have to play the positions. Could be a good co edit. What would you played the position get a lot more of a lot quicker player. There what you you don't respect the quicker you get past a lot of those silly thing early. 'cause I think every coach Wallace and give respect where it is clear what give. What our citizens so they didn't play critical of him and find out dude you really don't talk about a big job because it is clear of. Hey Brian Sean McDermott the new head coach Herm buffalo he started his coaching career with the Eagles. A little bit like you or they're you remember he was there an assistant to the head coach Andy Reid. I. Article Blu-ray won't prudently put. I'm far from won there before organs taken it's really that productive to our. And you can participate if you want him to the war and world where while I was. Well. Definitely you have to prove it to so so I was almost. The guy who they can look at it follows you so everything so you can see a lot of him in the local. If you go. Bracket those sites that. But they talk about physical wanting to play with fashion and look at that and they expect you irritable recruiting year. We spoke about it people wanna see it also. Yeah I'm looking over your career numbers here I don't think people realize Brian there's only one player in the history of this league. With more all purpose yards that you in his name happens beat Jerry Rice and the only reason is he played that extra last year we got like 400 more yards otherwise be a top. Everybody who's ever played in the history this league. For all purpose yards still in inning you retired. You know 1013 years ago at is that crazy that you think about that. Yeah. So we know what was. Murdered most workers are in Europe where we're seeing you are delivered the ball well. It should be all over its low. But it will play well well I know a big debate that they think it's important these what the king. You speak about at all if they would actually making it. But I guess if we're seeing here is because the power of soul. You know it's it's not you know when I see you've got a budget resolution that lives. Monday might when I was governor. Disability. Brian you talked about guys that that played a while and have a lot of athletes. Tara loans that guys who play on a good amount of years he's appearing yards top five what top three updated receiving yards. But for some reason you take in all the thing with some thoughts on that. I think. If the pro football player that is not it is about what you did also. Opened anything to do we're. You know don't care which are to have a problem attractive. I think alone without apology that the you know. Put fear. Self serving way side. And open but wouldn't you know the single drill that is all afraid. You know I think it's definitely true well with people when you need twenty or use the involve saying. Mutual also promote welfare of the use believe it again. You don't bring. You do anything else. Who would they. What I think is the fact that true. You know maybe you don't that you wouldn't want to talk or all of the currency will be replaces. Mexico well. Also output of Philadelphia district is well. I think doubt they're really won't affect you there could barely adequate but all they're. Building. So I don't know why that is being and are hoping to be corrected lecture is does things. Well deserved to be there before his. Brian you yourself were a finalist this year for the hall of fame and you have numbers among the elites of this game. Someday hopefully he'll be enshrined in kitten as well I mean is it something you think about a lot is something that discourages you when you don't get that called geely should be. Worth this to your outlook or all day. Whatever you're also able Omar Rivera has been number one on we see that there aren't you wouldn't want to play with the by the world. I'll watch Jay Payton now that all these years and play zone aren't the best office writing his. On it was a foursome will quickly quarterback's. Read from running back. Also it was that you've been covering only works removal of fable that London Tokyo and all the things are John written at all. You got Austria or more I think due to code won't do so they know. I'll wait I'll let you go folks who want to get the look at your vitriol from him a lot more we have a lot of that. Lot of work that policy issues. Well would you sort of don't like to have kickers three kickers. More bears in this year's ready guys youngster group. Although not only special teams players that everything is should the game itself there's disqualify all of play. Really jumping out the ugly you're being tested right now. All week kickers. Deserve all afraid of variety of its. Well Brian I mean look you're preaching to the choir here remember Steve tasker played buffalo played them awful long time. And he's he's arguably the greatest not return man specialties player to ever play this game in a lot of he'll believe that he should be in the hall I know it's an uphill fight he probably won't get there. But we believe that here. Well we thought we put we put people ordering it was there that. If you look at the agency in a lawyer or account with your foot off the block. The thing what it is it's cold in their remarkable. It gave us saying failure of it as it would go all the way all vote feel people force put this. The whole scene and I understand I'm glad to cover. Up but. You're right look at well they load these guys. Get choked up accurate or can afford to give it the nobody got out of note that yes but Michael. Got beat what are your heart you know that they aren't just don't understand. Hardly be called old football. Hall plays and you know what is it in the position. In every position equally. Right now that the biggest question is you have two guys and we talked to somebody about this couple days ago you have two guys coming up next year that have. Well documented off the field issues and ray Lewis and Randy Moss. And those guys in that did them. I think I'll let both go out of force that was. And now this Wednesday. Brett Favre had issues with the will be on retailers. Painkiller and all that stuff. And I talked to from all the say over and they're all lovely an old saying if you wouldn't. Forget about all of the English. From there and if they don't feel about all of these. Two it has failed won't go for it won't give. Yeah because it's it's a hypocritical situation with TO percent. I mean absolutely no doubt about it I agree with the U. Nothing. That incredible. Email across. But he didn't get in trouble he picked up guru psychiatrist believe the bears out there. As sort of they're remarkable record give it their ball. What's wrong with that yeah no yeah no doubt that they'll Martin. Any right before we let you go this year was the 25 anniversary of your Super Bowl 26 championship team and I hate bringing up because I am on buffalo. Bills radio right now the manner the bills were so good that year but really you guys that was abuzz sci. I think that is one of the more underrated Super Bowl teams we've seen you guys really ran through the league. Pretty I can't think under the radar and then maybe it's taken a long time out of anybody really appreciates how good that team really was Brian. I go to look at what was the biased towards this and all he could directly that you're also uses their special involvement outside. No we knew it wouldn't do what we want to do we want in a incidentally. It was written a book what would welcome there too often. But they've just awful lies. The rest of your. I think he put it in the youth are more recourse nine that. Night six and you go. We're we're Major League simply used to seeing the deepest thing weird. Tired all the facts. And in public always been in the history of what you're off I'll betcha didn't score at will we pick and people back. Well it will be republic the best ever. Not. At all he called friend. Salaries their weaknesses opportunities. It all the way in the term and it is good. Yes that was it that was a great team it was part of the it was part of ruining my childhood thank you very much right out and I thank you very much that he thinks are coming out that's all right thanks a I don't like that year and were you were great player and fun to load our events are passing councils that are I know I. An American back at at. You're you're awesome to watch really enjoyed watching you play and hopefully. You'll be in that whole thing someday we really appreciate you joining us today. Aren't they if they just got to get. At B match live CS and he's doing a lot of good things out there I'm telling you that was people think like all the bills and what this force of rebels we talk about the losses. The bills were really really good and the only team league that you're that just happen to have that incredible year the Redskins were a machine that year there were raising. You know Barton a view to any other year you think the way the bills play that year but one team just rose up out of the ashes to be incredible. Here happens like that you know you thought that was that I thought that was happening this year right now that's right candidate has let a bit like what happened. You're right I think I'm a little late to break we'll come back we are a lot more. Table for his stick on all the throughout all in the meantime what rule or procedure anything about the game would you change whether that's how the league is set up some of the things they're doing. Replay why it's playoff wise rules wise penalty wise challenge heading to the table today and dumber you show. We're back with more of that John Murphy she. Really really good stuff from Brian Mitchell just now thanks a lot of the tweets a lot of you reacting to that interview on Twitter at sell sports at DH owns nineteen you can follow him at the Mitchell lives CSN but thank you very much less a good feedback on that he really was terrific. Lot to get insight analyst go to the full lives right now mark in Jersey City what's up brother. And Manto area thinks it with the Pope and I've always wanted to. Is that the I don't understand why the league doesn't have a development league and I understand it's always crop that we cannot solve. And what movies have developmental leagues aren't sort of for profit hockey. Soccer in Europe and everywhere else Major League Baseball. And the debt collection are coaching I mean that would be the police are so many types of commonly just aren't already. Which are. Thanks for the what do you think about little things aren't you know for me a development league. It it works and then it doesn't work and costs are up with it wouldn't work just speak. As a player. You have a certain amount of time. To make money. Until they start to say you're getting old and we can't pay you know so as a players like I need to be on that level. Or will have a chance to get paid because once I get above 26 when he seven they're gonna start with them all this president like the automatic positions and things like that you know so. I need to be on that level so because sometimes guys get paid just for me can keep playing the game right you know and so. You have players that say I need to be up there and just get much out of there but. From the aspect of the standpoint of you do need to developmental league because Mikey says there are so many players that come into the league that are not ready. And that's the place where you teach these guys how to run routs how to. How to do certain things out the back two quarterbacks how to read a defense like you do need that and it might help the product that you have on the NFL field you know and now you have a bunch of guys. That really know what they're doing because they've played in this development league so I you can look at it from both ways by the way you can also coaches and that the only thing that would help and we talked that you talked yesterday about a host Tom yeah -- awesome idea coaches in that league it would help out because now Europe your head coach indeed developmental leagues and now you know when the throw talent flag went because you've got down you know you might not make as much money. The guess what you wanna be a head coach in this week going out there and learn how to be coats. And I had come up here and decide really if you wanna call plays or not and be. No doubt about it I think that's a great point Donald that was off the I wanted to expand on that when you come back if you will coach Tom and I love this idea you had. And none of you brought up on the year before but you can bring up on the air when we come back maybe his suggestion for something you can do got a lot of great suggestions on the air. And on Twitter I should say and your phone calls still. What can the NFL do to be even better leave what changes can be made I got some interesting ones and throw at UN Donald when we come back as well. We'll get into that seat he agrees or disagrees to go to different direction on some of the issues. We'll come back for the dumber.
