Jordan players coming up the next few minutes here on the show Bible was from the bills may be more moves coming stick around you can always follow. On archer or I'm a Buffalo Bills that. Cleveland Browns still waiting for the other shoe to drop the Texans and the browns. Made that deal Brock asked whether goes to Cleveland. It will take us whether sixteen million dollar guaranteed salary off Houston's books Cleveland also gets the Texans. Second round pick next year in the sixth round pick this year the Brown's expected to trade away oss Weiler is well. And he a portion of his salary just to get that second round pick next year the browns also today let RG three Eagles quarterback. Robert Griffin the third Tony Romo now expected to be treated rather than released by the Dallas Cowboys both the Broncos and Texans are considered likely trading partners for them. The Washington Redskins fired general manager Scott McLaughlin yesterday a little more than two years after hiring him. His departure stunning because of how quickly he in the team reach this point the Redskins hired him in January 2015 and they've won the last couple years including an NFC. Title. The bears released quarterback Jay Cutler late yesterday ending their eight year relationship. A couple of things the team and Chicago in the statement released by the Chicago sun times. And Buffalo Sabres in action tonight and tomorrow night at home and home series with the Columbus Blue Jackets the next game in Columbus 7 o'clock face off. I reject cycle item eleven game point streak with one more point he'll tie for the longest of points streak in the NHL this season. And tomorrow night these sabres in Columbus back data that he banks that are. At 7 o'clock. That's the update from one bills drive the Jabber B show presented by NAPA Auto Parts John Murphy and Donald Jones talking about their. Sorry about that you know. Free agency we wanna hear you the fault lines open at 8030515. Until free. 1888550. To 550 call here from Paul and Ken more iPod go ahead. Yet John I'd like this feud though a question of vote that practice ice. Our spoiler this. He was with Denver before you went to Chicago. Or whatever reason you. And why it is in Denver picked him up from the ground. They eat it here cheaper there in. Toting a role. And it seemed he did have a sense. Maybe they don't com yeah I mean they know we isn't at least they can do better and talking to somebody about this yesterday and Matt affect pets we deduce how meant hole brought us wireless situation. And I said listen this is. You see teams reach for quarterbacks and may regret it and is this something where Houston reached for Brock outs while there. And they regretted needed any they need to get him off the books pleases to skim off our puppets and and Cleveland took them. But I mean it doesn't seem that the number one and there's a reason why they didn't pay him you know yeah they let go. The asked whether a deal is weird and we wanted to dive into the salute to be here with our special guest who's been standing by we thank you very much. Mike committee from spot trekked dot com the F salary cap in net. And contract go to source for many of us in the media even some teams my two nannies in our studio aren't our control room the other way the deal. I'm still trying to get my arms around him Mike and I I get you know that the concept of the Houston Texans trying to. Move away from a mistake and shedding some salary cap I guess I don't understand what the brown stand to gain here other than and really a second round pick next year it seems like it. Awfully steep price to pay for a second round pick as. Yeah I think I think what's happening here is the browns have accumulated so much cap space. That they basically have house money. So and draft picks are more valuable to them right now men you know low and free agents in terms of trying to rebuild their roster especially as they're trying to turn those traffic since the better players like for instance at Jimmy up or her or quarterback of their future. By I think what they've done is they've really just bought himself a second round pick. That what I don't real really understand is is part be here that they're that they're trying to flip Brock costs while they're turning into another pick and try to shed some of that sixteen million dollars off their captain. Because they're in need of quarterback's home and so unless they're able to do that and bring in a guy like Rob Lowe. You know Indy even if they draft the quarterback high in the in the draft this year. Why not give us while Iran through training camp to see Woody's god you know certainly he didn't look at you know at the end of last year with Houston but. If he he's probably better than anything you've got your roster right now so I don't understand is why not giving him at least a are played through this hour on the team. Yeah I mean at that totally makes sense they have had a quarterback. They data recorder right every year for the last fifty years it hasn't worked out for them. But. When you look at it now I think they have like 26. Picks in the next two years I think they have maybe nine. Top 65 picks in the next two drafts you know also. At some point you know you have to build out a roster are we talking about on draft day seeing them possibly start to really make some trades to get some players for tactics. Yeah I have to imagine that's coming you'd even probably before the draft I think. You know everything I read yesterday with that this was a position to move and try to get Jimmy gravel from the patriots you know basically is take your pick you know what what draft picks do you need to get it done. I don't know that gets done I don't know that that that New England moves on from him but certainly if there's going to be a plan B and a Clancy if that doesn't happen because. I can't see them use knowledge traffic even though that you need to real rebuild agreements. A couple of other things about this that I guess I'm still again trying to think through it Mike gum. I had some I get the capital occasions on some level and as you mentioned the buying a second round picked Cleveland is. That's real money that's caps sold are they that flush with cash and is their owner Jimmy handsome that flush with cash that he can essentially can't spend what eight millions maybe it has only sixteen million and a second round pick is that it out of whack a little bit. It's a unique look at it because you know and we get wrapped up in the cap hit it and the full boss out of it but right there the payroll to a as well. And if you're gonna pay the guys sixteen million dollars to run at least let them try to flee your quarterback and I think it but. Think the thing is. A second round contracts for four years is gonna cost about sixty million dollars so in terms of how that looks. You what you've done is you've kind of double yourself up for the second round pick in terms of the sixteen million. Be they clearly have the cash to spend. And in some instances they probably need to spend cash because they've really don't have any any major players left on the roster in terms of what's come from last year hey Mike this is something that came up in the office the other day is there a floor like the you have to spend a certain amount of money if there is there's a cap and cash for so it's a sliding value that hasn't been established yet but there's. There's movement every year and there was a leeway when a new CPA signed you could kind of flex that a little bit. But that's not set in stone so there's there is a number you have things you and I know. The raiders are one of the teams that we'll have to spend that's wired hearing a lot of talk about them extending their car Cleo Mac those kind of players. There are low in terms of cashed payroll right now so they bear wants him to keep an eye out for the next coming months. As you said and brown situation well first off let's get into grapple. You know first he's going to be traded and then the patriots won't trade him on back last week and and apparently everything's on the table this personally and that is concern mum. What how does that look for a Cleveland I mean is this all of attempt at. And generic trade this and some other you know best. Number of draft picks to New England for Jimmy Europe although you coliseum from politics perspective but is that really what. Cleveland's doing here do you think it it it certainly seems that way you know an analyst they're doing it for Kirk cousins I can't think another player out there who you'd really. But this much effort in terms of I draft export rate now at the quarterback position obviously. The thing is trading with. Bill Belichick trading with the patriots is almost never a good trade for you so. Phil so even if he's even if this does get done. You know how much are they gonna have to over pay and you know at the end of the day is Jimmy Europe or really the quarterback they want them to be wanted to be so. It it it's playing with fire and it sounds like they're bringing a lot of a lot of firepower to the table but. I don't know that at the rate move either way the browns reckless Mike. They have been they have been a lot and a lot of people thought yesterday's move was a turn the right direction for them a lot of people like this move kind of paying for. You know the right thing. Draft higher because that's how they rebuild their roster look rebuild if the draft. Is phenomenal it works for you rate because it's it's cheap it's the cheap route you keep your cap slowly keeper cash flow blow it certainly the best business way to go. But you know you've been looking at the bill's recent past it's not always the most successful you know I have ever sell off if the cop got their make a free agent splash and they're doing both on the browns are doing well I don't know if that's the cheaper out if you're paying you know 860 million dollars for attract a threat that I picked you add up you know but there. It it's a lot differ from where it was six years ago that when you have Matthew Stafford making seven million out right so right. Now how much money do they have left it on the yes I've got a few concerts though the tooth little locate some of the bigger offensive lineman but still look at it nineteen million in cap space based on what the country I've put in today though. They've got an absolute ton of on a space they've got within house money. And they can be a little reckless right now so they before themselves that opportunity. This all of course engineered by Paul. At the end of the day you have these baseball guys analytics guys making. Business decisions. But you still have to make football decisions you have to draft well so. Five years amount if they end up those who say they use all these Japanese they don't trade away anybody and he still have a horrible team that is going to be like what did you do all that for. That's right how good is your scouting team right now hop I'll go to the people inside your organization in terms of rebuilding its roster through draft because. You know you know it's easy for Gallic music here but the numbers the other you know I think there are a lot of people that can make that work. But you know it's about you in the right count the right fit for your system and they have not done a good job of that in recent years we. Won't know the answered this week I wouldn't think as to whether this work at it seems like. You know the browns have at least one more. A move to make and use that will be analyzed and discussed by all of us guys like YouTube might but as you said it and in the end you have to have a team Atlanta and play right. Right and that's from armed reading right now is the backlash of sure they made agreed accounting move but by but they still don't have the roster to going win this year so. In you know. Establishing that quarterbacks finishing the team around him you know. What's that there about what trump prior Joseph their number one right receivers going to be out of out the door. I am just not sure they have the firepower right now undergoing contend this year and I mean maybe even that action depending how this draft goes speaking of surprise as we keep I keep getting tweets we keep getting calls people ask him why don't we sign Terrelle Pryor. Is he enough a true number one receiver and what is his market. He's not a number one in India and the essence of policy in Iraq and number one right so he's not gonna go out there and catch fifteen balls for you. He's versatile he can do a lot of things he's more he's maybe more along that Taylor and Austin line and in terms of a guy you can do a bunch of things for your office of special teams. But his his numbers are surprisingly productive when I went to value in this offseason he was one that's a doubt. He says he's hard line nine million per year guy. Which is second tier. Wide receiver to money so he you know is that an option for the bills probably not that price based on their cap space. He certainly need to you know that's that's a need for the bills right now a policy group and kind of mover on the field little bit get across the middle as well. If they can get him at a discount that's probably got those good look at pressure. All right my two nitty from spot trek dot com we're gonna check back in with Mike is he monitors the free agent market analyzes some of the deals are so wanna talk about the Stephon Gilmore deal in knowing that we'll get to that in a couple of minutes. We can hear from you as well fault lines open at 8030550. Tool free 1888. 550 to 550 or via Twitter our Twitter poll and up for a couple of hours now with more than 2100 votes and so far. What we think that the first wave of bills free agency. Maybe even the bulk of bills free agency is complete with the signing the five announced yesterday what position should the bills target next. In free agency on our portable wanting 100 votes. Overwhelmingly three quarters of you 77% say wide receiver 9% say offensive line 9% say depth on defense. 5% say quarterback you surprised everybody look at the receivers now. I'm not surprised I think we talked about it their own show and you know national reporters have also talked about. This draft being sold defense of heavy that it makes sense. To possibly bring in a wide receiver bring in my office of mine that. And the bills right now you'd we keep talking about you're gonna have to find guys if you can find them at your price. That is a great thing for you know what you have to find a number two and number three wide receiver you can this Amare receivers in this draft as well. But I'm not surprised that people are saying you know this is where they feel would do no signal Mexico's you don't have anybody except us and let's take a few phone calls on this issue Johnny calling from Rochester Johnny welcome the show you're on the air that's. Hey guys I am doing. All year and I think the social go after July receivers. May ridiculous bringing. Just an honorary Brandon Tate back. Do Congo passion show one year deal and track glory gators would dead to have picked. Yeah I mean all of the names that you just. The drop in Munich all off it if it's at the right price yeah you can make it work and people keeps Ana Cordero pat Patterson I think he is and he's a good fit here I think he would be agree Koppel Norton complement sued to Sammy Watkins he does still need to prove that he can play who are receiving them. You know there's a reason why he wasn't playing wide receiver in Minnesota he was just really go specialties and you know also. That's because he's a bigger wide receiver ESP. But the route running hasn't been different in the hasn't been able to separate from BBC hasn't been able to show that he can play wide receiver and so they had to just put him kick return. Oh by the way he is a good tickets right so if you bring him in here you have a guy right now that can play kickoff return and possibly be your number two or number three hours. I'll be issued to see what what becomes of just an honor you mentioned you so reporter earlier that under was at a visit schedule with yet patriots taking a look the bills don't have the money in and nor should they. But you know go to the wall the sun just an honor but like you pointed out he did show value and and on field value here's what he has and former second round pick out as he has the pedigree to be a pretty good NFL player may not seen his career resuscitated here. He definitely have the pedigree the patriots either he's a guy who can score touchdowns wary especially in the red zone with his his. Height and is jumping ability com and I would I would think that the bills. Feel the same way about them days I feel like ages one to make sure they keep him at the air price. And so that means you know allow everything in the coming die out and see who still out there first and you get another guy who. If there was a reason doesn't hunt or was it starting in this lineup last it and you know and so I think that's something that they're looking at let's see who wealth without the year before we decide to bring death and by the way regardless of Chris Hogan or whoever else you can't jump just because patriots. You can't deviate from your values that you put. I'm just an honor to rikers knowing that would be the worst move you can figure you know like Ali don't get that assignment you gotta be ready close got to be ready to rules you know just like they did it was a final. A call here from Dan in cap market welcome your running errands. Guide to cup comment and Mike Tolbert just seemed like the perfect fit for this team. And the Micah Hyde. Signing I would think was this deal. That is this feels so far for the bills. Basically you. Yeah I swear to say where I think we feel the same way about Mike item to Yemen and so he's he's a good player. We talked about it he's versatile he's got a complaint everything for you he catches and is that and he can play corner and he can line up against. Your best receiver we keep watching for people watching on amnesty side they keeps on highlight. A mica high line and a 101. With Golden Tate into who is Detroit's best receive their number one receivers have you have a guy who can play safety oh by the way act in line with the number one receiver. That is a huge plus and I feel like did as a steel and it happened quiet as a good sign for for the bills. Wanna get more I don't wanna get to Mike unity on this two Mike unity from spot trick Beckham whose. In the building whether it's over in our control room talking about some of these deals is free agency moves along. And we talked about Micah Hyde in the numbers in the bills clearly you know what I think Mikey animates the sixth or seventh highest paid a safety in the NFL based on the number you have. Can you evaluate Micah Hyde the deal. From a league wide perspective because there's ecologists said. He's calling it the steel and I don't I'm prepared to see that is yet but what your evaluation of the Micah Hyde this signing in and the bills what they paid for Micah. I think I think for the way it's structured. I'll lend itself to be you know in the bill's favor the whole way through a cassette at the low signing bonus low cap its. He's a versatile player but at that in the same regard you know safeties especially strong safeties generally are higher paid paid players. So you eat you're looking at numbers like thirty million in and four key knowing guaranteed in your thinking not a pretty good deal for what sounds like a really great player he's a great player. He's at a position that doesn't pay very high generally so. It's great structure it's it's a good cash flow for him I think it's good cash flow for the bills. I would call to steal this because it generally fits into the strong safety mold. And you said you had a value right. Somewhere around this number he said is like maybe the bills might paid maybe a million more than yeah yeah a little less I think at about five and a half on him and he's the little six. Earned numbers so it's it's ray Roberts should be. We talked about this when you're on the show this couple weeks ago Mike on that spot direct and edit feature this year is and it felt approached free agency would your market valuation. I wonder how much of the last 2448 hours have you spent. You know gauging what you had figured with what the actual numbers ours you know kind of checking your math Everett at it's it's kind of a fun way to do that we looked back in Tennessee was remembered word and then. If I'm really wrong kind of figure out why it's so. Trying to read about you know our players are and through the agents and things like that and most of all that's forma or forward with the the mathematical formula that takes that in a plane in the Olympics from the advancements in the place so there's. It's kind of a lot to it we've evolved over the years but wrote to get a better and where we've been pretty close. On most of the big contracts this year so. Well we've got to a point where we can we trust. Mikey ever again in two any arguments with the agents when they call you and ask about the players value and it's like do my players a lot better then which is saying Hitler. So don't say that since we've lost its market value site to the public that Wednesday it gently with them but it is behind the scenes in Q1 one relief on it. But does that mean that the list public I've heard from quite a few agents yeah you know awful you know. Most pretty pleased with you know might beware evaluate the players some not and I've had pretty good back and forth but yet there's been a few players notably. The agent think I'm way off on and they know how I got there and panic you know poverty were getting beat back for a month with the what you're doing it releasing publicly on the website you would think Smart teams in the NFL and all sportsmen do that for awhile right compiling their own data due in the copper bowls they are and when I did it I was reluctant because I didn't want to be stepping on toes and it might be taking private information that he might be gathering in. Maybe doing that on my terms but really that's what I'm doing and I'm taking my take it in pretty out there so that the conversation can add. And I will say this you know I'll put a release out there to the Twitter to FaceBook. And economic analysts like because generally speaking eat retreated. Act as though instantly that's when I know I've I've kind of an element there. My two nitty Fitzpatrick wrote back Mike you still wanna talk about Stephon Gilmore and all of its money here more about that but in the meantime that we want talk with a deal more contact with the New England the sixth call here from Jack in Rochester project go ahead you're on the air. Jack are you there in Rochester. I am ahead you're on the air. Well limited to the little locked topic but I wanted to give him a comment about come Tyrod Taylor. Particulate and over the left so many weeks people back important tyra I don't know people think he could change his game people think that he stuck. One of the problems we have that. If you look at that litany of bills quarterback we've had. You're cutting it tight Kelly at the franchise guy that you have been kind of people that they came out of the gate really strong in the game fell off you know like the black goes through that. Flutie and Fitzpatrick. Well we had a bunch that they looked really promising but they had to flop in the game but it never got over there why. You know they J. P. Losman in the Trent Edwards in the PGA people like that. Typical quarterback who looked promising that was flawed. And that's you overcame don't want to become salad you've got to go way back electoral verdict. And not many people haven't agreed that bark so you know the organizational memory effect that well you know that kind of thing doesn't happen because we just never found that before. He's he's definitely back for Miami's. Well yeah I mean that's home back in the seventies but your. Your point is interesting and you know I heard an interesting point with and Jeremy White in the morning Joseph and reflective in buffalo WGR today when. Is his point was you know look we're getting we have a pretty good sets and Tyrod is after two years tournament starts. We're gonna get it by the end of this pictures probably gonna be around two warriors at least here in buffalo certainly this next year. Every great idea who he is and it's the central question that Donald that I wrestle with a lot on this show you know what's the ceiling how much better we don't know. You know there are things in his game that you like to see him do better week devoted almost the whole showed it would yesterday with irony here this yesterday as well. But you don't know and maybe he hit. I don't think anybody can say that with certainty I for 1 am excited about getting the chance to see knowing what. Sent in that we don't may be assuming he's here maybe is more is greater to me I don't we want to office yesterday veteran ball ovaries there was the deep ball as a lot to the run game it's a good teammate and leader. So the floor is good enough to get you to a certain level the question with tyra is Kenny get better and none of us in the answer to their I think the third year will go along way towards Internet artists. It is meant to do some receivers around them some guys this down a field and then we'll see. I mean we know who he is. But do some guys around a man make please and then if he's not able to get it done for you at that point then okay yeah announced on a mobile we need to get a quarterback in here we have the pieces around the quarterback we just don't have a quarterback back in getting to those guys so kiss some weapons around Tyrod. And let's talk a year or two from. One more call in this segment mark calls this from a joins us from time wanna go ahead mark welcome. They get extra mile. I have a question or doubt that I'm. You just mentioned how wide receivers and a lament that under or that the question or thought out. It's you know obviously however we are gonna addressed that to the draft. I really like Dick chin out Corey Davis and just watching YouTube pilot but it's gotta be between him and Mike Williams I don't know what. Donald thought about that. And then I'm Donald edit questions for you. Aren't about that until more it and. You know my friends. And we can't go back in sports and we are gonna agree it seemed to place so hot right back hard hitting. It budget back and I wanted an all. Oh wait what you're doing dot net in the eighty. On how to build a trust that in the differences between a guy like him in the logistic doubt armada actors. And I'd thought I was gonna have to listen extra guys. Are. So when you look at Stephon Gilmore. You can say yea he he wasn't a guy who. Was known to come up in and may be it you know people said that about Dion as well you know one with India unease in the hall of fame to be honest with you corners in their minds. You have some guys that are willing to come up in me it's stages they grew up that way you have other guys that feel like listen I get paid to cover our receivers in this passing the idea paid to cover receivers. He had five interceptions whether they fell into his lap. Whether it you know whatever happened he had five. Interceptions which is why he got the money that he got he uses a good corner. You would like to see a corner who can come up in and help out in the run game hopefully. You know keep on run Darby will do that anybody else who they bring him here hopefully they will get that done for you you look at a guy like. Like Micah Hyde. He is a guy that will come up and help out the run game but you know he plays safety as well right so that the that's he's a strong safety that you know so that's kind of his game come up and help out in right into talking about two totally different players. And then you asked a question about Corey Davison and Mike Williams. You know I've said on the show many times I like Corey Davis over Mike Williams I just feel like he's more NFL ready and feel like he's ready to run routes for you now he's ready to. You know get down the field as well I am I do feel like he's probably faster than my wins right now on his career might wins is this a bigger body. Who can box out and kids balls over people's like where it is. Affecting Gilmore for a second in the in the way he played physical will he be able to get away with it you won't be great and powerful Bill Belichick was. What happened here and we'll talk about it contact them and debt. Because if he starts to do that out here and that contact is structured the right way they do. We are gonna talk about you where we are gonna hear from bill safety Jordan lawyer what of the free agency said yesterday. He's gonna step to the podium a couple of minutes and we'll carry for you live plus more time for your phone calls another check in with my two nitty. The lot here today in the show John Murphy show presented by NAPA Auto Parts we're live at one bills drive on Buffalo Bills review. Over from the Cleveland Browns. Is that the podium over in the media room right now let's listen into Jordan player with the buffalo meat. I'm here and says it's a place where they put me you know it. Play were arrested. He I send us I'm excited about our senior whatever they have me. Where they want me to do you know I'm I'm wants to do it in believes. And I couldn't accurate term violence and inactive I mean you know it's every I think there Kathie -- that you do everything happens so. They send us here know where they were put me Wear it wherever they base they think suited best and they I'm four. What. And there is I mean obviously there he or is that there is becoming and would use them. With the another fallacy. Were you guys would work together. You might get. Common bond. People where. Yeah I mean it's it's funny. You know on my denying. We how we make is Christian courtesy with my team in Cleveland and they both went silent again and so had gone to San Diego. Two off seasons ago I met Micah there and he's he's a great dude grateful while players. In I'm excited to work with them side it's so play play alongside them you know I think we can both learn a lot from having watched a lot of this tape. I think I think both of us you know I'd say first top players and a he's degree at these great players and he's of this team went to a news. This is all of these ball. If yours or. You know. That's that's a long story bit loss or story is just in college I was playing both men responsible. It was I was doing lie. Greens are past that and and who's my G here where I decided hang in my baseball cleats and I continue to. To pursue my dream of playing so on and so you know if it wasn't pursue my dream for influence those that may have been an Obie is. You know I was them database book and you go back and they must that some of them at risk out of it. And so you know as I love the game I love this game love of the game for love of the work that you put into it. Is seeing the rewards from it you know it's being able to stand here. And for you guys and talk to you guys I mean incidents of blessing is that it is itself in time. Worked really hard my whole life to just be standing here and so it sounds really excited about the opportunity to via their buffaloes and and continue record and to. There. Coming from Clinton plays it no. Moss. There's there's there's always your seventh teachers. But so. From from a standpoint of the club that is close apparently. I think you put in context for you if you want more this game than just an opportunity to play your first one that. Ability. For championship. You party's roots he called Mac clone this close and were there opportunities hands. Two. For one I think it's a suit I think is is that great opportunity I mean this one of the best our team I think my entire life Fisher. You know coming from Cleveland you know after last four years. Now in all hustle and you know it's tough you know summer there you know he plays his game. You know I try to win and you put some gestures and in time and antibody in the offseason and not get the results of shoes that you wanna stuffy -- hearts and motivated and a you know coming out hearing it's new I've says new opportunities in new. You know it's new coaching staff it's in new new new new new faces in the locker room. This new opportunity to go on competing and we games and you know that's that's what I'm here to do. You're aware of what might work. I was an up now. Well you found out what was career. I said mark is great for what player and so you know those got a damn bit below swearing in game tied and I'm excited exits who worked with him in and play alongside him and you know in in and builder relation with him. And win football Hayes you know it's that's the main thing has over here is aware of organs and so. Whenever I can act in there from him. You know potato in and you know its exit from skating keeps changing it's your opportunity. Because you. What so. And what he went. And if spray beauty or it is a little bit brand new you know. Every day you learn new defense almost every season you come into me and all well all these sentences them sorrow Hussein. Just different terminology different you know very of his different you know hand signals whatever it is. But you know except I'm excited says to learn the defense into. And so you know just have the opportunity gap and compete in so long games. Your work. Or else. Yeah and it taxes or what. Words. Planes. On Liu and believe I mean you'd on you know we're. The fans come from me flew into saying where's their but he you know they come out there freezing cold man it's unbelievable atmosphere. Is out and that's and that's one of the reasons I was so excited when my eyes at home. I'm about Buffalo's because the fan base and he has. You know just atmosphere here and and you know it's the law. So what town and just certain sizes put that hat white and blue one from today the answers and visitors who knows there qualities though. Try to put those on them and exits set it's. What was this process like for you being able to unrestricted free agency and there's the uncertainty that comes with a but obviously there's there's some time there's a law. Yeah. I mean is first time going through some like this. Definitely really anxious didn't really know what was gonna happen because it's my situation last year beam her weeks it's. You know I decides kind of listening God's hands and in news that. There's going to be opportunities somewhere and where that opportunity was there and I was gonna go in. You know I can be better places to come in buffalo and they say it's parents or me you know my party may. Saw that saw that the tour here in this great city and doing new stuff to it. This is is going to be it's going to be fun I mean I'm really excited about it. Jordan employer bill safety decide to a contract yesterday one of the five sound yesterday only played. Six games started all sixteen for the browns last year went on injured reserve so it's inching were sent out here listening to battle trying to figure out where he fits a obviously Micah Hyde you'd think could be the big free agent signing at safety but. It'll what pointer I think have to wait until it plays out of the roster should tell where you want to. Yes that's exactly which you have to do is just like we had to wait for Tyrod situation would come down with what are you have to wait and see how the roster shakes out over the next couple of days couple weeks what happens and then you know you start to talk about him where he fits and you know he could be a player who comes in here. Who you are expected to be. A special teams guy who comes in ends up a starter ends up adds background that Lorenzo Alexander forty you know so that's all you. You can hope for something like that I don't know without the contract that they gave them bottom. You know you hope that he comes in balls. Brit take a break we're gonna come back tuck some warmer gonna get one more check in with my team idiots but trek dot com and come back for that to John Murphy show presented by NAPA Auto Parts live at one bills drive this is Buffalo Bills revealed. I. Things he's not John Murphy should go on buffalo. And now what do we learn from today show this presented by advance alive providing Western New York homes and businesses with a finance and security in home theater. The preferred alarm at home theater provider of the Buffalo Bills we've covered a lot of territory today. Heard from a lot of the bills of free agents three of them at least today we have Mike Tolbert outset with a as the bills running back fullback to decide to contract. October talked it was about whether US recalled running back or fullback. His column in first. How much do it all must do more than Beckham will become more plays this season. Yeah it plays music and and it can become a joke on everybody I mean I was of the view that. Itself won't anybody help. Roast in the middle of everybody. Usually a teammate you provided me a little bit of that inserts in the humor Tashard Choice. I'll tell people's one of the funniest human beings government the right let me start was like he was Larry. To serve Larry's he would say they view by. To stop play all the time to do matter what was going on it is always. You know high energy Laffey in and you know you need guys like that Cochran really do need because guys have been a bad day. Yeah having a bad day you CNET active marker with the head down he comes out he's like those roads in these are still in the like Malone and you have military trusted but to laugh when. Towards this alert any of the great laugh himself he would get right it was on the rumors favorite room was grows these ploy everything growth. I get that same kind of vibe from my Mike Tolbert they all afternoon long we have benefited from the expertise in the insight of Mike trinity the co-founder and editor of spot tracked back on the web site that deals with. NFL contracts this hour camp information. Contracts from all over a professional sports. Mike with one Mora segment with a straight here for a couple of minutes he's in our controller my first of all thank you very much for lending us your expertise today I think. I hope our listeners learned a lot I know I've certainly learned a lot from and you talk about these deals meant to be here they the one thing we haven't touched down also because the information is still kind of easy. So the bills lost a bundle more to the patriots. Reportedly five year 65 million with forty million guaranteed. What do you know about that deal concrete information and how does that compare with some of the other cornerback deals that have been struck so far. On terms of the structure I don't know much that's that that of the basic because they're really all it's been reporter at this point so. You know it's up and that's a lot this already there in terms of you know Gilmore for five years but. It's very and patriots like so well up to see what the structural one's self to in terms of how law. Come on which guaranteed isn't the first couple years and things like that but. Whose details for now in terms of other cornerbacks thirteen million years they're ranked you know 67. Which is ridiculous but that's a lot of money for a guy coming off a couple of down seasons in terms of production. But yes about a sixth sixth ever ties paid cornerback in football and really in terms of guaranteed money he's right up there a judge Norman now well now. I hear you talk about that's ridiculous thirteen million dollars a year is something that we were talking about. Off the air out there and office or an arm and back room over there. Just the difference and I know you cover MBA and MLB is well just the difference in these MBA in MLB contacts. Compared to Minnesota. Shares we're talking thirteen million for cornerback right well. With these new cap figures coming out for the NBA we're looking at numbers that we've never seem for a professional sports in America that we're looking at. Five year contracts over to order a million were looking at average salaries of forty million a year. If LeBron takes a maximum deal with Cleveland that next year you can have that 51 million dollar salary in five years. I mean we're talking just a third a third numbers for these major stars if their sign a maximum contracts. So it it paled in comparison I mean that even with baseball are the baseball contract he stated you know reign supreme and you know even right now the high speed baseball players 32 million so it's. Which which is still double basically double football salary but you know and the NBA sailors are definitely want to keep it Diana you know will be keeping up with those on the offseason as the free agency comes about with them but. The numbers are going to be really out there and Mike can you tell on the traffic on your web sites by a strict dot com which of the professional sports. Generates the most traffic in the most interest it's football and everybody else and everybody always has been but we've we've seen a lot of uptick with baseball and basketball. Probably they're probably two and two to be in terms of the traffic on and hockey's a distant fourth. I wanna get back except that we started the show with in the first half hour talking with you about. The Tyrod Taylor deal which is now a day and a half fold almost two days old. And that have the flexibility that the bills have afforded themselves can you just gotta go over what to think of that deal and I guess you know I don't put words in about what you thought it turned into a a pretty good deal favorable deal for the for the team here. Yeah it's it sure seems that lately said it's it's a five year deal to cut down to two. For cap purposes. You know it puts him in about fifteen point 25 million a year in terms of average salary which is revoked Mike Glenn and if you can believe that. Com. It's the guaranteed monies lower so you know it's more prepared to play kind of thing he can go up there at the prove himself for two years it's by far it's going to be a two year contract I think. Like you said though. We're we're looking at a deal this year where he's getting a lot of cash now but at a more cash next year if he proves himself Fisher to a point where they want it more they wanna turn this into a long term deal. They can easily push out the bonus money that's their from this year into a long term deal and and do this right for. The immediate future. Doug Whaley is fond of saying you know in his job he's got to be light on his feet that's his quote. And when I look at and not just about tyra and obviously but you look at the deal they struck for the last August what they've done here today and and what you sort of project as to what might happen in the future it sounds like they've been extremely he's been extremely light on his feet when it comes to dealing with his quarterback here. I think that goes back to the conversation we had with Donald about Bart Scott and long term contract I think that's how would GM's need to be right now they needed. He he you know don't do too much to lock yourself in for long term you know keep make it make everything fluid. You know and always be ready to adjust it here like this that you you never know when it injuries come and never know when you're gonna have to move on from a player things like that so you wanna have. Flexibility with your contracts must clear their roster and certainly I think Willie's done pretty good job of that up this point. Let's think Mike I wanna give you a chance to it if you would offer a disclaimer on selling your numbers number one and number two talk about the website and how people can dive into some of this information yet share. Yes we've we've been around for many years now and it's been growing growing up you know at a pretty good pace we've been able to expand a multiple sports you know if that were doing. And molest contracts NATO countries that with the football on the exports. But you know we're tracking not just salaries and and cap it figures were doing that on a team levels he can see how teams are spending in terms of their annual salaries. We're doing free your projections were doing market guys as we talked about the were kind of protecting our players are producing in terms of their statistics going forward. We Wright's occasional research articles the really and show our numbers kind of come together in terms of each sport. And you know where I get numbers from the partners reports out there there's some confirmation reports from these sources from agents and things like that. So it's along its along a process for me to go find information to government like that but it's by no means NFL PA approved information. And Mike thanks for this it's been great having you here today next year would get tenure for a couple of days for this segment I appreciate the independent. Mike committee does spot trek dot com is the website as BO TR eight C thanks to our presenting sponsor. NAPA Auto Parts are at a come board after the Iran engage production assistance from every album masters victory you know George plants Jeff COLT make Thomas Allen or James Donovan our producer.
