Presented by NAPA Auto Parts John Murphy Donald Jones and joined in studio right now with the bike Chris Brown bills insider at Buffalo Bills dot com. Take a brake temperature here in their bank in a way it is an electoral and I am the last 24 hours with a collar reflexology. As the vehicle massage like your hands in your scalp and stuff. I could hurt. It's it's been an interest in 24 hours free agency has really opened and it's kind of the new normal now I think over the last couple years work. Really stuff happens in the twenty Puerto through six or before the free agent market opens up really. At least in terms of the first wave right you know free agents that sign. I think teams like it because they feel like they have at least a a run up to kind of kind of lay out where the money's going to be going early. And I think that helps them cement steps 234. In terms of free agency whether it be. Heading into the weekend. Honest. Answers. He had made peace with. What it what had transpired. In week seven down in Miami. I think that speaks to the fact that as good players he was I think he's an even better person to be that day. To know how much air loves playing football. And just a few months removed from that hit that put him in the hospital and put his career in question. To be at peace with what occurred. Mean to answer that he gave me was accidents happen I actually put that quote that he gave me a locker clean out day in my story I'm Buffalo Bills that come right now. Accidents happen. I'm not the first victim I won't be the last he understood it was part of the game I don't know that he wanted to justify the hit. But it was clear he didn't wanna go out of its way to call a dirty either I think he knows what the risks were what he signed up for as a professional football player and he except by that point in time here accepted the fact that anybody goes out there can be a victim like he was he just was one of the unlucky guys. In my before we go further we apologize we had so audio issues technical difficulties a minute ago some of view on listening on the Radio One. Are flexible buffalo WGR need to know we're talking we Chris Brown. Bills in setter from Buffalo Bill stuck I'm just talking about Aaron Williams and I think Rosset on both WG Erin and industry. Brownies so you know with the loss of Aaron Williams. Where should the bills look necks I mean this is said to be very defense of heavy draft dispersed yet deceit being corner position. The due date need to bring in another veteran to to to have some veteran presence and. I mean I think that would help. I think you have dad probably a veteran and a young player potentially in the draft done you know when I was on your show here last week or earlier this week we're talking about how. You know the draft class issues exceptionally deep ample safety and cornerback so. There will be opportunities there I believe through the course of the draft when they decide to address it is obviously going to be. Largely predicated on. The value being right at the right time. But I do think you need to bring a veteran in here I don't know if it necessarily has to be somebody. With experiencing coach McDermott system but I think it's got to be a guy that's been around the block in this league in knows how to run and orchestrate. The defense in terms of getting guys lined up properly particularly in the secondary because there's going to be some turn over. At quarterback here to need to find Gilmore and looks like he's headed to New England. Corey white to freeagent yes you've got Ronald Darby and you've got coupons Seymour in the full most notably the quarterback position but. If you bring in new safety on board to run your defense. You know with Deron Williams now here. I I think you need a veteran here and it's done it before knows how to handle other guys and communicate. Chris Brown docents out of Buffalo Bills to a camera to get your calls in a moment get to Tyrod Taylor but. They did bills did sign did sign Mike Tolbert that we expect some more announcement coming up after 4 o'clock today. Tolbert combined with you know design and Patrick DiMarco he put some perspective on that force there's a lot of people. Are confused what we need to fullbacks at two different very different plans to do very different countries it looks. Yeah I mean I've seen the reports on on the market area and I you know I think it's very interesting. That's a guy who in college played tight end and fullback now he's I don't think he's tied and easily six foot one he's going to be tight end in all likelihood but I think coach Dennis in offense is one. That lights. A stronger receiving option at the fullback position and I. You know if it is in fact comes to fruition in the reports are accurate. And DiMarco is on the roster I think he's going to be that quote on quote pass catching option. At the fullback position I think Tolbert is a guy that's gonna help you primarily on special teams. And is probably get a vehicle line that is the guys over thirty touchdowns in his career most of them have come from two yards or less so. I think that's the role at least in terms the offense that I would envision for Tolbert. And and you know working out on special teams redemption that's not to say that you know of the Marcos. Acquisition goes through that he wouldn't play a role on special teams either but I just think Tolbert role as more heavily. Suited to special teams goal line carries the market is probably have a bigger role. You know now when you talk about the signing of Tolbert of both of those guys come does that say anything about Q with sleet and out of the ones. I don't think it does. You know I mean let's be honest guys is that team that ran the ball lot I don't think. I mean coach denizens offenses with coach Kubiak over the years they have been shy about run the ball either. You know you need three guys. To going to a season that you feel good about Doug Whaley has said in the past that he feels good about those three in one of the mall back they've tendered might feel asleep. I think in an ideal world they probably would even like to sign him to a multi year deal. And and you know if you do that could potentially reduce the cap number that much more. But I think those three guys stay in largely the same roles and if Justin Williams has a great training camp who knows maybe his role could be even larger. Going forward this year. Chris a couple of other reported sightings and I just want your. A quick takes on Stephen how to get the kicker reportedly signed maybe that gets announced that at 4 o'clock today and levered to cut us who also was reported the deal in place. Yeah I mean I see you costs as a swing guard kind of that guy that's gonna be in interior packed up. You know he has planning his starts under his belt in his career. Bounced around the last couple years but I think the benefit here is there's an obvious connection with. Coach yes DO having worked with him last year in Baltimore obviously he liked what he saw there. If these reports you know. Come to fruition and you know he signed on the dotted line and gets things done later today. You know Kennedy envisioned him as a deaf player on an interior of the line for the bills and then you know with respect to how OSHA I think the big ad. In terms of his speaking ability is on K this is a guide can handle kick offs. I think he had a little over 64%. Touchback percentage with the Seahawks last year that was twelfth the league so. The past few years. They've had a kick off specialist it's it's gobbled up an extra spot on the roster I think if you can leave that spot open. To address other area easier football team it's beneficial having a kicker that can kick field goals and also kick off effectively for your special teams coach. Back to the efforts like don't tell Chris your theory about growing. I was I think there's might be something there not any information that rarest so they can about. You know my thought process on guerrillas obviously be tendered him he's a guy who rules. Who's played tackle in the past he's practically all across the line so you put him at the right tackle. We all know you need right tackle mean you don't know what's gonna happen was sent with Massa a central with Cyrus. Centro you obviously don't know what's gonna happen with him he has suspension looming over him so. You need right tackle I feel like you can plug grow it in at right tackle he can get the job done for you don't have to pay that much money for. I wouldn't rule it out I mean it's certainly an option that they would have at their disposal he's lined up there at times before. Week in and week out. Maybe he'll let the competition settled Latin could you do still have kwangju in the equation here although I think he's more comfortable on the left side and the right side. He just seems to kick slide a whole lot better. On the left side and he does on the right but yeah I don't think you can rule out for a second that they wouldn't consider making Roy a part of a competitive. Type situation in training camp in then. He proves to handle the job better than anybody else. Yeah I mean you could very easily see him on the right side I was really impressed with what he did setter you know over the last seven games last year filling in for Eric would. He's a versatile guy and you know he he too was tendered but it wouldn't shock me if they try to get. Something done with him long term I don't think they've I don't think grind Roy's reached the ceiling of what he can be obviously I think he's just beginning to scratch the surface that you super intelligent. It's very underrated talent on this roster is IC Chris. Around bill since at a Buffalo Bills that come we are gonna get Tyrod. But there are you know reports anymore and probably confirm to 4 o'clock. Reports of bills I'm restricted free agents going elsewhere and I wanna get your take on. On these Stephon Gilmore with the really big money means reports are true fourteen million average a year ago right patriots. I. I was I was pretty resigned to the fact that the fund was not going to be back here as early as last summer when Josh Norman. Got the tag rescinded from him in Carolina and then signed with Washington for fifteen leaning year. It turns the quarterback market on its year in terms of appropriate value. Jim Norris Jake inside to deal with that with the giants last year for about twelve and a half million average annual salary. I thought that was a number that the bills could potentially get you with Stephon Gilmore. He you know based on the season and I thought it was reasonable. But once the Josh Norman deal came into play. It ruined the quarterback value in terms of the market. And knowing that and then toppling that with the fact that Stephon Gilmore felt he deserved top five money. And then went out had a season where and a career high five interceptions. It was off the board for an option for buffalo knowing a cap situation. Knowing that pain top five when he was unrealistic. I just wrote it off as this was going to be twice Eckstein was going to be awards last year in buffalo and obviously that's proven to be the case is on the open market he knew what he was going to get somewhere between fourteen and fifteen year. And the bills just were not gonna go there they were not in intraday territory. To to keep him in the fold so it's unfortunate but you know I think he's not Seymour for a seventh round pick. Or sixth round pick. Is is a talent that is far above that value in the draft. And I think we saw some encouraging signs from him last year I thought he played. Pretty darn well in the Oakland game everybody's gonna remember the busted play had that he gave up for a touchdown but further probably about 90% of that game. He was locking down some pretty good receivers including a Mari Cooper within within excellent. Up and coming quarterback I thought he had one of his best games of the year in the banking even that we did have the one bust. I was encouraged by what I saw from him down the stretch and I think he is gonna compete for a starting job here you know country Robert Woods gets to go home. Reportedly eight million a year almost eight million a year fifteen eager to eat the plea for the rams. Like it's you know like rep what is good for him. The bills kept him in Sammy Watkins. Right and and that's the issue you can buy some time with watch and you can pick up his fifth year option may. This year. You know and have yourself covered for two point eighteen. But once you get to the 2017 offseason you're gonna have to be talking Turkey about long term deal with Sammy. Provided his health remains intact anything get through a season here it's when he seventeen I think that's really what. A big money deal is gonna hinge upon. But that being said. Again it it's where the market was headed value wise and I just don't think. The bills wanted to get in the 89 million dollar a year territory. With their number two wideout I think this is an example of where you go back into the draft. To get. A number twos last number three receiver caliber talent. To. Replenish your roster. You've to you've got a quote unquote go get the cheap labor in the draft right to fill that role and again this is a draft where they're raised quality receiver talent as deep as the third fourth round. Not just guys that are gonna play for you on special teams rookies guys that are ready to step in and catch passes for you wanna dance and make an impact. Now you look at. The receivers that you have on a roster right now you only have you know we have really. Sammy signed should they bring in a veteran and if they do. To be I guess a number three possibly number two what brings what they'd be looking at getting him to 4000005 million dollars a year. It's hard to say. You know when we got four million well here's the problem we've got a moving target. In terms of what the salary cap is especially this Sammy here I mean they ruled Monday that he changed. In just a few hours went 4 PM comes. And and we don't really know. What terms of these reported deals are going to be calm so it's hard to give you an answer now down but I would say. That you're probably. Bill's fans should not expect. Household names to be coming up. On the radar for the bills I think over the next week or so and and this is a classic case I think at least. As we've experienced how Doug Whaley has run free agency. Now in concert with Sean McDermott. This seems to be a position. Where it would surprise me if they wait a little bit maybe a week let the markets settle. Let the value. Fall more in the favor of the bills NFL clubs and then stepped forward and and have a couple players coming in for visits and say. Here's the opportunities here probably an ad. At receiver position in the draft. But he was a veteran coming here with an inherent advantage. Having experience in this league and you could play potentially. A pretty big role for us if you do the right things in training camp the pre season. The call here from Mike in Hamburg or has some thoughts on this issue go ahead Mike welcome your on the show. Mike can ever. Mike are you there. There is Percy in buffalo I Percy can hear me yes. But what's up. I won't you come out on company to build I don't know yay high and and our army is human wanted it to be just like this yeah I am not agree I mean I mean I'm not our our our got a great. Everything you want Lou I think to be. Between this we got talent core. Cairo lock him defenses come back an awful didn't put my hand back on the ground that's great yes we need. I think higher. Where you up with a brilliant talent. That I wrote a book feel to actually he didn't bring me no talent all our receivers and now. He broadened dug deep enough that. And he has the final say on I don't know on our ally route. Well I would disagree with that the Arctic I would disagree with your assessment that he didn't bring any talent I mean. He brought in Justin hunter a month into the season. A guy is a former first round pick him or second round pick in the league. Where are you finding guys like that on the street a month into the season ended and a guy and the guy made an instant impact what the F four touchdowns this year and then you brought in Brandon Tate. Who augmented the return game. And and help at receiver at the very least made some plays and he wasn't. Like. Light it on fire player receiver but again you're talking about a situation where once you get past week one. No talent that's on this street. His his suit is severely limited and probably not NFL calendar screw it let's say they tried person aren't you I mean to trip to give it to me. Just it hunter. Four touchdowns I mean that's a good get a month into the year I'm sorry so. I'll respectfully disagree with you on I think. Based on what was available out on the street. When the injuries hit. I think he over achieved quite frankly Justin hunter was was a great get there and you talk about not bringing in talent I mean we can run down the list means act brown on a one year contract diagnosed with a Pro Bowl Lorenzo Alexander one year contract over achieved goes to the pro level. It was a defensive MVP of the pearl. I mean. It I really think that. Don't win at least get a raw deal. Around town by a lot of the bills fans I don't I'm not saying he's perfect. But if you added up pros and cons I think you're coming out on the plus side in states. With respect to personnel on this route. Can I say this to about Whaley in and just what's transpired over the last point four hours here and they aren't structured that contract last year. Which Tyrod Taylor last August to have this option in March. A couple of days away it worked I think it worked big they got Tyrod on a manageable look. Deal last year they left themselves open if if Tyrod bottomed out they could walk away from it this year. He didn't bottom out he wasn't great but he didn't bottom out they had negotiating leverage to get a restructured deal this year. We again we'd save all the time we know what Tyrod limitations are but. I think eight and by the way they can still go out draft quarterbacks look record right and they have the ability to do that because tyrants restructured Patrick gives them some flexibility I think. If you look at the whole picture of what went on. Even going back a couple of years and and and signing Tyrod and the free agent market for rock bottom prices where they have now is a capable NFL starter on a manageable deal. With a restructured contract one year to begin a contract a way to get to I think should get credit for that is not going to be pocketed say I don't care he should get credit for the actor for preserving. The flexibility to have Tyrod Taylor around for a couple more years. And there's another plus. You know even though it is a new coaching staff is a system that Tyrod notes that mean he's only two years removed from that system. He said on your air just twenty minutes ago I'm familiar with it. So it's not like you're starting from scratch either with the most important opt in to person on the field he's gonna be pulled the triggers so he walks in and hits the ground running. Yes it's going to be a learning curve for everybody else that the quarterback knows what's going on. Knows how to take advantage of his skill set within the scope of the app and oh by the way so does the app as a coordinator who's worked with him. And so I I don't think this is a reset button situation for the quarterback or DOC. In terms of how they're going to. Ron this op fans call plays etc. and I think you've got a defense that's got a coaching staff that's gonna have them. Playing far more consistently than we've seen the last two years ago. Let's let this thing marinate a little bit let's get to OT days. You know and some mini camps. Before we start passing judgment. And let's see what the next draft class brings in as well by the so you know I I get the criticism. I understand the lack of product success on the field in terms of wins and losses as everybody up in arms and I'm there to win. Merck and I we've been here for the whole dang thing we've been right there with you but. It's been part of it. And a pack I had an embassy or an at this entire Oprah the cut but at the same time. I think you have to look at the acquisitions and in the circumstances in which they were quiet. I mean. She's in not bringing any talent and I mean like what we bring it on September 30. That's going to be worth their salt and I don't like to isn't that just rubs me the wrong because you got to apply circumstance to the acquisitions and when they may. I think you look at this roster as a coal and there are certain guys on this roster who use you had to pay to keep them here you know you talk about a Retief talk about Cortese. You talk about ourselves Charles played these guys are talented guys tile. Jerry that you had to pay to keep around you know so that's why there in the cap situation because. You know they wanted to keep bills they wanted those guys to be the core of the roster so now you're in a situation where. You have to bargain hunt you have to find receivers out there which he you have to draft well. And by the way you should draft well right thank you should draft good receivers you should get good talent in attract you should be able to get talent that end up making your team that are undrafted guy. And in India and I I give you another example too I mean everybody says we'll Doug really shouldn't get credit for the LeSean McCoy tree could really call that Billy was looking for draft choices. And dogs like Lex I got a draft choice where I can't give you draft choices look on my roster telling real economic deal that way so he's a guy that riveted. And didn't take. Or or except. Giving Philadelphia what they want it. And let's not forget this either he's you know the caller saying you bring any talent and he's got LeSean McCoy here Tyrod Taylor weather was. A guy that Rex wanted to or not they stunt to get the deal done. And then on top of that. With all these parts missing from the Athens last year I think Robert Wood Sammy Watkins in LeSean McCoy played five games together last year with Tyrod Taylor. This team is still tied for sixth in the league in red zone touchdown percentage tied for tenth in the league in scoring despite the fact that. Doug Whaley can't bring any any talent. I mean come on what are we doing here would join after hours away from the official start to create secret so what do you anticipate. Normal for the bills. Morton is an added I think they'll will will see some action here. I don't know that word. Again I. The cap situation is such an Al think we're going to be. Looking for any big blockbuster. Type names. You know I don't envision that. I think. We're gonna see how. The marriage of Sean McDermott's methodical detail oriented approach is gonna go with Doug wing elites. Thorough. Review of the free agent market where this pro personnel staff. And I'm really interested to see how it's gonna you know married together here and come to fruition I'm anticipating. More of those. Plug the hole kind of acquisitions. That are gonna address of positional needs but not the way it's gonna compromise. They're fiscal situation with respect to Daniel all this news and the Webster right folk devils have a right there. Chris Brown bills it's better Buffalo Bills Beckham joining us in studio thank you very much Chris Dodd denied back to talk more talk more about Tyrod Taylor you are welcome to join us. 8030550. Toll free 1888. By fifty to 515 we will revisit portable also. John Murphy show presented by NAPA Auto Parts of Buffalo Bills review. We're back with more of that John Murphy she. Come back showed John Murphy and Donald Jones our thanks to Chris Brown for joining us John Murphy show presented by NAPA Auto Parts here until 3 o'clock today free agency. Officially begins at four rocket almost seems. Who cares enough work accurately as I can there be anything having romo's gonna be released at four. Maybe the bills make a couple of moves shortly after four will find out but it almost seems like the big news in free agency has already been reported. Even and it happens like that every year and you know I'm Oracle's those two days before free agency actually start today a day before it starts. You hear the reports of all of these the guys who were gonna move in the big deals and all of that stuff you know comic comes out there early. And so there might be some more speaks last is that really come out after 4 o'clock like he says for the most part it's. Let me recap a little bit about what's going on here and then we want it figured we got a couple of calls lined up wanna hear from you about. The bills about Tyrod Taylor's DO yesterday about what's going on around the leak here one bills drive the bills officially releasing safety Erin Williams today. Williams struggling with that the neck injury over the last few years and he is the bills have parting ways with Aaron Williams markets eased wide receiver was released. Yesterday by the Buffalo Bills the the bills officially. In this run up to free agency have really only sign one player fullback Mike Tolbert fullback running back Mike Tolbert that was announced yesterday he was a street freeagent. That's why he could be sign that they could release at accorsi agreed to terms with potter called Schmidt to bring him back. Of late yesterday. Reports about several other players come at a buffalo including new kicker Stephen how much depth that may be announced later today a pretty solid reports that the Stephen house is gonna c'mon be the Buffalo Bills kicker let Meredith Cox. Offensive lineman has bounced around a couple of teams from second round pick of the jets. He's been linked to the bills and fullback Patrick DiMarco. Linked to the bills as well again and that cannot become official. Until 4 o'clock in a couple of the moose who before move on from DiMarco and Tolbert. I like the way Chris Brown sorted made the distinction between those two. No it's like a comedy mean today all the bills load up on pullbacks while they're. Their fullbacks with a different players in different roles you would think. You know us is so time and when you when you get to seventeen years without making a plows everything you to do was wrong path at a competitive spirits and Panetta. That's out that's how to fans look at it I mean when it came down yesterday the reports. I saw it not just from bill's fans look from my people around the league Larry the bills assignment to fullbacks. I'm like listen it's like they're not gonna sign to doesn't make sense no team signs two fullbacks and says we're gonna have to legit fullbacks on our roster is a reason why they're they're making the. Time to move and imagine mean without power in the dark random access to the South Africa. Clearly in the dark seriously that there a couple of more on where you without power thinking about this stuff got what else you think good. Now in the dark thinking about bills and and the missing a game and yes which has gone pretty well we just checked. Stephon Gilmore reportedly ready to sign with the doing the patriots big deal averaging fourteen million per year. Robert Woods reportedly ready to sign a five year. 39 million dollar deal with his hometown team the LA rams mark he's good when ready to sign a deal with the forty niners gonna average about. Four million per year for him so we think. That that your caught up on the bills let's hear some of your opinions known any or all of these issues that start on the phone with the inning Clarence a look at welcome. I would go on my question was not just wondering and regards to Tyrod Taylor arm. Are there any quarterback stopped paying that you can think of that has struggled lately he has as far as reading the field and you know going through progression and you. Can you call anyone that really. Stepped it up in that part of the game you know I feel like he looks at one too many either running or just chucked it you know and wondered if he's ever seen anybody really get better at that. No cars in my mind it's a tough one. Immediately at the time in my mind I think brand Tamils are better Casanova anyone's cut. When he for you totally different quarterback from Thailand but I just haven't sensed that I can't prove what numbers. But you know you watch him twice a year annual I've probably watched 1012 dolphins games a year. I just have a feeling the brain to analyze improved himself as a passer in the last couple here tomorrow knowing great. Aired their running game really helps out there their run game in the system that they run down near relief helps him in his passing game I expect. For it to be the same way here where. Their run game that they're gonna run here and in the play action stuff and down the field this would Tyrod likes to run now obviously you still have to be able to throw the ball short. Because if it's third down and whatever short. You need to be able to complete passes so yeah he needs to it is really improve his game mayor. But I think that the system really can help them out if they happen past the past catches around and why received dozens of items around. And got some more to doing that by the way these kind of reports trickling out about Tyrod Taylor Steele and two years thirty and a half million dollars the rest of avoidable. Fifteen and a half million I guarantee. They'll make fourteen and half this year sixteen million in 2018. Yes it's pretty much know what we thought it's it's a very it sounds like the very team friendly deal and it sets up Tyrod to be the bills cornerback both this season and most likely next season and that's we kind of wanna get focused on that a little bit here on the show today. The and also when you look at this two year deal. Right so he still has the Peru's. Still has to prove it and the bills to still go out and draft somebody you know if not this draft next used afterwards we're hearing that the quarterback class is a little bit better you know so. We talk about this deal hopefully Tyrod Taylor improves and everything moving forward. But it still gives gives the bills wiggle room over the next two years when they figure out if he's going to be directing you to draft. So it sets up our discussion what are you as a bills fan what do you wanna see from tyra moving forward this year and next year I took Twitter poll right now we got close to 500 votes and on our Twitter poll and almost half of you say you'd like to see from tyra elect's team Reeve the field. A little bit better 47% of you say that 36% T like this he better timing and accuracy 12% elect to see him throw into tight coverage more often. 5% saying he's okay. More of the same let's hear from you on that on the phones at 8030515. Toll free 1888550. To 550 dollar here's the thing. We've seen Tyrod Taylor now 29 starts 28 starts I guess you're going to technical. We've seen it is a two year starter we kind of have a sense of who he is. And we often wonder about what the ceiling is for Tyrod Taylor so I wanna just. Play this around this little bit with you what do we know about Tyrod Taylor after two seasons as a start. What are the things that we know that you can take to the bank about Tyrod Taylor and which we got a couple of ideas issues on this and I think the one thing that sometimes goes overlooked. Because we didn't see this much is past years as first year but he has a very good deep passing arm of the accuracy does not seem to be a problem. When he goes deep we sought in the 2015 season. And I think come there's no reason to think he might what they've obviously again at the gays and keep passing threat. I'm as long as the as the guys who gave them field attempted to certainly. You know he's willing to throw the ball down the field then yeah and in this in this offense we know he's gonna be asked to throw at them do so as long as he has those guys. I expect that zone from. Deep passing threat I think we can again you can hang your head and that I think right. The second go away now known as it's gonna go away that's his game what else do we know. With some certainty about that Tyrod Taylor we know that I answered this question when he was. On the show this is an hour ago it was put up 500 yards rushing in each of the last two years that a main reason why the bills are have been the number one rushing team. We know that he is a threat to run the ball in his inch an hour ago was. You know I get a lot of that your that the most effective runs I have people the user when to run its unexpected Napster with. I think we know this about charity equal at 500 or more yards per year to your profits if you ask him to do that that significant that means something ugly. Now the issue becomes and we talked to coach McDermott about this yesterday when assigning came down. You know he doesn't you don't want to quarterback always running the ball yes and Tyrod Taylor is not getting younger you know so yes to be Smart. Yeah obviously to get out of the pocket and make plays for you pick up first downs where you. When he needs to. But he asked to be Smart yes to get out of balance yes the slide so that he's healthy for the full season but we all know that that is what really makes him dangerous effectively camera. So there those are two things about Tyrod Taylor we know is a good deep pass in our we know he's a threat to run the ball 500 yards per season this might be that they think that he does best. And what makes the most attractive we're talking about what we know about Tyrod Taylor. He doesn't turn the ball over folks he really doesn't. As long stretches of time in two seasons without any interceptions he's not prone to fumbles but all the running he does all the ball in the and he does. He does not turn it over maybe you'll fall we'll get to that in a couple of minutes but. You know you can live you can get you can do pretty well the quarterback who's not reckless with the football and and no one would say that that about heritage. Definitely some people was a little while and they got it right by you know like you said he doesn't turn the ball over which you have a quarterback who doesn't deviate too the other team. I mean that's where you end up if you have a combination you can throw at the speaking do you units of 500 yards a year. He doesn't turn the ball over when you have the weapons around them and that is what puts you in the top ten offense. And number one and rest seeing you know on scoring tops in my that's where you get into that type of territory because you're not turning the ball over. And we all know you bulls games when you turn the ball. If you're turnover margin is in the negatives. Typically you're losing games you know so you wanna be able to protect the ball. Word gone through Tyrod Taylor strikes what we know about it the bills have tied themselves at Taylor for at least one year maybe. May be really two and the last thing I would put out there is what we know about Tyrod Taylor this is hard to quantify. But I do think he demonstrates toughness and leadership. He's missed just two games. Due to injury. Over his or two years as a starter but he's played through injuries he's taken some pretty incredible hit and bounced up and and and this continued to playing games. And I do think he demonstrates leadership he answer the question an hour ago on a show about. He needs to be more of a vocal leader he thinks that we asked him about that how do you take the next step in leadership. But as he. I think is he becomes more firmly entrenched as this team's starting quarterback and he just did yesterday for a couple of years. The more players more teammates will look to him for leadership and guidance I think is familiarity with this coaching staff. We'll give him added stature in that locker room I I think we know the tyra is a pretty good leader and is extremely tough. You know I think tyra does it is a leader. In his own right you know him and so like I when aptly when I was younger I was always I was captain of every team that I played so I got here well will the head of it happens obviously. But you know I wasn't the most vocal guy. And so he did even though he's a quarterback doesn't necessarily mean he has to be the most vocal guy out there as long as he's leading by example. And he's playing well T I mean this is his teammates. Are going to look to him they might come to him and talk privately. But he doesn't have to change his full personality because guys who have been on his team. Was say like that he would you don't like that that's what you write this not how you lead this team you used as play. And do what you do and we have other leaders who are vocal you know so. Even though he says he wants to be allowed more vocal he has to be careful of getting outside of. Personality so these are things we know about Tyrod Taylor toughness leadership he is a good dead the pair Cirque. Yet about 500 yards per season to your rushing offense that he doesn't turn the ball over. What do you need to see more from Tyrod Taylor. We'll talk more about that when we come back after the spree it is the job Murphy show. Presented by NAPA Auto Parts from one bills drive this is Buffalo Bills read. Murphy she. Just joined us we had Tyrod Taylor on during the 1230 segment of the show you can pick that up on our website Buffalo Bills that come a couple of minutes. And Chris Brown joined us earlier this hour we're gonna get your phone calls in a moment we're gonna go through Tyrod Taylor you know the news from yesterday Tyrod Taylor gets a restructured deal going to be around the bills. Probably for the next two years we just finished a segment on around on talking about what we know what this is the the known qualities are what Tyrod Taylor let's talk a little bit about what we bolt would like to see from Tyrod Taylor moving forward enough. I think come one of the big things and it's it's no secret. You know you'd like to see him try to squeeze some passes into tight coverage we always talk about. Other small tiny windows in the National Football League. Tyrod is as shown a tendency not to try to force the ball in the coverage right that's why we get back to the the last segment about. He and throw many picks because he doesn't take any chances I think he needs to walk that line a little bit tighter moving forward with his death. Mean these to walk that line from looking back to last season. He just didn't have guys on the field consistently who he felt like which hits the ball in those tight windows I actually feel like I feel that way are selected he has Sammy do you know Sammy and other guys. That he's worked with in the offseason he's yet he wants and feels like they're they're gonna test the boy every single time in a tight window. And did not catch the ball they're not gonna let the other team test the ball. That is an important part of being a receiver. If he feels like that that he might make some more throws into those types of windows you won on the walk that fine line of men that you should you can debate at the row. Or not turning the ball you know so it's tough when you wanna see a guy make it into those when those make those throws into those when those knots and a ball over is something that's really been driven as head. You hope he can get a little bit better at it. But she still wanted to involve. A lot yet no you don't and you want everything you wanted to be perfectly and it gives settle for less than perfect obviously the other thing and it's it's all tied in. The timing and passes it's something that I talked about a lot you know you do as the season went along last year. A you know you'd see Tyrod just be almost an accurate I don't think as much as he was laid out throw. And accuracy a little bit. But late on throws those windows closed and instant. And he has to be ready and I think it's a better job of a fitting the ball into tight coverage on time in stride is being you know that it a lot of past we catch in stride. And and that's huge that is you're talking about yard after cats yak yards. I mean you need to have that and you did that when you're throwing the ball. On time in two guys in stride usually over the middle of the field where they can just catch the ball and keep on going so yeah that is an accuracy thing. It's about being on time and it's about seeing the window open up. And throwing the ball as the windows opening and that guy's running right into that window he catches it keeps on going. It's something that the best quarterbacks in this league do very well and you would like to see. An improvement and having a body Greg cosell talked about last week and this patient rooms not Tyrod strength. Maybe as weakness really anticipate some truth in this third thing what we'd like to see from Tyrod plays in all of this. Read the field and look them with the advent of all 22 video available to everybody. That people can go look at the coach's video on Tuesday afternoon to take. That is open act as a connect well you can do that with a lot of quarterbacks in the lead guys get open guys aren't always. You know spotted by the quarterback but Tyrod I think clearly can get better at that he identified the opening guy. Al albeit they all can do better at that. With the exception of the top three quarterbacks in this week they used please see the guys who are open and that's just because they've been doing it for so long mean they I don't know what it is in the same offense means and they've been a same offense they know what they're reading the net they understand everything you know Tara also asked to improve upon that. And hopefully you see him in this offseason he's gonna work on and I'm sure com but that's something that you really have to be good at if you wanna be great quarterback honestly. I'll just couple of our observations about Tyrod Taylor well we know bottom what you like to see from him and we're gonna take a break for the top of the hour in the we're gonna let you chime in on this or anything else. About free agency the bills Tyrod Taylor what do you think what do you like about Terrence game what does he need to do better moving forward. As he moves into the next phase of his career. We got what Mario also come on back to John Murphy show from. One bills drive this is Buffalo Bills rating.
