I. They are and they're ready for the. Howard Simon Jeremy lights. It. We had three tough games in a row we're down to the wire and you know we got one tonight but it's great when we go is Jack hill goes pretty much she's been there when he's good we have lost when he's been good. He was really good tonight. Non WG ER Sports Radio 550. And disfigured. If Jeremy was here this is how it would have opened Michelle I've and I figured I'd send out a little love another a lot of Syracuse fans. That listen to the show that here in western New Yorkers who are streaming online whatever so I thought I'd send you a little love. I want some of the game last night I did not make it to the end. I came in this morning and saw the highlight on sports editor of the John Gillen bank shot to win the game. And my first thought was. Port of Jeremy storm the court my second thought was he probably didn't sit close enough to the court to have a chance to storm the court. And I wanted to say something just a quick here about this because. I would I you know I I commit and I get ready for the show and you know we have speakers on here in the studio so we always listen to the first and last what we're getting ready for our show. And I don't know half hour ago or so they're having the discussion about Syracuse storm in the court yes some fans storm the court. When they beat duke a much in the highlight again right here on sports center and they're gonna run onto the court and I thought. And I wanted to bring something up and edit it. It's weird you know I'm 54 going to be 55 in June. Felt like I'd be at the point in my life for I would be turning in to get off my lawn guy you know Ryan would become. You know. Just. I don't know was the word cantankerous. And not quite sure. From Nana curmudgeon I think cantankerous Chanel and this talk that shouldn't bother you would bother you. And yet it's weird in some respects. And you you know you know we listen to the show every day we hear we have a lot of different discussions about different things and sometimes. You might think the opinion would depend on whether your 55 or 35 for 25. I think it to shape up a couple of years and Jeremy stage we don't we have different age ranges on the show between myself and Jeremy and break. So we got a nice range covered. And you're you know you'd think I would be the one who would be the stuffy. I would be the one. Who would point out we go Arizona coyotes. What do you tell your own fans not to do the way you know like I could be that guy. And yet I find myself. I don't know if it does again as I get older I just think point in the got to pick your spots things that should really annoy you I'll be honest with you. The debate about should Syracuse fans storm the court it is Syracuse to me is silly. I head stormed the court. How fun it there's so many let's just have fun. In sports can we just enjoy it more and not think about well you know. Syracuse can't stop. Lot of fans you can storm the court although you could only storm the court if you beat a ranked team not an unranked VCU team. And kiss fans can't storm the court because it's exits by northwestern fans if they had you know Alec can actually. Clinch an NCAA tournament bid at home but you don't save northwestern basketball fans they never win anything they can storm. Just stormed the court I don't care. You know if Carolina beats duke and it's a big win for them and fans wanna go on the court fine. It was a big win last night for Syracuse. They're on the bubble first of they're so first it's duke you beat duke I don't care it's special. Everybody hates duke other than duke fans you beat duke it's a big win on anybody's schedule North Carolina beats duke it's up party. Number true. Duke is tenth ranked in the country in Syracuse is on rank number three Syracuse is so firmly. Firmly entrenched on bubble. They didn't win. And I don't know the game even wit that they're seventeen and twelve to get to twelve losses. The gonna have more than that I would think I don't think they're gonna run through. The schedule the rest of the way including the ACC tournament get the automatic bid so they're on the bubble and they they needed a big win. To help their tournament chances. And that's a big way and I think it's that was listening to them. Call of that I think it was the Syracuse radio called third time they've beaten a top ten team this season that's big for the tournament committee in the selection process that so I went. And you know in terms of students storming the court hey it's Syracuse right. And I'll bet there are students there who never stormed the court you know it turns over you know freshmen become sophomores become juniors become seniors in the elite. And then new students come in who haven't been apart of the storm the court experience. Main storm the court have some fun bottom fans go ahead stormed the court I mean I only worry about it. My only concern when it comes to storm the court has always been. It it's twofold it so it's kind of is an injury but I always the idea of fans from the home team like absolutely out of their mind excited. Thrilled. Celebrating. Mixing with opposing team. Having lost game really not in good mood you know audit and the idea of a student and perhaps maybe some students who might have had a beverage or two before the game. And do little tailgating before the game running in shape and that fuse like I just I I always worry about. Some bad happening. Crazy bandits in the face of a player from the other team who's who's ticked off that they just lost and something escalates and to get out of control. That's the one thing I always worry about with the storming of the court. I think Mike you shot he came up with Mike she's just she was talking about this years ago I forget which game was but duke is used to this duke duke might. If there is is that duke might lead the country in courts stormed against them. Because it broke you know you beat duke it's notable and and it's a good chance depending on who they are the other team they'll stormed the court and he had a good idea about how. You know although I don't know if you do this at Syracuse but. I guess you could you'd have like. A ring of security around the visiting bench and just just make sure they have a pathway to the tunnel to the locker room that's it. You know fans can storm the court which just trying to whatever you can't separate the fans coming on the court from the team walking up the court having lost the basketball game duplicates and that's the thing I worry about. But we're at a point. Where I mean this discuss in L. It gets too big it's the joy but he's the bat flip against the Texas Rangers gets through some of them really. Would you list things the NFL does when it comes to celebrations and and a I I understand were going to walk the line. Storm storming the court is not talking. But with the bat flip. With some of the you know through the penalty celebrations and laughter because you'd I'm still thinking about the NFL where there's a penalty Cuba down on one knee a lecture prank that it's not a penalty. Com. I understand there's that we walk the line. Between celebration and taunting in certain circumstances and as they said stormed the court is not is not taunting. But for goodness sakes I mean we're we're talking about games where there's a lot of emotion where there are fans screaming players are getting jacked up adrenaline is flowing. Turner in did draw the line playoff spots are on the line in the NFL. You play sixteen. Games like every game seems magnified. You know we sit here in week one of the bills lose the Baltimore got all god that's that's bad. This is it's a big clot that's a tiebreaker lost man that's that's gonna really hurt their wild card chances it's an AFC lost its. Head headlock we want we do that because every game the importance of every game is so big in the National Football League when you opened sixteen games. I just think we have to lighten up I mean. Just. You're are there there's too much of a get off my lawn mentality and yeah I guess that's it I I don't everywhere you go what this if you have an opinion on it great I haven't you know. We don't do it in hockey obviously you don't you can't storm the court you can do it in basketball. You don't really it I mean it doesn't happen in NFL games it's happened I mean it's it's well actually it's happened in the past mean. Years ago here right what do have been. Who g.s and try to think 88 no debt right 88 I wasn't here for that threat when the bills clinch the AFC east I think people stormed the field either that. Or the streak breaker against the dolphins in eighty. Didn't bills fans stormed the field and take apart one of the goalposts. I think Greta that's a long time ago so it's it doesn't happen a lot in football it never happens in hockey and really it it doesn't happen in baseball you know you're my age you remember fit like when the Mets won the World Series and 69 fans flew onto the field and destroyed the TARP. So it doesn't really happen there either. I don't know he does it just got to let people enjoy the games. As long as you'd be you know take away that I don't want athletes running the risk of being injured. And stop done as they said I always worry about some physical confrontation insulting. Getting out of hand because of crazy happy fan unhappy player and the two colliding in the room. But anyway. OK so I I said my peace and good good for Syracuse that's. That's really that's really got to glad for that I power and great which he journeys after that actually was. Was going to text him to see if via stormed the court but I thought it is kinda early. He he might have done a little post Syracuse win over duke celebrating and I thought I'd let the guy sleep in this morning. Anyway April 30550 Joseph at 888550. To 550. Here's write whatever I actually wanna start the show and I wanna I'm gonna spend time this morning talking about the sabres. But like goodnight on the out of town scoreboard last night Florida Boston and Philly all lost and all lost in regulation illusion points that's nights. The jets game OK somebody treated and instead it was the jets game in 88 when he clinched the AFC east. And this person has had the poster OK it's right I thought they took apart one of the goalposts. And took one of the upright it wasn't what didn't like fans trying to bring it up to Ralph Wilson's box. Yet they tried like carrying walk up the stage like it went up through the stands with the gulf with the upright. I don't think I would I believe it's door yet. To bigger box you you got angle exit left a little definitely have to have like a sliding window open for that. Is it would be. You know like stick it out the window would be kinda. It elect a flatbed truck where the thing is stick it out the back in the got the red flag at the end to let you know oh look there's there's that giant hole sticking out the back of the truck. Okay and I'm glad we had it right yet everybody is stuck in 1980 vs Miami team that seems old small I'm getting tweets on this the team sold. Small pieces of the goalposts on a plaque OK so it was all of that anyway. I had stormed the court celebrated wonderful. Good for you Syracuse huge win for them fine. Etc. I do wanna talk about the sabres we have a lot of ground to cover this morning. But we're also gonna spend time on the bills because south going to be and from 8 to 10 this morning we'll talk you know of course extensively. About the quarterback what's going on with Tyrod in the story yesterday that. Supposedly he's medically cleared. South gonna go to the timeline that dates and all the ramifications of what can happen out there it is some growing speculation that maybe Kirk cousins would be available. Either on tagged or tagged and then traded so we got a lot of ground cover with that and I wanna talk about the sabres because. Three quarters of the way through the I Wii cute and kinda it take a breath you can stepped back. And breathe there's no grind of dated eight games to talk about it you can take a kind of a look at the bigger picture and I wanna do that with you I tweeted out the top or this morning and hopefully get some tweets and get some calls. What's the like what's not to like about your sabres this season and as a set I'll get to that. I hadn't planned on starting this week but I wanted to bring this up just for a few moments. I'm driving around yesterday. I got in the car Q to to go was as the ice cream run I think it was the ice cream run you know you get that. That warm day or two in the winter and what's your first thought. Okay. Grilling might be your first thought what your second thought I scream. Salt well last night to do a little ice cream run for the Simon family. And which reminds me I went Jewish Anderson's and this may Anderson's by us is right next to ration reds' hot dogs. They had ninety cent hot dog day yesterday. All my goodness. You could not get anywhere near either building part of the parking lot for shreds. Was packed. The side street. Schmidt is on one side she may Anderson's is on the other side street was wall to wall carts. I think. I got a dish Anderson's and they were packed. And I'm I'm gonna guess that one of two things was occurring either pay people well we're going to sheds further ninety cent hot dogs and thought. It's way too busy there let's go across street to get Derek Anderson's or they were eating their ninety's and hot dogs and and going across the street is commander since to get them to. Maybe they just got their their wires mixed up and they thought pitched in oceans was she Mets or maybe it's much Anderson's was. Doing ninety cents Sundays or something I have nor the place was. It was like oh. Anyway so I got my cart and drive and I'm gonna make the ice can run a turn on this the station here what Mike Chris are talking about now. The and you might be of help me out here but if I interpret this drug because it was mid conversation right it would have been. I don't know ten after inside a segment is my point. And they were talking about being emotionally invested in our teams in in the bills in the sabres. And I'm going to guess as I said if if I have this wrong please correct me. And if you were listening to the full conversation and I haven't read you can just treatment in a poem on the right track. I'm gonna guess it was a by product adds something to do with yesterday being the ten year anniversary of the brawl bottle. And and how back then you know how emotionally invested we were how everybody was in love with those Saber teams I mean. Unbelievably. In love with those Saber teams back then. I got clearance I can say ads they're a sponsor okay. But my boss text that is that we can say Ted's okay. We've we kid around with businesses and whether or not were allowed to say businesses we we've had this big debate years ago suggest if you ever wonder I get a treat every now and I'm like why do you guys do that. Jeremy and I will always put SHM. In front of every business that comes up in discussion. Because it's just us being goofy anyway so I am definitely have a discussion about what it was like ten years ago how we were emotionally invested I know. When a couple of weeks ago we played the clip. Of the brawl the other Rick Jenrette call. And one of the things Jeremy pointed out was the noise the noise levels of the fans what you can hear. In the arena not just the people get off. Pounding on the on the glass on the boards. But but the energy eleven in the building and for years now we've we've gotten calls we've talked about you know people called say there's no atmosphere in the building inlet well you know the problem is. You know. What do you got what do what has their opinion to be excited about in recent years some but I guess that's where they were emotional investment in the team as a byproduct of what it was like back then ten years ago. From time to time but I try not to dwell on it because I think. I I I do try. To not live in the past and let's face it if we're gonna talk about when actually cared about our teens when the bills and sabres were fun we are dwelling on the past. With the bills were basically going back twenty years. With the sabres. I know they've made the playoffs since that the back to back conference finals. But if you really wanna talk about a team that was truly embraced by the community where everybody got on board. Then you've got to go back ten years over ten years coming out of the lockout and the back to back conference finals so. Again I I think. It's I always I had those memories they're awesome memories if we bring them up on the show. I get that as you I'm sure do as well you know if you if you lived through the Super Bowl years. Then you start thinking about I consider and say fight just said to you Jim Kelly Thurman Thomas under Bruce Smith and start naming players you probably have a smile on your face. You get that warm feeling that comes over your body right like when you think about. Some are your favorite memories as a sports fan in all I can say. Chris jury Mexican again off Rangers playoff game Nobel and you annual have like eight an ear to ear smile on your face. And to demonstrate bulldogs point Bulldog was talking about how one of the things we miss outside the obvious of our team's winning and making playoff games. Is. You remember games you remember moments. You remember like exactly where you were in bold August talking about who you're with watching the game with where you went after the game. All these little details that you would remember and I started as am I guess I'm driving around listening to this on the way to get ice could. And I started thinking about that. And I thought yeah he's right and I started thinking about. I know Orion was. Debris air double overtime goal against Philadelphia. I know where I was the 76 game and Ottawa the rare game I was that. The 76 out of a game was bowling night it was out my wife at a local bowling Alley trying to watch the game on television. The pollen bill goal in Ottawa the shorthanded goal and in the family room jumping up and down what my wife and my son and were freaking out our doctors were yelling and screaming. They're there. The Dumont gul the overtime goal against Ottawa to this today. If I think JP Dumont Ottawa. I was at the game let that not I took Jonathan. In my mind. I will hear the chants. Walking down from the 300 level going through the stare for going down the stairs. From the 300 level down to the street. I can hear in my head. The chants of sweep. Let's go buffalo can hear the car horns. Honking. When I got outside the arena and we were walking to our car and people sitting in traffic you can near the car horns honking and you know to that two bit to the beat of let's go buffalo when your honking your heart can look all that like that and and it feels like yesterday it feels fresh. And end it struck me bulldogs right. You don't have that anymore we we haven't had that for years the memories we have at its worst with the bills and it is with the sabres this Justin doesn't it that's seventeen years I don't know if you know that. The memories we have from our heartbreak you know the memories are airmen were I was in the Steelers scrubs came in here and beat this. The Dallas Monday night I'm not gonna go through the whole list. The point kids. I hit the it was an interesting discussion because I said I know that I know it's there. But I don't try and dwell on the past to make me feel better about the bills and sabres that's not gonna really accomplish anything. Mean like I can you know I can sit here and if I start thinking about Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas and Andre reed and all those. Great players and great teams it doesn't help bills get a win in 2017 doesn't help the bills find an answer at quarterback. So I I I don't feel I again I think you just feeling sorry for yourself you dwelling on the past. But it may it does make you think about the current. And I will tell you this. I've I've never been this down about the bills ever. I mean hope tank that and it is completely empty. There's always been even in recent years fumes. But they've been so many coaching changes. And ownership changed. And the quarterbacks keep rolling through here and none of them are good enough I've never. Again going back to Mike and Chris is discussion. I've never been this. Bereft of hope if that's the right term to use with the bills like the sabres. I was thinking you know how far our week. From getting back to where we work to what most guys were discussing to where you really knew him you embrace a team. You take them to your chest. And feel like now this is my team and in York you're just locals. And you get right with the with the bills in the early nineties sure and in to this right. People still have a really special feeling for some of the guys on that team. And used for sure you did it with the the sabres back to back conference finals teams I always make the joke I mean you know people were standing in line at. Check men's. Waiting to to get these commemorative coins. For the firm for that team that year so. With the sabres. I honestly belief. I really truly believe edit this is not hope trying to convince myself I've done that for seventeen years with the bills and I've I've really. I don't know when they're gonna win again. IIIA. I trying not to think about that because it truly is depressing but I have reached the point where I have no idea. If or when they're going to be gut. When the get a quarterback is is is probably the answer we're whenever you find that answer quarterback the answer is you'll be good but who else. Because they just keep changing at one bills drive and and nothing. You change the players you change the front office change the coaches in the product still the same it's it's really. Somewhat like sucking with the sabres. I truly food and feel I believe they are headed in the right direction. To me there's there's. Evidence and you conceit if we sit here and talk about the bills and hey you know what nothing's gonna change too that the quarterback at the most important position on the field gets what sabres have a personal play they have a franchise players name's Jack eichel. You wanna build a winning hockey team what are they talk about why you better get top senators right didn't archery gear years ago say. Top centers just don't follow up trees or grow on trees or whatever okay. They have two top centers. They have. Filled out. Two top lines. They have. A cornerstone defensemen good young top defenseman in Rasmussen is the line there are some pieces in place now that this far from done. And this season is a testament to that. But. With the sabres as I said as opposed to the bills I look at what I see on paper and there are certainly pliers you can blow up. Who doesn't look forward to every game watching Jack Michael play. And in year and number two. You you know you watch this kid you get the puck he's got the puck in his own end any start to go up by senior on the edge your seat. Because this guy is electric. So there are certainly components to the team you can see you can get yourself emotionally invested in as a group it's not there yet they've scratched the surface. This season was a start. But it's still far from you know you're really in the right emotion invested when you are yelling and screaming major radio. Or the television every time there's a game on. You are pulled out made a really great point about this. You all are more knowledgeable of other teams in the league. Like when the sabres were really good you dull about other teams in the Eastern Conference. Now you're like I am who's in town tonight and OK Philly I don't know how to do it because we don't care as much. Right we were glued to end the out of town scoreboard we were glued into the offseason moves the trades the free agent pickups what's gonna on the east how good is this team how good is that team. We were so locked in because when you expect your team's gonna be great. When you legitimately feel they can compete for a Stanley Cup. You are more aware of what's going on around them you care more about the rest of the league and the other rosters the competition. Now it's just you know like with bills and sabres more so with the bills what's the point. Until you get to that point you don't you know you're not as as invested in the rest of the league to. But as I said. It's it's getting there with the sabres and you know what. I think we would have been further ahead I know we would have been further if Michael doesn't go down day before the season starts. And misses 21 games. Like is that there there have been games this season where you know you you get settled feeling back you know. Where you get that natural high after a win like San Jose comeback game was really awesome. And you get that high and you got some adrenaline and I'm I'm like I get that spark I can't wait to get in the next morning and talk about it and then their other games where they would lose and you get. Angry or you get you get that feeling in your stomach that all this loss is gonna get me for the next two days until they play their next game. That's what playoffs by the way are all about right the Los eats at you for 24 to 36 hours or whatever and then there's another game. And it's an unbelievable high every time they went a playoff game but you know you got to quickly come down because two nights later gonna play another game. I think we would have been far more emotionally invested with this team living and dying with team. What's going on in the outcome scoreboard if Michael doesn't get her. For more points. And they're tied for a wild card playoff spot five more points they're tied for third in the division that would extremely durable if Michael doesn't get hurt his injury I think. Did did did an injustice in terms of slowing down that process and keeping us from becoming more emotionally invested in the sabres team but it's there. It it it is headed in the right direction and they've got the shot as opposed to the football team. Like I said you know what I don't. Really have like a topic I mean if you have an opinion you wanna share thought that school. I wasn't planning on this I just I heard them talk about yesterday and it made me think about a little bit last night and I'll tell you what I'm old while relate for the break. I won't give you an example. Of what I'm talking about one of my teams in these last couple years. That just wraps this point up I'll do that we get back 83055888550. To 554 Nigel if you wanna share repeat what did you do headlines now. Is it is coming appear on 630. Good night on the out of town scoreboard last night sabre fans the teams that had the loose lost and the Renault loser points involved. Florida Boston Philly all went down to defeat in regulation. The arts plated keybank senator last night and they beat Utica through to an overtime callow rally had a game winning goal Hudson fashion scoreless night. OK I could've scored that goal well I mean I would have fallen down I can't skate there was a dump in off the end boards bounced up in front of the net. The Utica goalie without a neck and he went around the gold plated the puck that was shot and this is thinking that easy. Easy play from its intention whatever counts Google. There's a report it's doubled tweak the bye week planned. Use two different weeks half the teams often one week have to teams often the other week as opposed to how it's run now. College hoops big win for bottle last night to beat San Jose 377. Bodies nine and six in the A ten that Mobley at 31 points cues gets a John Gillen banked in three point shot. Can't take over. She's yeah. We don't you different are in Austria I was trying to. What grateful for it or what essential often so all credit because of various federal justice starts and I'll tell you begin to look at our. She ventured that it could go up funny typical summer tour and. That's Justin Bailey. He was hours yesterday prior to him. I've got client all of sudden he had no button here at the by the way did you. Did you receive my message there in the first segment when are talking about storming the court now people need to lighten up. I eat I got what you were trying to tell me and I'm just work is trying to impart some advice on you young man. You gotta have some fun. Neck and did you let your hair down hey you know I will say I don't mines court storm and just give it a little to just wait. You don't have to do right away c'mon. Whom they beat Billy Porter dormant hurt for instance is lake saint Bonaventure is just like you know well that I know they got it wrong but still yet you you're literally any. Any factors that could make it wrong write you looked up and if you were to slot thought you saw zeros on the clock Kabila a game's over I'm going on the court. Anyway in just the last point impeached for some real quick all. Eric's. If you watched the game last night and love to know your thoughts I obviously I caught the first period and then it was sleepy sleepy land for me. Ice and I spent most of my time. Watching Neil lender. OK I mean you know it it was a good stat I saw this morning. And read it I don't have it in front of me. It was about how do you know typically you're not gonna find eighteen year old playing in the American Hockey League because of the rules the rules are. Typically at that age your your backyard junior eligibility you're not going to be there but. Neal Lander was different who he was able to go at eighteen into the American Hockey League in and they had the numbers of of how many eighteen year old have been in the AHL she's a wanna say it was like maybe the last twenty years some like that and 50% of them don't even play more than fifteen games. My point is there's there's ability there but sure at times last night he looked like lost completely ineffective. I I thought I'd see more of his speed concise you know you sought for short we all sought in the pre season. Didn't see it as much last night got a couple nice plays he was on a line with alien Rodriguez which. I'm sorry emirates fans I know the season's not going well you cannot have Justin Bailey back but that would be a fun line. But he was online would Bailey Rodriguez and there a couple of plays he made one for sure he did a nice stretch pass to Justin Bailey. Right on tape to tape my spike. I didn't see a lot of the speed factor and I thought I would. And he deftly needs to get stronger. He lost one on one battles on the clock. He was not the most effective guy in the defense to zone when it came to getting possession back. And you know transitioning over to offense. Seoul. Is that the it was not my aunt again one period of one game take it for what it's worth. But I was flashing back to a damn Embraer told us and he said you know he has some good nights and some bad nights and even inside games there's an inconsistency some good chips and some bad ships so you can see some ability there. But it's got a long way to go. Bright and Alex near lender often times throughout this entire season has had games where. He'll look Fastenal like a really good playmaker and like nobody can touch them up and then nights like last night. He'll get pushed off the pot quite easily he'll get taken down on the boards and he needs to I think it's all about physical maturity for him. But again he's an eighteen year old. Playing in the league we're right exactly you don't see players younger than wanting bright and looking at Craig buttons top fifty top prospects that he released a couple of days ago his outs mile and a rated number two yep there's only two players on this list that are in the HL that are eighteen year old that's. The Lander and yes he put the RV with and militant organization yeah. Everybody else besides that they're playing in the each other bank 192021. Years old. And it's and it's. It kind of surprised me that you later on top of that again him playing in the HL and him even just having 21 points the HL at this point is pretty. Pretty good for eighteen year old in a league that's. Its debts. I don't know how to mature that's mature beyond his yeah beyond this point right now maybe maybe next year you Lander will with a little more spots strengthen on the. More eyes you know what. You got it what do you have a list up because I read that the other day. I don't remember I know but was really impressed with the skill set I camera but did he do like a comparable likened the lender reminds me of gas he dead who'd be right to open Belsky that's our military's ability to excel in any situation night. I'm with you you know what it reminds of a little bit. Reinhart when Ryanair was here and we said yup he's got to get stronger. And he spent like the whole offseason in the weight room and working out and you become he comes back you concede the difference. Now granted these lenders are much better skater than Sam Reinhardt but I think you can see it last night Brayton there were times where. You know I'd expect him to just pull away from players and he didn't. And I and I would think he's got to be faster than a number of guys that he's going up against and in the American Hockey League and as I said there were times. In more solid that I think more so in the defense of zone he's on the right wing. So it p.s on the sidewalk there trying to battle for a puck trying to get it out of the zone maybe near the point he's not win those battles. And that that struck me too and again I think that comes with is not a big kid that comes with. Weight room work conditioning work strength work Reinhart did it and I think this kid can do it too and and when he when he and and as you mentioned you just maturing in eighteen year old playing against older older guys in the American Hockey League and it's his first. First professional experience I think at like a set a time she just looked. Like he just it like he wasn't much of a factor is right and and I think a lot of. Sabres fans would love to see him up here obviously because of what he did in the pre season in training camp in development camp work. He scoring all the shootout goals and he and he's got these this amazing skill and he can. You know he can be sick leave deacons out of its phone Booth but. There's points where. Last night in the game specifically I remember it was the second period he's trying to make him move around the defenseman so he puts the puck through his legs which is incredible tries to get to the outside but the defenseman easily just you know puts a hit in all and just pushes him into the boards just so we easily I mean give it another year maybe two. And me Lander will probably find a way to get. Either passed him or fight off that baton hip checked there. And get to the puck faster. If you watch the game you got your thoughts on and on what to soften Alex you can share lemonade a trio for a fifty let me. I you know what it's were on the brakes so I tell you what pat just to wrap up what I was talking about the bills in the sabres it would. Shall for the bulldogs were discussing yesterday I'll explain as we get back I have a perfect example. The whole discussion of emotionally invested. Now how we used to be and we're not there now and you know when will we get there again in mentioning you know I think I think. I know. The sabres are ahead of the bills from that standpoint I don't know until the bills get a quarterback I don't think they have a prayer. With the sabres you see the components in place. The complete roster is not done but you see that the really key components in place including that franchise player in Jack Michael. That are are necessary to building a team to compete for championship which means you'll be emotionally invested. I wanna bring up one a mind. Mike truly favorite all time team. Is the perfect example of what we're talking about because they are. They are the bills. I'll explain about that in a moment 8030550. To join us 888552. Factor to Jeremy up today. Howard great with year on WGR. Brasilia yell and yeah I forgot I was up when saws are losing secrecy is a gazillion Betsy out there and when his team and especially so in overtime. Hudson bashing scored a goal last night in the average win over the Utica comments at keybank senator Howard great with you Jeremy off okay. Let me wrap up this discussion that I said it. Wasn't really like a show topic I just I heard Mike and Chris having this to this. Conversation yesterday about how we you know it would be great. It will be great would be great when we're emotionally invested in our teams again. And dumb I have the perfect example of this. It's my favorite baseball team my first true love as a sports fan the New York Mets. And I said I think it's funny I I was born in Brooklyn raised on Long Island OK so I was raised. By my data my two older Brothers to be fan of a to be a fan of the Mets jets knicks and Rangers. You can make the argument the knicks right now are more like the bills because the knicks haven't been good in forever. But the nets by and large regulator the bills right fifty. What is it now seven years or so. And yet Super Bowl years yet the AFL championship show blip there in the eighties were for the most part on average to below average football for the franchise. It's it's sending about the Mets you know for the most part fifty plus years. 55 I think. They've not been gut. You know the one sick they went 691 and 86 minute refused 2000 an idea that a united of the year against the royals. But for the most part not gut. The last couple years though I I say I keep saying I've been like reborn as a met Stan. You forget what it's like to be emotionally invested when your team is just not a factor for an extended amount of time. And then they went on this run I mean 2015. Considering they'd actually didn't win the World Series is one of my most enjoyable seasons as a fan. That summer that stretch run the big games against the nationals the trade with just but it is the big games down the stretch sweeping Washington in Washington. The clincher in Cincinnati the series against the Dodgers this series against the cubs making it to the worlds are was awesome. Last season gee you know your tenure in even though it's a 162 game season. You're looking for the next game and your emotion invested in the game and you're checking out attempts Colbert won the nationals to and last year was. What are the cardinals doing what the pirates doing what you know with everybody in the wild card race is you know the metro could win the division. But it reminded me again. What it's like and I love those that that 2015 team was so much fun to watch down the stretch and I loved pitchers is long as they stay healthy a love SaaS business. Another a number of guys on this team I'm I'm just. A big fan of these guys and you forget what it's like. That's what we need with the bills and sabres what I've experienced the last two years going down spring training next month I mean I can't get enough. Of the Mets I'm like 1000%. Back in because they win they contend. And when you truly believe your team can make the playoffs and can actually do something. It's a whole different world we don't feel that way about the bills. And we're a long way from feeling that way about the bills and as I said the sabres are just scratching the surface but we don't feel I don't feel that way yet. About the sabres because that that this roster isn't. One that you can truly wrapped around your your arms around anyway as wanna finish off that point and the Mets is what it's what it is that's you we get that feeling back. It's gonna be fantastic now the champagne and some heartache. There can be a World Series defeat Kansas City Royals there's that that we some heartache but that columns. When your team is that great that good to great when you have those high expectations when you expect playoffs you don't hope. And crush your fingers you expect playoffs and you expect. To compete and make a run and be in the championship round. Sure there's gonna be pain and heartbreak that come with it will take it right we'll go back to those days 80305. Dipped just when we get back. I sabre fans love to hear from gave you'll notice now a wanted to come through. What still like what's not to like about the sabres were at the buy for them. 62 points in sixty games three quarters of the way through the season.
